Hey, please check if option "Use range to choose cards" is enabled. You can do it by selecting your game configuration and clicking on "Edit" button.

This is option is enabled by the default in the newest version.

Hey all, do I need to purchase simple GTO in order to test whether or not PIOsolver works with it? My .CFR files are often 5gb+ in size, and I just want to make sure that simpleGTO works with pio engine and my trees. Unfortunately it looks like the trial version doesn't allow me to use the piosolver engine?

1) Run Simple GTO Trainer
2) Open tab "Custom Games"
3) "Add" -> "Regular Training"
4) Set engine to "Pio"
5) Solution directory = directory with *.cfr files. Enable option "read directories recursively" if it contains nested files
6) Run training over all files in specified directory

I downloaded and installed this, but when I ran it I got an error about system resources and it won't run. Does this require a powerful PC to run?

Ok I ran simple script and have it in PioSOLVER>saves. I'm not certain whether or not it contains nested files. I searched Piosolver thread here and don't see any mention of this. Can you elaborate on what that means? Thank you

I'm not 100% sure that you are blocked. But, unfortunately users become very lazy and can't resolve minor questions. After that they write to Skype support. I guess it is not your case, but Skype is dramatically loaded.

Been working with drills today and seems like I get this weird bug in which I get the same flop + turn scenario all the time in some of the drills. Any idea how to fix this? Thanks

Another question. Is there any way to make PIOsolver drills to work on turns and rivers? If I imput a river scenario I always get the same runout I imput in the first place. Let’s say I wanna practice how to defend against bet/bet/bet lines is there any way to get different runouts every time?

Got the runout filter to work. It’s fine for turns but still not great for river spots since it may select turn cards in which you’re not supposed to be overbetting for example and it messes up the results in terms of BB/100.

Hey, if I got it right PioSolver scripts are used for calculating flops in automatic manner. Simple GTO Trainer works with already calculated and saved *.cfr files.

So using scripting could not help us.

You can provide example how scripting is useful for SGT and we will implement this feature.

SGT works with scripting feature as is. I can run a script and have the same tree with any # of flops. Once it’s complete the trees are saved in Piosolver>Saves folder. My question is do I need to [x]read directories recursively when creating custom games for these trees? In what instances do I need to select this option? I asked in PIOsolver thread and dev didn’t know what nested files were. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

The general question was “What is the best way to create a Regular Training custom game with multiple flops using PIO?”

Answer: SGT uses all flops in specified directory and chose them in random order.
You can check the option “Read directories recursively” to involve nested directories in file selection process.

For instance, you have following directory structure:
../dir_1/
----1.cfr
----2.cfr
----/dir_1/dir_2/
--------3.cfr
--------4.cfr
----/dir_1/dir_3/
--------5.cfr
--------/dir_1/dir_4/
------------6.cfr

Without option “Read directories recursively” only 1.cfr and 2.cfr would be chosen for training. If option is checked all files would be included into training.

The option is available at game configuration screen near box with directory path.

I've noticed the bot often chooses to do certain hands with very low frequency, or very high frequency, even though piosolver says to take such action otherwise.


For example, I have yet to see the bot checkraise turn, even though some of my trees often have raise turn at roughly 10% of range.

Or the bot will sometimes take a .01% line betting with an unusual hand that pio has pegged as definitely lower ev than checking.

Just curious if it pio and the bot are communicating frequencies correctly?

first of all, you need to check the following option is enabled:

1) Select your custom game configuration
2) Click on “Edit”
3) Enable “Use range to choose card” option (“Deal hands due frequency” in the upcoming version)

This should eliminate situations with non-frequently played cards.

In case, you are suspicious about frequencies, you can send us flop files to test.

A question about it: I am a little confused about the "SB 3b vs BU 50BB" regular training: I think you might have accidentally switched ranges between positions. SB has a 20.3% 3betting range that looks like a defending range (no KK and QQ in it, no AK etc but he's got all the pairs...), and viceversa, the player IP definitely seems to be sitting on a 3betting range. Can you check into that please? Ty! (I haven't noticed anything else weird for the rest of the reg trainings).

Ok, I think you just got the wrong name for it. It should be "BB 3b vs SB 50BB".
