There are new accounts that post dribble and the thread either gets locked or nuked. Believe me, you are not the worst OOT has ever seen, by far.

A very great many at Talking Stick do the same. I do it maybe 10% of the time when the turn action doesn't look very threatening and I think players might fold when I don't want them to.

Great room. Bright and clean. Good dealers, competent floor. Food isn't great.

8/16 is super, super soft and generally action. 20/40 can be hit or miss as there are some really good players in the pool and the bad players are generally making aggressive, showdown bound type mistakes. I can't comment on any other game or level.

Am I wrong to be tilted by something like this?

This is a gofundme of an acquaintance of mine. Doggie and other italics aren't names, I just changed them so they don't somehow see that I am posting this randomly.
Quote:
Most of you that know Doggie know that he is always in for a pick up game of basketball and always full of energy! Doggie is an important family member in the Peoples household and is the protector of Baby. On 10/29/17 he fell extremely ill and was admitted into the Vetrinary Intensive Care Unit and scheduled for many tests and procedures to begin saving his young life. He has been prescribed medications that will hopefully counteract some of the effects of his illness. My sister Sister and brother in law Bro agreed to a plan that would allow him the opportunity at life. This plan is agressive and so are the bills that will come. It is my hope that you will read this posting and get the feeling to help because any amount will absolutely help this young family through this process. I am forever grateful for your considered contribution. All the money from this campaign will go towards the hospital stay, doctor visits, surgical procedures and medications prescribed. Please take the time to share this with friends and family because this fun loving Doggie and Family needs our help.
Spoiler:
Already raised $470 from friends/family of the $2500 they need. If I had a pet, I could never bring myself to beg like this in a public forum. If you can't afford it, make the wise decision. Maybe you shouldn't of had a pet and a child within 2-3 years of being married if you can't afford it. People suck at budgeting and living within their means.

And the sandwich of the week was surprisingly fantastic this week. Although when I asked what it was the waitress said “it is a chicken club” and I said “oh what is that” and she said “it is a chicken club sandwich”.

Apparently that is a sliced up chicken breast with melted havarti on a multigrain roll, tomato, Dijon and pork shoulder bacon.

Who knew?

Do you hate crowd sourcing in general? Do you think young families shouldn't get pets because there might be large medical expenses? Do you think that spending thousands on a pet is silly, and if the bill is larger than $X, euthanizing the pet is best? Where's your exact point of tilt? At that point, maybe it will be clear.

That they worded it that they made the tough decision and are doing the honorable thing to let the dog live, so we need your money.

So your problem is their wording? I'd say that ranks about 2 on my tilt o meter. I presume all the E-begging sites are filled with heart wrenching sob stories about noble people and their galactic fight against the forces of evil.

That they're asking for money would probably be a 3, that they do it over the Internet is like 5. As a general rule, I'm more likely to give money to people who contact me personally.

That they're spending $2,500 on a dog would be an 8. Irony of this being a poker forum aside, that's a lot of money that could help actual people.

It's like 35 a month and you usually get like 90 percent of vet bills back. Its probably not the greatest deal but it's likely worth it considering the alternatives. I pay like 250 a month for life insurance which is probably a lauagble vig as well but it let's me go to sleep easier which is worth it to me

Not even trying to cover it up anymore. Just alternating between accounts.

Yeah, but on the life insurance front you're talking a million plus in payout and the beneficiaries are disproportionately young children. I'm not going to spend $250 to make sure I don't pay $2,500, but I'll gladly spend $5,000 to make sure my kids don't have to pay $500,000.

I assumed he was logged in with one account from his phone and the other from a computer, and just never bothered to sign in/out.

I didn't think a good Christian would have taken the lord's name in vain.

What bothers me is the complete lack of specifics with respect to the illness. It's like, "My dog is real sick and is in the dog ICU (never heard of a vet's office with an ICU, though perhaps he's at a University vet school) so send me money. This would tilt me if I knew the person, but not because I thought they were financially irresponsible for having a dog that got sick. It's because they're asking for money without providing enough information that would allow me to determine the merits of doing so.

Are doggie diagnostics good enough to determine what's wrpng?

Pretty much the answer to this is yes. Vets use the same tools on people.

Start with a physical exam and blood test.
Ratchet up to xray and ultrasound.
Needle biopsy...then 'exploratory' surg.

Anyone know where I would find the old micro's library thread? I am trying to find my X hand PLO milestone post and am horrible with searching (almost as bad as I am at PLO)

Hope all is well with everyone.

I use Google to search 2p2 for my old threads. This joint has the worst search function of any site I visit.

Spoiler:
This being just about the only forum I visit, though.

So I'm at the park with my son and we are on the playground that's clearly designed for young kids and a 30 something guy strolls up rips the shirt off and starts doing some stupid crossfit workoit on the money bars and stuff.

Now I don't Know if we give him the benefit of the doubt for being some super cool urban crossfitter or just tryijg to impress some hot mom or if we say gtfo and go to a gym

Like who wakes up in November and says I think I'll stroll down to the park take my shirt off and get in a good workout in between these 4 year olds playing on the same equipment
