Hi! Recently, I’ve faced this issue while was helping another user.

This may happen, if you are trying to use a lot of large (~1GB, rivers are saved) *.cfr files for drills.

Please try to use files without saved rivers. This will decrease time of loading these trees into Pio and checking it.

How come custom drilling only allows flop scenarios and not turn and river?

Turn/river drills are planned for the future.

Can someone explain the Played [%] and Best EV action tabs to me?

From what I understand, Played tells me how often I should make an action according to Pio. Why is it that when I make a call here it tells me it's an error when the Best EV action is only taken 13.79%?

Another thing. My trainer runs really slow. It takes 20 seconds to go to the next hand, sometimes more. Also, clicking the Pio button doesn't open Pio Solver like it's supposed to.

Is my computer just not strong enough to go faster? Or could it be slow because the C/D drives are pretty full?

Hi, the best way to check it is open this flop file in Pio and look at EV for the action you have chosen.
It is likely that Call action has slightly negative EV. In some rare cases it is possible due to inaccurate engine calculations.

It is possible, added this to task list

1. Check path to PioViewer.exe in Settings. If this field is empty file will not open in Pio.

2. The speed depends on several factors:
- are flops saved with runouts
- are you using display of current player range

You can play with these factors to achieve optimal speed. Anyway using Pio in Trainer is a little bit slower then SPF.

I use pio and do flop+turn saves, river calcs happen pretty much instantly.
With the computer specs HipsterDufes has I would suggest doing the same.
Also clean up OS HDD space.

I am using trial license and tried playing around the Drill Mode using free solution pack but after I played 50 hands or so and ended the session there was nothing shown in the drill summary. I tried go the sessions browser also couldnt find anything there.
I also tried to create Drill Game using some simple postflop solution I purchased before, after setting the directory and selecting the node, i couldnt find anything to add.

We made an investigation of the issues with Hangson and found the following:

1) SGT was installed to “Programs and Files” folder. In some cases, it may cause restricted permissions on writing data at internal database. That is why application cannot save settings, training configurations or session summaries.
Solution:
a) Add permissions to the whole directory manually
b) or run application as Administrator
c) or move application to the other directory. It is preferred to keep the default path in “%appdata%”

2) Is it possible to use SPF packs in trainings?
a) You have got SPF Standalone license. Yes, there are no limitations
b) You have not got SPF Standalone license. Custom drill games work fine. Custom regular training is not possible, because this kind of training requires real time calculations.

3) If you are using Pio, please avoid of huge files with all runouts saved. This really slows down communication with Pio. Files with saved turns are absolutely fine and recalculation of rivers is much faster than loading 1GB file in your RAM.

1. I filled in this field but now I'm getting this error

PioViewer Error: The path contains illegal characters in part 'C:/Piosolver/saves/KsQd4d.cfr'

2. These are my settings. Running on a server now so computer specs shouldn't be an issue. My flops are saved with no runouts, but still I didn't think it would be this slow. Takes about 30 seconds to go from flop to turn. Turn to river is almost instant.



Am I just going to have to go with a bigger save size?

We have examined this issue and found the following. Our app saves paths using this slash “/”, for example, “H:/POKER/GTO Trainer [TEST]/preflop_new_version”. And this is absolutely fine for communication with SPF and PioSolver engines at all machines.

But in rare cases, at some machines PioViewer works only with standard Windows paths like “H:\POKER\GTO Trainer [TEST]\preflop_new_version”. Maybe it is related to the locale settings.
We will fix it in the new version.

Program crashes when I try to create a drill for a turn CB. Anyone else have this problem?

There are many factors that should be taken in account.
The most common situation is the following: user tries to create drills with full-saved files (~1GB each). Checking each file takes a lot of time and resources and the application freezes.
