I had a glass last night, 92 by Wine Advocate is silly, I give it an 89. But for $13 for a decent cab with some substance, pretty solid.

I got to have the "You don't need to carry a balance to build your credit" conversation with a friend that worked in "financial services" today.

I have a few comic book super hero tee shirts, including a GL (which glows in the dark!). I don't usually wear my comic book shirts to play poker. I used to, but I often lost on those days, so I stopped wearing them. I believe that skill wins out over luck ... but why take the chance that maybe those shirts are unlucky? :-)

On the other hand, while wearing that GL shirt 6 months ago, I did win a high hand in back to back 30 minute time periods, and then got a table share of a mini bad beat during the next half hour. That really confused me - now I'm not sure if that shirt is lucky or not.

It's two days after leg day that you have to look out for. After a particularly fierce leg day I'll walk like a 143 year old man two days later.

OTR SB checks, BB tosses his hand into the muck, some guy shakes his head and says 'Jack hi' showing only the Jack, I wait, he tosses the other card, a 7, I show, SB has J-6. I'm getting pushed the pot and they protest that it's a chop. An entire 10 seconds to convince them otherwise.

No strat posts for days. Doesn't anyone play LHE any more?

Also saw the more basic stuff, like limp/calling A7o UTG, calling PS turn bets with naked 9 hi FDs, checking behind AQ on KQ5dd-Ad-brick for reasons unknown. Maybe this NL game is easy after all.

The hard part is not falling asleep or just being bored to tears. Every single time I play the spread limit at Talking Stick it's the same, boring, tiny pot until finally two players have a big hand. We LHE players are used to big pots practically every hand (at least I am at 8-16) and I often wonder 'why are you sitting here you 80 y.o. fool? You might have 15 minutes to live and you're waiting for your big hand? Get your butt over to LHE while you still have the chance.'

I have an acquaintance - I wouldn't call him a friend; he's a major-league tool - who, when he gets into an argument with someone and can't convince them of his point of view - and this happens often; see "major-league tool" - will say to them, "You may be right," and walk away.

I'm going to be on a client site for the next 10-12 hours, so I'll check back then and pay up. As an added bonus, you guys pay double in stories and I'm willing to give a 1 day ban to anyone posting car stories ITT from this point forward. If you want your poker stories to count put either "move cars" or "move cars and ban" in the post. The voting window closes 5 PM EDT, tomorrow (I'll pay as soon as I see the votes). I will be the totally arbitrary judge of cool poker story, though people saying "that was cool" could sway the judge. Length isn't that important.
