7-handed

Utg limps, I raise QJ next to act, blinds and utg call.

4-way, 8 SB: JT8
SB donks. He's a house player I believe, but not one of those nits. He's pretty loose, agro post, and has made several failed bluffs OTR after turn checked through. Also open raises lots of BNs to attack the blinds.

BB and Utg call. I'm not sure raising is good here so I flat. Let me know if I'm wrong.

4-way, 6 BB: K
SB leads, BB tank calls, Utg folds, I call

SB leads on a fourth OTR and takes it down.

Thoughts?

I would probably raise the river (as a bluff), as you can credibly rep the A as long as your opponent doesn't have it.

I like raising the flop, turn seems harder - can we justify a fold?

aggressive bluffy guy leads when 4th of suit comes on river is an auto raise. I've advocated this previously, its a great spot to raise. Given you have the right image at the time..

He was indeed bluff happy, but those were HU pots. It's a different story here. For him to triple barrel this board oop in a MW pot his range or equity should be pretty strong. It's really tough for SB to bluff this board otr. There's no reason why BB or I can't have a heart and just sigh call.

I could rep the A, but so can BB (before he folded otr...meaning it was still in his range at this point yet SB still lead out oop a third time), and so can SB.

How many A can SB have? He's likely not leading flop with the lone A, so that leaves essentially AJ, AQ, A9, or AX.

Meanwhile, he could have bet the flop with many lower flush draws, jacks, or pair+ straight draws.

I raise the flop. People tend not to donk out strong hands like straights or 2p, at least where I've played. So their range looks a lot like Ah9o and T9s and 9h6h. Maybe with some second pairs and weaker top pairs mixed in. Stupid **** like AQ may make it in yhere too.

As played, turn and river become difficult because you haven't narrowed his range at all from his preflop call. You're probably going to have to count 150 combos and see if you can find 20-30 to make calling worth it.

I know in some houses the prop players can't check-raise. Can you recall if you've seen him K/R? If he can't then he may just lead all his J's and some T's. In which case a raise on the flop gives you so much info. If he just calls and checks turn, unable to check raise, then you are most likely ahead of his range. If he leads turn then the bottom of his range is pair+A?

I can't imagine being able to play limit without K/R. Playing your blinds would be so miserable.

I really don't think that is true. I have played with lots of props and all were allowed to check raise.

Shills (house players playing with house money) probably were once not allowed, but I don't know of any places using them anymore.
