I don't know where else to post for linux stars support so I figured I would ask here.

Oh and I d/led the latest, nice work as always. Running great in my ubuntu 11.10. Thanks again.
stars official linux support here. i guess they owe me some ;-)

i haven't looked at the built-in hotkeys in depth. all i know is you have to put a check into the checkbox you find at: Options --> Hotkey Settings (Beta) --> [x] Enable Hotkeys

from my experience with TableCrab some keys are not supported by wine: assigning <Control+SomeKey> does not work. same goes for <Shift+SomeKey> and <Menu+SomeKey>. you will have to play around to find out what works and what not. all i can confirm is that assigning <ArrowDown> as hotkey to fold a hand worked for me.

can you tell me any more about your WINE settings? I can't seem to get mine to work. E.g. for application settings do you have XP, vista, W7, etc? How about "allow window manager to control windows"? I have it set up with XP and allowing the manager to decorate and control, and I can't get the hotkeys to register.

Sorry your program got supplanted but it's probably something Stars would have done eventually I guess.

Thanks in advance.

is it about getting the new stars hotkeys to work? if so, you are a bit off track regarding wine settings. just keep them as they are and whatever works works.

no need to feel sorry. actually the day TableCrab becomes superfluous is a good day.

no. iirc this is somewhere in the table menu two mouseclicks away. you best ask stars to throw in a hotkey for it.

news:
- HandViewer now supports viewing and browsing of all game types stars offers. this includes holdem, omaha, stud, draw, badugi and all mixed games (please report any game type missing)
- HandViewer: added a four color deck. see: (Settings-->HandViewer-->DeckStyle)

fixes:
- retrieving nash calculations from HoldemResoources was broken - this is fixed now

NOTE: the new release is backwards incompatible. you will have to reset the style sheet for the HandViewer. to do so go to (Settings-->HandViewer) and hit "Restore Default". this will load the new style sheet. if you made changes to the old style sheet, save it first and reapply your changes after restoring he new one.

i think it's just a missing regex in Tc2SitePokerStarsHandGrabber.py
Code:
PatGameHeader1 = re.compile('^PokerStars\s (Home\s)? Game\s \#[0-9]+\:\s* (?P<gameType>%s)\s.*' % '|'.join([re.escape(i).replace('\ ', '\s') for i in GameTypeMapping]), re.X)

Thanks for this awesome software, it has inspired me to have another go at programming and learning python.

A slight problem I'm having when running it from the source code (the executable is fine) with the hand history tool. The hand history gets cut off in the display, for example half way through the *** SHOW DOWN *** section.

It finishes like this: "*** SHOW DOWN ***
feralsock: shows [6h Ah] (a pair of Nines)
fumbo420: shows [8s 8c] (two pair, Nines and Eights)
fumbo420 col"

Whereas when running the same hand via the executable it finishes like this: "*** SHOW DOWN ***
feralsock: shows [6h Ah] (a pair of Nines)
fumbo420: shows [8s 8c] (two pair, Nines and Eights)
fumbo420 collected 1058 from pot
feralsock finished the tournament in 6th place
*** SUMMARY ***
Total pot 1058 | Rake 0
Board [3s 9h Qd 5h 9c]
Seat 1: Shutov795 (button) folded before Flop (didn't bet)
Seat 2: arsimlas (small blind) folded before Flop
Seat 3: feralsock (big blind) showed [6h Ah] and lost with a pair of Nines
Seat 4: fumbo420 showed [8s 8c] and won (1058) with two pair, Nines and Eights
Seat 5: veece01 folded before Flop
Seat 6: Bumbautz folded before Flop (didn't bet)"

So I totally miss out on the summary section. I haven't altered any of the code.

Any ideas on what could be causing this? I'm running Python 2.7 on Windows 7.

Thanks.

strange indeed. i am running from source on linux/wine and everything works as expected. if you feel like it you could start digging into python by trying to nail the problem down. a good starting point is in "Tc2SitePokerStarsHandGrabber.py" line 431. check if the hand history is passed to the method as expected by throwing in a print statement.

this method gets called by either PS instant hand history grabber (class InstantHandHistory in Tc2SitePokerStars.py) or hand history file parser (class HandHistoryFile in Tc2SitePokerStarsHandGrabber.py). next down in line is the WebKit browser who could be doing something wrong.

other than that you could PM me the hand history and i will have a look.

someone her running stars test client?

if so, would be helpful to PM me one or the other hand history showing "run it twice" so i can add support for it to the hand viewer.

took a look into the issue. for some reason i don't know the browser is not always requesting all data available so hand histories may get displayed truncated.

my best guess is that TC is hitting an issue in the underlaying Qt framework. have to find the time to upgrade TC to the newest version of Qt for a likely fix. no idea though when this is going to happen.

i do not have a 64bit built so chances are you are running into a compatibility issue. you could try running it in windows XP compatibility mode or run it as administrator (not recomended). drop a note if this fixes the issue.
