I cashed out chips for the first time ever after an Omahaha session. Not only that, but $24 more than I bought in for.

Have you been there in the summer? If not, this trip may convince you to keep shopping. Also, why not Laughlin? Same hell-hole-ish region but no state income tax. Plus wsop.com access.

There are lots of places in AZ that are more pleasant, although poker access is not great.

I took mom to Laughlin once bec we got two free nights and then drove up to LV for two more and I considered the two free nights to be overpriced. Plus, I don't have any tattoos and if you don't have tattoos you don't belong in Laughlin. Unless you want to sport around on the river (an actual river) which seems nice.

And here's what happened on one of the nights: I was the only player at the craps table at 2am and the pit boss told me that they were going to close the table after I crapped out. I exclaimed WHAT?????? you're going to close the table while there's a player? His answer: 'You're the only one. You can play BJ if you want to.' lolololol..........

The generational vocabulary gap is catching up to me. I ask people in these casinos where the coffee shop is, and they point me to Starbucks.

What if your friends have enough tats to make up for your lack? I ask because I also don't have any.

bitcoin thru the roof at the moment.

So I switched my contact email with PokerStars because yahoo blows. Had to log on to get it done, and when I did I found >5k starscoins that I didn't know I had. Sweet.

Also, I'm a 1.6 chip play money millionaire still.

Oaks pink = 1k

I never knew 500 chips existed outside of Vegas.

The Japanese government recognized it as currency and Asians have been hoarding them. I think there's a ridiculous arbitrage opportunity in South Korea right now, like $4000+ per bitcoin vs $3000 or wherever it is in the US.

For any serious investor (Jon?), I think that last part is a bad sign. It means there's a serious lack of liquidity in the market. I'd add up "ending up a paper millionaire" to my worries about it as an investment, much like owning a million shares of dot com stock when the average daily volume is in the ten thousands.

All we had at oceans for awhile were $500.
They finally added yellow 1ks within the last two years.

Gonna be an alternate in a 5/10 mix game on in a couple days, I really only know:

Stud-hi
Razz
S8
O8
BigO
HE
2-7TD
A-5TD

Anything else I should be aware of? Average age of game will be ~65 if that helps.

Badugi/Badacey/Badeucy IMO

badugi is 4 cards, need all four suits for a badugi, 1-2-3-4 best hand?
06-07-2017 , 02:32 PM
Good thing it's only 5-10 and everybody might fall asleep at any minute.

This is correct, also need no pairs to be a badugi.

The other games mentioned are split pot between the best badugi hand and the best 5 card lowball hand. I'm guessing 65+ guys won't be playing much of these though.

badeucey would be 2-7, badacey a-5??

Yes. Of course if this is a home game, there is a possibility they are playing by unusual rules or giving games a different name. Just make sure you know the rules clearly when a game comes up.
06-07-2017 , 02:56 PM
Home game for sure. Haven't played there before and I haven't played for actual dollars outside of a casino in years, so I appreciate it.

How'd you get invited to the senior's game?
06-07-2017 , 06:01 PM
I'm no Badeucy expert, but in playing that game, you should favor strong Badugi's. It's rare that you'll be quartered if you have 6-4-3-2 or 5-4-3-2, but you can hit a 7 or 8 and potentially scoop the entire pot. And don't overrate crap two way hands pre-draw (so something like T9753 2-7 / T753 Badugi). Jamming that is probably equivalent to the dude who three bets UTG raisers in O8 with A532 because wheel draw.

Bravo shows 9/18 mix at the Wynn.

They used to have an awesome 9/18 20 game mix at Aria. Last couple times I was there it didn't run though. Game was a blast.

Hello. I'm Anfernee. Nice to see familiar faces come out of the woodwork.
I guess I'll be lurking here. Seems cozy.

Dad and I go to the local card parlor.
Dad plays with guy talking about X who wasn't there.
Dad mentions that he knows X from high school.
Guy gives dad business card, requests email.
Immediately invites dad to the home game.
Eighth player declines, dad suggests alternate so game will happen (me)
I get solidified as player eight.

All I have to do is not alienate dad. That's all I gotta accomplish. Maybe just won't talk unless it's "yes sir, no sir."

Hey, you old fart. I see we are both still kicking.

I don't play much except to kill time or when I'm just bored every once in awhile. Playing on Ignition which used to be Bovada.

Anonymous poker sites suck. Can't play with friends or chase fish around on the tables. Hell, you can't even see the tables anymore in the lobby and pick your own table in Ignition. I definitely miss the old Pokerstars, Party Poker, Full Tilt Poker, etc. days.

aka Player Number 4 on Ignition
