I sat down at a table that happened to have an empty seat to my left, and before we'd even played a hand another guy said, "Can I have that seat?" pointing to the seat to my left, and after the dealer said yes, he pointed at me and said, "I want to be to his left because he raises EVERYTHING".
I was actually flattered and a little bit stunned. People are actually adjusting their game to compensate for me!
A few hands later the seat to HIS left opened up, and I said to the dealer, "Can I switch to THAT seat just to piss him (pointing to him) off?" The table laughed. The guy happened to be wearing headphones and took them off and said, "What?". I repeated what I said, and he shook his head, rolled his eyes, and with a totally straight face and a totally serious voice said, "It's not that it would piss me off, it's just that I want to be on your left so that I know what your decision is before I act".
Aside: You ever been near those people who forget that they're wearing headphones when they start talking? He did that once, and I said, in a vocal volume that matched his, "Ever notice that when people have headphones on that they talk louder?" the table laughed, AGAIN he took off his headphones and said what, and after I repeated myself he looked embarrassed and said, "oops! sorry!"
This was probably one of those "you had to be there" jokes but there's no law that says every internet post has to be productive!
