Confirmed the rule is weird. Free blinds, imo. Accept it and be happy.

Ha - and to top it off I went to the 20 game and they did it the "normal" way such that there were two BBs and then a small otb.

You also have to post in that game.

Cross post for posterity in case they decide to modulate my post in the theory forum, where I just wrote a little story.

Quote:
Depends on how you look at it:

a) a guy thinks he knows what gto poker is so he just plays that way.

b) a guy thinks he knows what exploitive poker is so he just plays that way.

now take em both through this warp:

Spoiler: Hide
The first guy plays n+1 hands vs a gto bot and breaks even. Great he really did know gto after all.

The second guy plays n+1 hands vs an exploitive master and they slowly but surely creep closer and closer to gto. Great they're near maximally exploiting each other.

They come out of the warp and discuss their findings:

a) "Man I told you I knew gto whooot!"

b) "Man I told you I was an exploitive master."

Then they high five.

The end.

Draw your own conclusions.

after they both go and play live with a bunch of idiots the genius will have less money

I got caught bluffing yesterday in a no limit holdem tourney:

I raise T9o on the button, only the big blind calls.

Flops KJ3 with a couple spades.

checks through.

7 spades. I have the Ten of spades.

he bets 2/3 pot with a lot behind. I call.

2o

he bets 1/2 pot, I raise 2/3 pot, he calls with KQ. I lose 1/3 of my stack.

Very next hand:

utg 6 handed raises 3x, I call in the cutoff with T9s of spades. folds around.

flop JQK all spades.

he bets 3/4 pot, I call.

5o

he bets 1/2 pot, I call.

6o

he bets 1/2 pot, I shove 1.25 pots on top or so. He calls and shows AA.

Cash game they fold to a turn raise way more than they ought to.

Bona, have you seen tomorrow's forecast for Bullhead City? 121 degrees.

............and half the players at Talking Stick will have brought jackets including me.

A few months ago I took a few bets from a gamestarter and then I took a break because I had been playing all morning, not because I wanted to lock up the win or anything stupid like that. I come back after the break and he sits out after two hands. Now he sits out after two hands whenever I sit and he claims that there is no point in playing. I said maybe a game will go if we play. He leaves the table and starts a new table.

There is no moral to the story except to say that bumhunters piss me off.

/rant

oh good morning.

About five or six years ago, I had the same problem, mostly with beef, but occasionally chicken. Finally, got a piece of stellar prime rib eye stuck that wouldn't go down or come up. Called one of my surgeon pals who took me to the GI lab about 10:30 at night, removed it with a scope, then dilated my esophagus. No problems since then, altho I will tell you I chew my food a bit longer.

Eta: When I say I have "serious doubts" about this being an air pocket, you should take that to mean you don't have an air pocket. You are experiencing an esophageal meat impaction. And incidentally, your EGD (scope) may well be normal. I'd explain to the doc that this is happening more frequently and ask him about doing the dilatation..
I'm late to this discussion but I have had the same problem for years. It feels like an esophageal spasm. I had a scope done twice with the dilation. It helps but I've learned to eat slower and drink more while eating.

Dr. on Thursday thinks this might be it.

But I'm seeing a GI specialist soon-ish?

Ignorant ass conversation of the day

Him: "Did you know that 46% of Americans don't know that meat comes from animals?"

Her: "I did not know that but I totally believe it." (I thought she was being sarcastic at first but nope.) "Where did you see that?"

Him: "I read it on the Internet home page." (Again, not sarcastic.)

Her: "Which one?"

Him: "The home page. The one that comes up when you open the Internet."

Two hands from last night, playing 4/8 with a $500 bonus for a high hand (4 awarded per hour).

I raise 9s9c UTG, and getting all the respect I deserve, it is 7 players to the flop for 2 bets each. Flop Kh7h3d. I bet and get 4 callers. Turn 9d. I bet and get 2 callers. River 9h. I bet, no one calls, and I flip up quads and 5 minutes later get awarded a nice bonus.

The dealer was shocked that I bet the flop. Several players loved to call every flop, and with 14 bets in preflop, I was probably going to have the odds to set mine the turn, so I figured the bet would go in better if I led out. Plus, maybe no one has a King and I'm ahead.

An hour later, I'm in the CO with A3cc in a 7 way limped pot (yeah, this game was great) and the flop is 2s4cQd. There is an EP bet, a MP call, and I call getting 9-1. Not quite enough immediate odds to draw just to the straight, but with implied odds and I might also have outs to hit an A, I call. Button raises and EP better makes it 3 to go. Now I'm getting 14-2 plus threats of more raises, so I let it go. It gets capped (5 bets), so my read was correct, but ... turn 5c, river 2c. I've never had a steel wheel - and I still don't. Oh well.

Why wasn't it 7 ways for two bets?

Because people were limping things like KQ and AQ, which is what the 2 people left in the pot had.

Hope he played with his wife at a different casino from where he played with his girlfriend.

I feel like I already explained what was going on in the post? I was there 3+ weeks and I played 4/8 one day so that's a really bizarre takeaway.
