Which part of that statement is different at other casinos? They will do setup changes on demand? Or they don't replace marked/damaged cards?

One of the RAs at work played a home game over the weekend. He lost $50 on a "bad beat" (gutshot or something) and still is pretty mad about it.

It's always fun to remember what life was like before Teh Big Gambol. I put on my most sympathetic face and reminded him he got his money in good.

"That's brutal."

When I lose $50 now overall my response is always just "well that's probably less than the total rake so I think I'm ahead"

Shouldn’t be a sign that their loyalty rewards sucks but it still on ....

I have reach over 200 non open chest on pokerstars ...
I start to open them when I was warn the chests have an expiration date .
Had to waste like 30m to clear some but I won’t spend 2 hours on them tho ...

Played 4-8 full kill with my pops last night, summary of session:

Flop top two, get run down. Flop set, get run down. Flop boat, get run down.

I think I only lost 50 bets though so that's cool considering.

Did you think to make pops swear to keep the disaster a secret?
12-15-2018 , 01:38 PM
Pops knew mom would be very disappointed if she knew the extent of the damage so he took her out to lunch and a movie the next day and I cleaned the bathroom and kitchen so she would never think to ask. Dad did fine himself, only flopped a set of aces in TWO CONSECUTIVE HANDS (magic)!

You know you'd get torched if you posted this in the BBV forum where it belongs so you post it here

It's more like I know better than to post standard limit experiences in BBV

Talking Stick is having a 'Staycation' tourney series. One of the things on the placard announcing this extravaganza is 'Win a free entry by playing one of our satellites.' Can they really think that ppl don't realize that that's not free?

You realize it, Howard, and I realize it, but trust me, not everyone does.

Oh... Brits, not Australians. That makes so much more sense.

The Women's Auxiliary Air Force (WAAF), whose members were referred to as WAAFs /ˈwæfs/, was the female auxiliary of the Royal Air Force during World War II, established in 1939. At its peak strength, in 1943, WAAF numbers exceeded 180,000, with over 2,000 women enlisting per week.

Just strolled down memory lane when WAAF reminded me of Opie and Anthony in the mid-90s. I remember the outrage regarding the prank that got them fired. I didn't know they actually got fired.

If I were their legal defense team, I definitely would have used the "a reasonable person would have realized that these two should never be taken seriously" defense. I mean it was the 90s so it's not like you could have pulled up the news on your cell phone, but still ...
12-17-2018 , 06:50 PM
Was that when they announced that mayor menino died? Could they have been the first to spread fake news?
12-17-2018 , 07:07 PM
Yeah. I'd occasionally overhear them (and admittedly tuned in intentionally a few times to hear what the hype was) but didn't hear the prank myself, but read about it in the paper the next day.

Headlines read, "Radio Shock Jocks Inexplicably Take Joke Too Far." Or at least that's what it felt like, anyway.

Epic non-prank:

I don't know if you remember, but on March 31 / April 1, 1997 there was an epic storm. And I basically refused to believe it because I was convinced it was the world's biggest April Fool's Day prank.

It hadn't snowed for like a month, it was fairly warm, we had just wrapped up a week of spring break, and everyone's all "we're getting three and a half feet of snow tomorrow." FAKE NEWS
12-18-2018 , 12:51 AM
First fake news might have been Orson Welles' broadcast of The War Of The Worlds, though the idea that the response was exaggerated in order to discredit radio as a news medium may have been the actual fake news, or maybe it was some sort of inception of fake news.

My 11 y.o. son wanted to know the rules to poker, so I bought him a poker book for Christmas and he started reading it. Currently on Chapter "How not to lose (all your money)".

I never made it to that far...
