Micro stakes, one step up from play monies.

That's the ones you have to watch out for.

Still, you avatar is not as scary as your older clown one. So, maybe you have mellowed. Maybe.

Oh, I'm wounded.

Of course, I never said I was a very good player.

Hi Callipygian.
I thought you had almost completely moved over to the dark side.

You can take the limit out of poker but you can't take the limitard out of a poker player.

In a more serious introduction, I'm SetOfJacks.

I used to play semi-professionally on full tilt, 2/4-5/10 FR LHE, cashed out about 4k/month until black friday, then I got a real job. I also used to post here all the time.

Started playing again recreationally last year, 4/8 kill at running aces. Did well at the beginning of this year and had $1100 in the bankroll.

I decided to start playing seriously again in January, and crushed 8/16 at canterbury, moving onto 20/40 when I reached 4600.
Now at 23k.

Some of you probably recognize my story. Hello.

You played semi-pro on full tilt and then you jumped into....4/8 live?

Hi I'm Bob, but my name ain't Bob. When I first started online poker way back when about sixteen years ago, I took the name bob147 on ultimate bet. I've had a few other internet aliases over the years. When I joined 2+2 in 2008, I figured Bob147 was the correct screen name. Then the site got hacked in 2012 and I reregistered under the name Bob148. Sometimes I wonder what Bob147's private message inbox looks like.

I'm a m******* through and through. Haven't been out of New England in quite a while and that's the way I like it. I like animals, particularly dogs, the outdoors, and putting on three point exhibitions at the local basketball court.

I also have a penchant for stating theory as fact and sometimes string together odd sentences like this:

This Thread is False.

I also like making music and playing poker, which I find to have similar challenges. May sound nuts but here's an explanation:

When you play a song, you're gonna **** up sometimes. However, as they say, necessity is the mother of all invention. Music is no exception. Some of my best moments with instruments have come when I **** up. Then I must improvise and regain the momentum without losing the rhythm or the key. Poker is very similar, especially when you play heads up because the action keeps on coming even after you make a bad decision. It's easy to **** up a poker hand, but sometimes when you get tangled up, the only thing to do is tango on, so to speak.

I'm nowhere near as accomplished as most that post here, and because of that sometimes I feel like I don't fit in. I think we're very lucky to have engineers, scientists, and doctors among the crowd here. There are differing points of view on nearly every subject we cover here and we've covered a lot of subjects over the years.

Next April will mark ten whole damn years since I joined 2+2. I'm trying to think of something interesting, controversial, and or fun to talk about in the meantime. I'm open to ideas.

So yeah, Hi I'm Bob, but my name ain't Bob.

cheers.

I more-or-less quit playing altogether for about 4 years then played 4/8 recreationally when my friends were willing to go with.

I never understood why RA can't get anything beyond a microstakes game. I've only played there a couple times but it was like moving the earth to get a 5-100 game going. Totally not worth playing there. Did meet Palomino though.

I am almost finished with the last book in the Three Body Trilogy, and I feel like I have coincidentally (?) slipped into an alternate dimension where 5-out-or-fewer draws are actually a favorite against me. Hopefully I will soon be

Spoiler:
absorbed into a two-dimensional plane with zero thickness

and put out of my misery

From what I hear their 2-100 Omaha Hi game plays really big, with players buying in for 4k and pots frequently reaching 1000-1500.

RA hasn't had action outside of the 2-100 Omaha since 2014. Totally agreed.

The 2-100 is a sick joke of a game either way though. You been on that 10/20 kick at Canterbury though?

Scientisticians usually use the Greek letter mu for "micro" (m stands for milli). This becomes u when fancy symbols aren't available.

So microliter = uL, micropenis = upenis, etc.
