Guy limps 93dd utg+1, rivers 2 pair for the win and after getting some grief from the table he tells us he is only here today because he didn't fly to the WSOP. I managed not to laugh.

Thanks Howard and company. Appreciate the serious answers, I'm used to BBV-esque responses to questions so this has been helpful.

I'm predicting that the game is going to play loose, if not half maniacal. With people that age playing a large number of possible games is bec they want to have fun and gambooool is fun and I'm assuming that the modest stakes are designed to keep any of them from losing more than what they think of as 'fun money.'

Maybe there are some youtubes you can watch on the various games.

Pretty dissapointed in Renne's performance last night. Pittsburg's arena seems to be his kryptonite. If the Pred's can force a game 7, maybe he should enlist the help of a voodoo princess, maybe sacrifice a live chicken or something.

As a testament to Nashville's enthusiasm for the team, Bridgestone arena sold out last night... for an away game! Granted tix were only $15, but still.

It's great that hockey is big in some of the "warm-weather" cities.
Have youth teams seen some growth?

I don't play much except to kill time or when I'm just bored every once in awhile. Playing on Ignition which used to be Bovada.

Anonymous poker sites suck. Can't play with friends or chase fish around on the tables. Hell, you can't even see the tables anymore in the lobby and pick your own table in Ignition. I definitely miss the old Pokerstars, Party Poker, Full Tilt Poker, etc. days.

meh, I could have sworn you were player #7 at a table I observed. #7 was the only player I saw as nitty as you are.

The wife and I going to Bullhead City/Laughlin in a couple of weeks. Maybe I will run into a bigger nit at a live table there. "Live" refers to the table, not sure all the players will be live. rofl

When you haven't won in 15 years (seriously, I've never, ever seen him win) then you will become him but it's not possible. I don't even think it's possible w/ him, either, tbh. He MUST have put up a win in 15 years when I wasn't there.

I'm going to take another break, having just taken one via non-gaming vacation, as there is absolutely zero chance I'm playing whatever passes for an "A" game even at hand #1 right now, but I should probably just quit poker because I'm getting nothing out of it at all.

Today's session start, chatting with the floor...

"How are you, offTopic?"

"Well, no one wants to hear about your golf game or how bad you run at poker, so I'm just great!"

(Very first hand, raise QQ after a couple of limpers, bet J-high flop, turn J and get checkraised by a tight-passive.)

Currently 3 for 3 WSOP events:

min-cash $1500 O8
min-cash Colossus
5th in $1500 HORSE

Seems like I should share since I post here occasionally.

I'm not sure, but I'd bet they soon will.

Doug ,they have been perfecting pit BBQ in Arkansas since before refrigeration.

Howards reference to airplanes and reefer trucks is valid but dipping into local tradition might be more rewarding.

Get some real "Q" in Arkansas and save the sushi craving for your next trip to San Francisco or somewhere coastal, imo.

My Theory of Gamestarting Limit Holdem

When you're new to a site, you'll get action from almost everyone and they'll usually try to run you over until you prove that you know how to press the call button a lot.

When you're an established regular gamestarter, you'll mostly get action from bad players unless you're really bad at holdem.

Your winrate, while mostly dependent on your skill level, is also dependent on which category you fall into. If you're really good, your winrate per hour in the former case will probably exceed your winrate in the latter. However, your winrate per hand will probably be higher in the latter case specifically because of the player types that will give action.

cheers.

The 20/40 half kill at the bike is super soft. It's easier than cp 8/16
