You're missing the point of your story - play those more often and you make more straights!

Give 'em the ole "I thought it was Omaha/8" bit.

More straights sounds good.

I once coldcalled a preflop cap with 53o.

Rivered a straight, natch.

And we've undermined the whole theory of "if a nit raises on the river he always 99.99% has the mortal nuts" because A) he had a hand that is 99.999% never in his range and B) he raised a str8 on a paired board.

Bravo.

Whaddaya mean 'nit?'

Today may have been the perfect storm of a session. Played 2 hours, won 40 big bets, $100 in promo money and comped lunch. I had to walk in and out in the rain but that was acceptable. I feel like this is sustainable long term.

80's music re-discovery rules:

Name an artist from the 80's that had a few big hits that you've re-discovered recently, and name their best hit. Post the Youtube video.

I'll start.

Artist: Toto
Best song: Africa

Wrong, their best song is "99".

What about recent electropop remixes of old 80's songs?

REO Speedwagon, Time for Me to Fly

Live version for extra fog and hair value.

Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb

Got interested again because I saw the tribute band on tv, Brit Floyd, do a great version of this on stage.

Thorogood was at Talking Stick a short while ago, ofc I went. He sold out the banquet room that they use for big acts including standing room that had some poor unfortunates up against the front wall which is awful. He did his best to play to them by going to the side of the stage, but still. Great show and he must be a terrific guy bec if you check his wiki page most of the band has been w/ him since the beginning.

Holy crap, Howard Beale notwithstanding, you guys (re)listen to some terrible music in the 80s! Last week I was enjoying a pint of Ghost Face Killah at Twisted Pine (not available unless you're at the brewery I believe) when I saw some little kid wearing a t-shirt with a great band that started in the 80s, enjoy:

https://youtu.be/07Y0cy-nvAg

Me: "Alexa, play songs from The Beastie Boys!"

Alexa, in her unexcited monotone: "Shuffling songs from Beastie Boys"
