Flop: A74. I check, he bets, folds around to me, I raise bec 'ZOMG!', he 3!s, I 4!, he calls.

Turn: A. I bet, he shuffles his chips a bit and calls.

River: 2. Bet, reluctant call, and I show. The fellow doesn't get mad but we have this conversation:

'You did the same thing to me 20 years ago w/ a pair of 4's. The same exact thing when I had A-K except it was 20-40 and it cost me a lot of money.'
'You remember a hand from 20 years ago and that it was me?'
'Yes, I think about it from time to time. You did the exact same thing w/ a pair of 4's.'

I know that I have a few very memorable hands but nothing as standard as this one and I wonder if similar stories might make a good LCP thread.
Fake news.

20 years ago you would have donked the flop so this can't be true.

Casino poker since Resorts International opened their poker room in the early 90's. He mentioned one of the old CAZ locations, though, so it was probably more like 18 or so years ago.

The entire crew has been trying to get me to c/r all of my big flops out of the blinds and no matter how much I protest they lol at me so now I c/r.

The hand was probably played when poker was at the building at the McKellips location bec he mentioned the raised top section.

I don't even remember the end of the whole donking sets debate. Didn't it come down to Howard erroneously thinking that if he led a set in an unraised pot it was donking?

That was only part of it; his standard seemed to be the actual donk in raised pots as well.

On a scale of 1-10, how hard is it to beat the 8-16 @commerce for $8-9hr with the sky high rake? tks.

Yah, I got the terminology wrong as well as the strat, at least as far as this crowd thinks. I've settled on 10% donking and 90% c/r.

How much is the rake and how does the game play? IOW, big action or not?

I haven't played much in the Commerce 8/16, but I'm guessing having balanced ranges would likely be a handicap there, not a help.

So if you get out a notebook to see what you did the last 9 times we know you got a set?

Re: 2017 ustakes NC, where the steaks are wafer thin (Low Content Thread)

I think occasionally it is right to donk a set, depending on your position in relation to the preflop raiser, the board texture, and the tendencies of the players at the table. Might result in about 10% frequency.

I have nearly completely eliminated balance in my game bec it's absolutely unnecessary. They don't care if you've shown big pairs or A-Face 95 out of the last 100 hands. I think that some of them take it as a challenge.

Not that easy. I do it w/ other type hands as well.

Good evening everyone. I've been busy with real life stuff the past few weeks but things are settling down finally. So expect lots of trolling in the near future.
