I post in the CO, folds around, I look right and see the chair next to me empty, guy in the next chair over moves those cards (in front of the empty chair toward the muck), I raise, button calls, SB calls, at this point empty chair returns / grabs his cards / puts one SB in, I say “whoa hold up” or something, BB calls, empty chair guy puts another SB in.

I again say “stop the action”, explain what happened, dealer doesn’t say anything, I repeat that the guy next to me can’t call after the action has passed him, dealer says “well what do you want me to do?”, I say “call the floor”, he says “seriously?”, I say yes call the floor, he says “no he limped in before you raised”, I say just call the floor and he finally does.

I mean this is twice in a month at a room that is supposed to be really well run. I am not a huge stickler for the rules, but my god can’t I just expect that a a dealer will call the floor when asked?

I honestly am considering a month long tipping ban as protest. I already went to the floor afterwards, explained what happened, he got the head of the room and they both apologized.
That's atrocious.

I virtually never stiff dealers but it's rare I've seen a dealer behave this poorly. I would quietly avoid tipping this one for a couple of months. If by some chance he's still employed there, I'd then quietly ask behind the scenes to see if I he's cleaned up his act.

I can be pretty forgiving to people who want to improve, but.... sheesh. If the room is "supposed to be really well run" then there's hopefully progressive discipline going on behind the scenes.

Different situation but would like opinions.

Female dealer at local casino (only place to play within 100 miles) is horrible. When not flirting (believe me, this is not remotely a plus) with the regulars and general joking around and messing up in numerous instances, she makes remarkably favored decisions toward a certain ethnic group. She has been "retrained" numerous times in the three years I have been going to this casino.

I had a "dead hand" called on me after I showed my neighbor my cards on the turn (he was all-in.) Same situation a down ago and she doesn't kill the hand on someone else.

I drop the FU-dealer and get 86'd for a year.

Do you tip that particular dealer when you return? Ban on tipping to last

Save your tips for her to the side of your stack and give them to the next dealer when they sit?

I decided to do this for a day after I felt like I got cheated. It didn't make me feel any better and everyone thought I was an *******.

It's also unlikely to have any effect. Expressing your concerns to the floor or supervisor is probably the best thing you can do.

Probably different if you just don’t tip the one dealer but tip everyone else.

But is it possible that dealer said that the empty seat was returning ASAP, and you (and the other guy) didn't hear? Like sometimes I'll be on my way back from the bathroom (I usually skip my UTG hand but try to catch the BB) and the dealer will see me and deal me in. Any possibility something like that happened?
It is entirely possible that he saw the guy approaching, but he didn’t say anything (never claimed to have) even after I raised. In fact that is how he explained it to the floor - that he saw he guy coming, but didn’t stop the action and claimed that the guy made it back to the table and limped basicallynat the same time as I raised.

But honestly the decision is whatever (ultimately the floor believed the dealer story and let the guy limp / call). I’m just astounded that dealers are suddenly so cavalier that they just refuse to call the floor. Like this is exactly twice in the last month I’ve asked for a floor and both times I got slow rolled. This time not as bad as the first but cmon wtf.

So what if he said he would be back asap? He didn't get back in time. There's been plenty of times I asked dealer to deal me in next hand while wandering away from the table, but I certainly didn't expect him to hold up the action for me if I didn't get back in time.

I meant that he was returning ASAP, not that he said he was returning ASAP. Like the guy is within 10 feet of the table and yelling "nooooooooooo" slow motion.

Because if the dealer saw that and was trying to get people to hold the action for a second or something, but people ignored him, I would feel a little bit of sympathy for the dealer.

It doesn't seem to be the case.

Well if that was the case, the dealer certainly did a very poor job of stopping the action, and the walker still shouldn't get to play his hand.
