I'm not specifically referring to Doug's daughter since I don't know anything more than what he's posted; but, generally speaking, head injuries that don't cause a loss of consciousness, vomiting, visible trauma, or any focal abnormality on the neurological exam (e.g., abnormal eye movements or pupillary response, a demonstrated motor or sensory deficit, ataxia or an abnormal gait, etc.) do quite well. Obviously,
repeated head injuries, even without demonstrable neurologic abnormalities after any single injury, can have a cumulative effect on the brain. (Think CTE and early onset dementia, as examples.)
Non-severe headaches and/or transient amnesia are very common following even relatively mild closed head injuries and, as such, are not cause for undue concern. Unless, of course, it happens to your child in which case it'll worry the hell out of you.
And good morning Bob, my early morning friend.
