I thought celiac disease was genetic, but I could be totally wrong on that. Also thought the cilantro thing is genetic. Not sure about shell fish, but isn't that deadly, regardless?

I’m in a liquor store. A dog just licked me.

Hey, I think I finally found a reason to go into a liquor store!

They just do that to entice you to buy booze for them. Don't do it.
05-24-2018 , 10:33 PM
That's no dog. That was rob's ex.
05-24-2018 , 10:44 PM
I had the owner arrested for assault

You should try the peanut butter store where the dogs lick you better.

This is a pretty dark joke for someone who once took a picture of his dog from the toilet.

I have no shame.

OK, we carefully cleaned one side of the kitchen. We used separate utensils. We carefully didn't mix any ingredients. Oh, you like the gluten full desert? That's fine, but it is basically saying that all the work that went beforehand was a waste of time.

Maybe it is just a Boulder thing, but it seems like 10%-20% of people who would show up somewhere have a "food allergy". It is described as being like a shellfish allergy -- straight to the hospital if not honored. My eyes tell me that for the vast majority, it is a preference. For the person who truly needs the special food handling to not be horribly sick, it seems a disservice. Just like for the person who truly needs the dog. At some point the rest of us think everyone is gaming the system.
Well neither celiac nor lactose-intolerance are allergies.

I had a roommate in college who had celiac. You knew it was legit because no one else even knew wtf gluten was at the time, but he was actively avoiding it (this was 2006).

He'd still come to mcdonald's with us and have a burger or something occasionally, he'd just accept the consequences of spending the rest of the night in the bathroom.

The vast, vast majority of gluten-avoiders are full of **** though. And studies have shown that gluten-intolerance does not exist outside of celiac disease. Yet there are millions of people claiming intolerance without being diagnosed with celiac.

I think it's fine to say you're trying to avoid gluten. (Or dairy. Or carbs. Or meat.) Just don't claim you have a worse problem than you do.

If someone says, "My god will strike me down if any meat product touches my lips," I'll Yelp a vegan restaurant and call to make sure their restrictions are met.

If someone says, "I try to stay away from meat," I'll Yelp a vegan restaurant but not call.

I know it's a few years old now, but the gluten conversation reminded me of this video:

I saw this hand at my table yesterday.

MP limps, SB calls, BB checks.
Flop: K88

SB immediately mucks. BB looks at the board and also mucks. As the pot is being pushed to the MP limper, he looks confused. SB says "the flop was too high for my cards".

MP shows his hand ... 86s.

MP obviously has a strength tell.

No money in LHE, everyone's solid.

LOL at the Celiac discussion.

There's money in gluten, every bm's liquid.

I believe The Orleans has most of the o8 action in town, spreading multiple steaks up to 15/30 with half kill. I went Saturday am and found low rake, lots of promos, and a fair number of regs. Still, decent games with multiple fun players. They're also on Bravo so Pope's Law applies.
I totally forgot to ask about this trip on Saturday: I was too busy displaying my prowess with women and playing a three like the nuts on 932-9-A.

Has anyone seen the mega degen videos on youtube of 2k/4k 4k ante NLHE of degen Chinese people + nosebleed pros? Same with the short deck nosebleed games?

Anyone have any simple strat for short deck?
05-29-2018 , 04:52 AM
The best strat seems to be to make a gazillion of crypto.

I open to 30 UTG at 5/10 NL, 4 people call behind me, BB makes it 85, everyone calls.

Big fish opens btn to 40, I call 7d7 BB

842dd check, 45, call

9d check check

Ks check check.

I show, he tables 88.

Someone limps and someone raises to 50 and two people call, blind makes it 300 and 3 people call, and 3 get it in on the flop.

Poker is dead, no more money, everyone's solid.

No strategy but I played HU short deck NLHE, short deck PLO and short deck PLO Drawmaha high in a private game recently and they were all very very fun and much better than their full deck counterparts. I'll try to play 6-9 or 6-T lowball next time and see how that game is. I expect short deck to be very popular in the coming years. The best part of short deck PLO is that it can't be played more than 7 handed

Improve your winrate by 0.3125 BB/hour! Go from being slightly unprofitable to being slightly less unprofitable!

Edit: What's the asterisk? What's the catch?
