Something maybe not quite as wise, but def entertaining, is the 100% certainty that when your cab driver picks you up at the airport and finds out you are in Vegas to play poker, he will offer you unsolicited advice on how to play poker in very general terms.
Some gems I got tonight included, "Play smart. Know when is the time to maybe use your chips as advantage. But of course, sometimes you have to know when is time to fight for another day. You know you are strong player and you know how to play strong."
Andy is a hardworking first generation Albanian immigrant who drives until midnight. He could be playing in bobby's room every night when he gets off for all I know. But the day my cab driver turns around and says, "Poker, huh? Do you employ a mixed strategy from the SB w your 2 cd draws when the HJ opens?" or "Even the online players will tighten up their push/fold ranges too much in live MTTs when the stakes are higher than the 109s they're used to 12 tabling, don't you think?" I will ask him/her to pull over, walk myself back to the airport, book the next flight home, and quit poker.
