Unless the *IF* is doing a TON of work for you, I don't see any reasonable way that this makes sense.

In aggregate, the economic cost of trading can be staggering. Following up with a paper in 2009, the same authors conclude:

Individual investor trading results in systematic and economically large losses. Using a complete trading history of all investors in Taiwan, we document that the aggregate portfolio of individuals suffers an annual performance penalty of 3.8 percentage points.

Let me reiterate that number: 3.8 percentage points... annually. Talk about hamstringing yourself! In order to be a (successful) trader, you need to be able to consistently beat most of your peers. If you can't do that, the penalty is enormous.

What's your recommendation if he decides on the PPV porn option?

Once upon a time you could order PPV porn and it would be listed on your check-out bill as something other than what it was. Now everything is known and for sale. I've got my eye on you, calli.

lol. I remember when the neighbors tapped into our cable and the little brother of my girlfriend got blamed for the bill consistently by her parents.

Is it not that way any more?

This is years ago, but one of my friends decided to order PPV porn on an interview trip and then realized OH **** THE BILL GOES TO THE COMPANY. So he fessed up to the desk manager who insisted that the title of the film would not be displayed but also suggested he could pay for the movie separately and not have any extra charges show up on the bill at all.

My friend refused to disclose the actual title of the film, so we had to Photoshop random porn pun titles into fake hotel bills and kept putting them on his desk.

Good times.

I feel like $30/night "resort fees" came about about the same time hotels started offering wifi (and started losing all of their uh, PPV revenue).

Well I don't order porn PPV anymore since I'm a thousand years old but if anyone thinks the NSA doesn't know everything about you you should listen to Alex Jones. They know it all, I tell you, all.

You might be onto something. I didnt think anyone actually pays for PPV porn or uses the fridge with goodies on scales but what do I know. The margins are obviously insane.

They wouldn't have the stuff in the room if nobody bought it. When people pay $500 for a $22 bottle of vodka in da club, five bucks for a snickers seems like a bargain.

As for resort fees, untrue. I was using, and paying for, the hotel internet years before resort fees appeared.

I have never ordered PPV porn. I have however hidden dirty magazines in the woods. This puts me in a pretty small porn generation I believe.
03-22-2018 , 01:14 PM
How? Magazines have been around for longer than VHS or PPV porn.
03-22-2018 , 01:34 PM
Yeah, PPV porn seems like it's narrowly post-cable pre-Internet. The intention was to conjure an image of a dude who's behind the times but is really glad he doesn't have to go to the adult theater any more. He knows the Internet has porn but he's afraid that someone is tracking him through his aol.com email address since it uses his real first name and last name. As opposed to those young'uns who were Internet savvy enough to score Xxx_DarkKnight69_xxX@aol.com and not use their real name ****ing millenials ruining this country.

Its not the nsa, you need to worry about. Its Cambridge Analytica and other big data abusers.

NSA only cares if you are a threat.

CA according to the reports will prey on all your subconcious fears and motivators based on AI psyhcometric profiling, and make you fear or support or do stuff you never thought you cared about.

This is how the machines will rise up in self preservation one day.

I dont think that was so uncommon, at least pre vcr/online. We managed to do that in the 1970s as a kid in the only woods within 3 blocks of my apt. in Queens.

Cant say I rubbed one out at the spot in woods but at least I didnt get poison ivy on my pecker like one kid I knew...

TMI?

Thank goodness! I've been trying to account for my odd behavior this past while and now I know that it's bec of the AI like I suspected all along!

The Fools are lightweights. They know very little about trading. They're more geared to "investing".

Unless you do something more than just make assertions, you're kind of in the rubbish bin with a ton of other financial advice that can be found on the internet.

Whether you think it's right or not, the Snowden leaks underscored how willing the NSA is to gather up innocent peoples' data.

I think the point is that the NSA is unlikely to be actively using that data against you unless you are a threat.
