Flop is QJThh and it checks to me (lol), I bet and everyone calls (one AI). Turn 6h I bet and everyone again calls. River 4s, I bet, Persian guy calls and everyone else folds. AI guy flashed me AhQs and the Persian guy I mucked.

Pretty sure I would have not bet the turn when I first started playing. Or maybe the river.

Correction: I was the BB and I did not call pf

Yes but did you immediately calculate the pot size after the hand?

haha - 4 limpers and I raise Ah Th on the button, blinds call and limpers call. Checks dark all the way to the CO lol.

Ac Tc 5d

CO checks and I bet and get 4 callers.

4d

Checked to MP who donks...not to get too much C in the LC thread, but this guy is a 20 player waiting for a seat and while he'll splash around a little, he doesn't have to have the nuts to do this. CO calls, I raise, everyone calls.

3s

Checks all the way around to me and I'm thinking a 2 would have led out so I can clearly go for value here...but I check anyway.

SB and CO chop it up

--

ETA: Oh, another one...old, rich guy raises in position after limpers. This guy is pretty tight and pretty passive, like incredibly passive at times. I 3! KK from the SB, one limper calls and he 4! ****. Like, I can't muck here without seeing the flop, but let's just say his range is heavily weighted towards AA. The limper is also quite well off (not sure why these folks are playing 6-12, but they're pleasant enough at the table) and is always chatting with the guy, like they go way back.

766

No joke, I really want to just fold here.

9

I'm hating life, but on the odd chance he actually did this with QQ or has the other KK, I decide to call down.

8

I check and the limper bets out....well that pretty much seals it. He mucks AA faceup and because he was in, I know she'll show so I muck KK facedown and she tables the JTo.

Betting river in second hand would be beyond bad.

Hand #1?

Also for #2 maybe I've just been getting called down with worse at an absurd rate (Worse over pairs, top pair, second pair...)

Hand 1 I'm not sure if I would bet or not, I would have to be there; as the poster said, he felt like he should, but I guess something told him not to do so, and was right.

Hand 2 he said the guy betting the whole way was super heavily weighted towards AA, and that board runout favored the 3rd guy.

I actually agree and even said something like, "Nobody bet into me, so I doubt anyone has a two, but I'll check anyway..." at which point, SB shows 8c 2c and CO shows Qd 2d

On paper it certainly looks like a bet....but I'll trust that your spidey-sense told you something was up which made you wisely check behind.

I do think sometimes you can pick up on small tells that someone checked a very strong hand, sometimes even unconsciously.

On this date (Aug 2) in 1876, Wild Bill Hickok was shot in the head and killed by Jack McCall (described as "an unsuccessful gambler") while Wild Bill was holding a 5 card stud hand of two pair - Aces and 8's, now knows as "Dead Man's Hand". I looked up Wild Bill on Wikipedia, and he led a very interesting life, including being involved in several shootouts and fighting off a bear.

Makes you wonder how many value bets get missed along the way to make an expert check back with the near nuts.

I guess Deadwood was on tv long enough ago that some people here didn't see it. But they're probably under 25.

There was a Royal Flush on the board the other day in the 8-16 which someone says is 650,000:1. That sound right?

Yes.
However, I present to you an even rarer board:

IIRC, in Ultimate Texas Hold'em games where the progressive pays on such a board, the payout is 1000-1, so yes, this sounds right.
