I saw Greg Raymer at Canterbury Park, wearing a manpurse, leaving the 10/20 mix before I could get in and steal all of his hard earned mannies.

I also saw Joey Ingram at the Bellagio and did my best to annoy him saying only one word.

I played with 4 semi-famous players at the same table, and had a 5th come by and chat with the group.

Hard to believe you have only seen 2!

I always want to meet famous people to see how short they are.
11-06-2018 , 04:05 PM
does zero count? Actually a negative numbers as the regulars where I play are the nut low....

I would like to request location of these regulars, Mr. Spew.

My opening volley: 2. I passed by Chris Feurguson at Shadowbar once and I was in the cashier's line in front of Phil Hellmuth once at Bay 101.

Specifically, I've never seen anyone I recognize in Bobby's Room, never been to WSOP, and tend not to play at peak hours (not even in Vegas).

I don't watch a huge amount of poker on TV so it's possible I missed some, but I always find it amusing when people are all "I played with X" and "I saw Y" and honestly the most famous person I've played with is jesse8888.
I saw Doyle at the Bellagio and when he caught me staring at him he gave me a dirty look.
The WSOP ME was at the Rio while that was going on. When Phil Ivey caught me staring at him he put his hand up in front of his eyes and turned his head.
Mario Ho (who is on my Freebies List - see http://www.friends-tv.org/zz305.html if you're not familiar with that term) saw me staring at her, gave me a quick disgusted and confused look, and went on about her business.

For another example of a time I embarrassed myself around a celebrity, at the tennis tournament in Key Biscayne about 20 years ago Martina Hingis was sitting in a fenced-off patio with her mom and a couple other people. She caught me looking at her legs and turned her chair and sat further under the table.

Seems like you are just a creepy person in general.

I luck boxed into a $10k wpt back into 2004 or so and Doyle was to my right, victor ramdan, Scotty Nguyen, and Mickey appleman there. The empty seat was filled 3 hours later by Phil hellmuth who quickly busted. Andy Bloch filled to my left and then I moved to a table with Dan Harrington. I played about 2 hands in 12 hours.

I'm pretty sure Phil busts quickly everywhere.

...remember that time he broadcast his wife's vagina on live stream?

I once got big time'd by Vanessa Selbst (along with the rest of the table) while playing 50/100.

Are you sure it wasn't Doug Polk?

It's pretty weird, actually.

Back during the boom we'd be in Vegas and we'd pass by Bobby's Room on a weekend night to gawk, and although there were always games, we never saw anyone we recognized. And then we'd hear about famous people who came in the night before or how we just missed someone famous or whatever. Or someone would point out someone kind of obscure and none of us knew who they were.

Which is why seeing Feurguson was fun. I watched the least poker in our group but I was the first to spot him at a super crowded bar.

He probably thought I was a dork because I grabbed my friends' shoulders and pointed wildly towards him. Hard to tell whether he even noticed since he had sunglasses and a poker face on. He could have been asleep for all I knew. Or passed out with the two super hot women on either side of him Weekend at Bernie's-ing him.

I walked in to the Bike last night just as LATB was moving the game to a “normal” table. Not really celebs but it was weird seeing all those guys in person.

Got seated in the 8-16 HK that was hanging on by a thread and only got to play ~90 mins before the game broke (I guess technically I broke it because I was tired of playing 5-6 handed with one player doing the alternate min buy/short buy thing).

Checked Bravo in the room and commerce had 5 such games going. Oh well

Does he count as famous? I don't think I even know his last name.
11-08-2018 , 01:46 AM
If he counts then I guess Joe Tall and Jon Locke count too. 5!

WTF now today I sit down at Orleans 8-16 and the game does 20 mins later. I really need to learn how to play NL

Time to hit the pit I guess
11-08-2018 , 08:07 PM
Or play the 8-16 O8 like a real baller.

I’m the sucker in any O8 game I play. Can’t even look at my cards like the cool kids
11-08-2018 , 10:13 PM
Or don't play 8-16 O8 as that would be unwise.

It's worth learning 08 if your local game features 5+players/flop and it's often more at 8-16. Playing an ABC game gets the money, it's very simple at those stakes. Boring bec we are used to the fast LHE but it will teach you inner calm just as well as a Zen Master could.

LOL I lift em up two at a time to make clear that I'm a huge ass fish.

You get a lot fewer hands per hour at O8, so I don't think it can ever be more profitable than LHE.
