2018 NC/LC - Misteaks Were Made - Page 40 - Small Stakes Poker Forum

A few years ago, I was having a great day, no wait. I was having the best day doing absolutely nothing but laying around with my lady friend. Then BOOOOOM. Some dickhead decided to blow up the Boston Marathon. I can't sympathize with those people that were hurt by the blast; I've never experienced anything like that. I'm not trying to downplay the significance of such an event; I can only make sense of the world through my own eyes. In that sense, Patriots Day was a turning point in my life. I'm still deeply in love with the same woman, 5 years thanks for asking, but things have never been so good as they were before that terrible moment.

I empathize.

Mine was August of 1998. I had just spent a summer in Nairobi installing wells and water pumps. A few weeks after I came back, BOOOOM a bunch of ****ing *******s discharged a truck bomb in the middle of the city.

We took the bus down that road every day. Even aside from the "wow that could have been me" factor, my shock was more that someone would have so little respect for human life - that section of the city was so crowded that not even the matatus (illegal taxis that packed 10+ people into a minivan) would drive through unless they needed to.

AND here's how to make everyone laugh at you in an 08 hand:

3-ways on the river, I'm last to act. First to act is a reg who plays ABC. Second is a wild action player, will pump it up w/ almost anything decent. I have the second nut low and a baby FH. It goes bet, call and I say 'they can't BOTH have me beat!' and raise, both call, I get nothing bec for once in his life wild action player didn't raise his slightly better FH. And laugh at me they did.

The ABC reg stopped to chat on my cig break and said: 'I didn't think you could lose to both of us either. That guy always raises a FH!' fml, I have to run into the one time the yo-yo didn't yo-yo.

Brined the meat. The other red in the background helped with a reduction, starting a mushroom sauce. Potatoes. Came together nicely with the 2003. Amazing and tender cut with a great game flavor.

I played for a few hours at a different time of day as compared to when I normally play. Twice within an hour I called a bet on the river, got the “ah - you are good speech” from the bettor and waited until he finally slownrolled a huge hand. Once it was clearly a assclown slowroll move. The second it seemed like a legitimate attempt at emotional hedging. Either way I have to take a deep breath and remind myself that these people are generally good for the game and admonishing them doesn’t do any good.

Ok feel better I got that off my chest.
