Right there with you. Since these kind of angles most come from mediocre regs trying to steal pots to help their meh win rate, you get even more incentive to not let them do it. Educating the odd player who doesn't know rules/etiquette is also good for the game.

The "if" part is what I'm talking about.

What's a respectable amount of time to give the dealer to notice? How about 1 second? Maybe 2 if you're wearing headphones and may have missed a verbal exchange?

Well for as much as I have been complaining about dealers lately, here is one that follows procedure (at least in this room).

Player A raises CO with JTcc, player B calls with K rag in BB.

Flop is KJTr, check bet call.

Turn Q, same action.

River 9. Player B checks, Player A turns over his hand, Player B turns over the K and pushes both cards forward with one up and one down. Dealer slowly but intentionally reaches forward, stares at player A, then scoops them into the muck and pushes the lot to player A.

At least two other players at the table didn't blurt out, "straight on board"?

I don't believe it.

It is 20/40 so players generally know better.

One super stoned guy blurted it out and wouldn’t let it go after the pot got pushed.

Do you recognize a player with the board name "Soap," hf?
10-01-2018 , 03:10 PM
It sounds vaguely familiar but not really. I play mostly during the days on weekdays.

A day job?!

It was drizzling and when I walked into the poker room half the lights were out and they were only serving cold food. Should I risk God's wrath and go tomorrow when real rain is expected?

CA or are you in Vegas?

AZ

OH THAT'S RIGHT it's raining there this week.

Talking Stick was under water for ~6 weeks. Along comes a drizzle and the lights are half out. Two of the non-smoking BJ tables in the poker room were completely dark. They announce that the kitchen is only serving cold food. This state of affairs, after 6 weeks of repairs, is hilarious.

Sounds more like Puerto Rico.

That's ****ing pathetic.

It's like they've never seen the rain before. Dat infrastructure failure.

That happened once at the card room I play at. I commented on it to the woman who was going to assign me to a table. She said they were trying for a more romantic mood.

Tell her there's not much romance when the action is 9 ways.

Calli's yearbook mentions a "train of guys", but he told me that was a drinking game.

BEACH WEEK!
10-03-2018 , 12:27 AM
I actually knew about Beach Week way back in college.

One of my friends was from a fancy private school in the WDC area and his mom wouldn't let him go to Ocean Beach because, as she explained, "the streets overflow with beer and semen."

That became our running joke whenever we were doing things that our parents wouldn't have approved of.

'Beer and semen' might be the only micro-brew name left unused.

Faulty assumption ITT

Spoiler:
Faulty assumption has probably also been used

Beach Week, the time of year when Men are made, if you’re not careful, boys are made too.
