Yeah, there are quite a few of those in the valley. And they are grandfathered in, so it is a big deal if they close and something else opens up. One at Rural and Elliot was turned into a Subway and this lady I knows that is a liquor distributor was completely shocked that that happened.

When my hometown was really small in the 60's the only liquor store in town had a drive-thru. It's still there.

As a bonus, the Walgreens (which also sells booze) has a drive up window. Why wait in the boring store for your scripts when you can sit in your comfy car listening to your radio?

I can listen to my iTunes while I wait in the boring store, and I get to stretch my legs.

There are no screaming kids in my car, and that is worth anything I would have to pay.

Are there typically screaming kids in liquor stores?

Where else would you find quiet juice for your screaming kids?

There are screaming kids EVERYWHERE! Even Vegas. One of the things I miss most about the good ole days in Vegas was that no kids allowed.

Because the Walgreens employees hate the drivethru more than anything

KFC/Taco Bell has the most complicated menu system of any fast food restaurant in the world, AINEC. At least an order of magnitude more absurd than the next fast food chain.

Played at commerce Wednesday night and made a prop bet that 8/16 LHE was running at the Orleans in Vegas at that exact moment because the LHE wsop event was in town. Thank you to whoever of you were playing there at that time. The extra $5 helped me win 40 bets.

You should have lost the bet. That game has been running regularly for 6 months at least, it has nothing to do with the WSOP.

I was at a friend's funeral and one of his coworkers went up to give a eulogy.

"Man, Ben was boring. We all drink and smoke, he didn't drink or smoke. We all gamble too much, he didn't gamble at all. We'd be like 'Hey, man, let's go to the casino,' and all he ever wanted to do was be with his wife and kids. He was super cheap too. He never wanted to spend his money on drugs or gambling. He just wanted to spend it all on his wife and kids. We'd be like 'Hey man live a little,' and he never did. I mean I guess he got what he wanted so I guess that's okay. I mean that's good. That's real good. For him."

Don't let gamblers give eulogies.

They even had a must move last night.

The eulogy story made me laugh, whether it was meant to comfort his family or went the other way. Howard's response made me laugh (I guess it's all in the tone).

I guess I should be thankful for the folks mashing buttons at 6/5 JoB at Aria because the place wouldn't exist if it wasn't for them, but damn I kinda feel sorry for them. Or maybe they're just too rich to GAF

6/5 Jacks or better?

"He didn't want to gamble" is like the Nobel Prize of Degen.

Maybe he meant 6/5 BJ or 8/5 JoB?

I'd guess that 'mashing buttons' = Jacks or better.

Also: RIP SSLHE sub-forum. I was going to do my damndest to find a hand - almost anything - to post tomorrow but I might not get a chance to play. On Saturday it took until 2pm to get a second 8-16 going while there were 8 or so 2-3-300's, the most boring game in the world.

I need a new hobby besides cooking mom egg salad like I'm doing right now.

New hobby: Staking AF in the 20-40 OE

The players obv don't know a rotten deal when they see one. Shame on Aria, imo.
