Sat the MM 8-16 OE w/ the main game right behind us. W/I TWO minutes I hear the dealer announce 'first hand of Omaha' followed a second later w/ 'YAMAHA!' shouted by some fool that's lucky I'm not God.

In many ways.

Speaking of Omaha here's what can happen when you look left (always look left). I'd gotten involved in a capped-pre 6-way hand holding A35:7. NM how the hand played out, I may have made a small error, though. OTR it's 4-ways, I was second to act and first bets. I've got A's and 3's and a bad low w/ the 7-5. The pot is massive. I'm thinking about it and look left where the other two players have their cards in their hands ready to muck. I call bec the pot is massive and I've got SOME chance. It ended up that my Aces-up got half despite the 3 wheel cards and the first character won low w/ his 7-4. I think I'd have had to fold if the two behind me weren't showing fold themselves.

Or Denver. Peyton Manning's legacy: Omah..... is still part of the audible signals.

I skipped the evening coffee last night. However, it didn't go well as I passed out into a pizza coma after dinner around 8pm.

Yeah I know I play online ...
This does not even work perfectly for chess. There was the Polgar, Kasparov incident for example where Polgar didn't call him on it. The rule is hard for a director to enforce in an actual tournament.

Attention poker players: if you're a tall guy (or gal) in the 3 or 7 and the tiny dealer asks you to push your chips in a bit further, just do it and don't complain that she's not doing her job, that the chips are over the line. You're slowing down the game, and you and I both benefit if we play more hands/hr

A visitor sat the 8-16 OE and it took me one orbit of each to know he had more than a clue. Then a hand came up where there was no low otr and it was HU and he bet. When he just got called he said 'you win' and showed the second nuts. No raise from the other guy but he came out w/ 'you win.' Later a funky hand came down between me and him. I'd flopped trips but running Kings came and I didn't like it so I checked and called his bet and he says 'I missed' and showed 3 Kings for the win. I say 'you said you missed' he says 'I missed my low' and it didn't bother him in the least. If you ever read that I've flown over the table to strangle another player it will be for something like this. In this case I took a walk.

One, I know exactly what you mean. There are several players at Canterbury who do this **** all of the time.

Secondly, congratulations on 19,999 posts. Better make 20k a good one, Howard!

Damn, I missed it! I'll make up for it w/ this:

AlwaysFolding is not only a handsome man but he's also powerful and dynamic. He is a premiere poster on 2p2 whose posts everyone enjoys. He brings interesting and fun things to do wherever he goes and is welcome everywhere.

Figure out the movie I'm riffing on.

But we all know that in context and out of it this is an incredibly false statement.

Unfortunately!

I keep hearing about Canterbury. I'm not from Minnesota. What are your impressions?

The dealers are generally good and aside from the regular human error they do a good job. The floor is personable and accommodating. They had ****ty cards for a long time but now the texture/quality is improved.

Game selection is possible at 8/16 and 2/100 spread only. Frequently 2 games of 20/40 running, good player pool. 2/4 runs, but 3/6 is the game of choice for micros these days. 4-8 fires off occasionally, 6/12 is hit or miss and will often be the game of choice for the old nits or 8/16 players waiting for a seat. If you want mix games you'll see 10/20 run a few times a week, otherwise 40/80 and 50/100 are your only options. Occasionally there will be multiple tables of both and they can be soft as kitten tits but that's obviously dependent on the day.

I don't think I'm missing anything, HF can come in and correct me.

The first time I posted in OOT I got banned for a day.

The second time I posted in OOT I got banned for two more.

It was a good time in my 2p2 posting career!

Meh, that's prob not even close to the record.

I'm honestly trying to figure out how you can beat that. LarryLegend just whacked me upside the heat the moment I walked through the door.

I like him though. I don't think he cares but I like him.

Playing 9/18 and 8/16 in Vegas lately, no one raises the turn when they make a flush. Is this a trend elsewhere also?
