Hello tonypkr7,

I just downloaded your software Pokerhands B8. I play 5 card draw so this is a most appreciated software.
Now I have been working all day to get it to work and finally everything works, but now after playing some 2 hours with the HUD on, the software suddanly breaks down and I get this error message.

EventType : clr20r3 P1 : pokerhands.exe P2 : 1.0.0.0 P3 : 49481019
P4 : mscorlib P5 : 2.0.0.0 P6 : 4333ab80 P7 : db P8 : 5
P9 : a4dh5wwiwww1yjtmp0c0kv4zwcalu4in

I see that the last post is abit old so i hope that you are still working on your program. If you or any one else for that matter knows how to solve this error i would appreciate it.

Thanks for a great software.

Ps: If you dont work on the software any more could someone tell me if here is another program which can do the same things as this.

/Jasp

25 dec doesnt seem so old to me; yes I'm still working on the program

Jasp, the problem you experienced is due to the hud not being very stable. I'm currently working on a newer version that will fix all of this mess. In fact the hud is almost ready and I'm working on different things that were mentioned earlier (ie: VPIP always showing 100% on five card draw, session start/end on session tabs, etc.)

I was able to play for 1h+ without any problem so I'm pretty sure the hud is going to be solid. I'm actually hoping to release a new version before we hit 2009

Teasing is not allowed. Yeah, glad to see the work in progress on the HUD. I played four or five sessions, worked perfect. Now, it's on "Christmas break" and won't work at all.

Can I have my money back? Oh, I forgot, I didn't pay for this.

That is great news. If you need some Pokerstars triple draw hands let me know.
Will the program and HUD be able to handle mixed games? Will it be able to capture hands and switch the HUD to different games quick enough to use while Mixed gaming?

That would be very nice! Please send them at support@cartridgesoftware.com. By mixed games, you mean like HORSE? I'm not sure, but I think it would require little to no work to make the program compatible with mixed games. Right now, if you were to play a hold'em game and suddenly the table switches to Omaha, you would still have the hold'em stats displayed. The thing is, PokerHands would need to be compatible with Razz/Stud/Omaha for this to make sense, and it's not the case

The two mixed cash games I play are HORSE and the Stars Mixed 8-Game (which is HORSE+PLO, NLHE, 27TD). At some point could the HUD switch quicker between say NLHE, 27TD, LHE and then not display a HUD for the unrecognized games? Combining any games would be nice for me, because using PT, PTO, PTS they cannot even share the same HUD. Honestly I am not even sure what the best way to do it would be. I just know I play so many mixed games, it sucks there is not even a Replayer I can load a whole session into much less a Tracker.

I look forward to the new version, and when you release your first real version you have a sure buyer in me.

GL with your program. I just swore off Full-Ring Limit Badugi forever. So unless Stars ever adds HPL/PL/NL, I wont ever need this. I am also moving this week, and wont have internet for some time.

Sad news fozzy. It was nice to have someone as enthusiastic as you around.

GrindUnumb> I'll have to make some changes for this to work. I'm not sure if it's going to work in the next version, but I'll definitely add this feature to the hud at some point.

Hopefully i will be able to get a decent internet uplink in January, and then get my new room built sometime in February. I imagine I will end up back on the micro limit tables to blow off steam eventually, but currently I am trying to trade away what little stars $ I have left for Paypal.

New version available: PokerHands 8.1

Download full version:
http://www.cartridgesoftware.com/pokerhands_b81.exe

Upgrade from beta 8 to beta 8.1:
http://www.cartridgesoftware.com/pok..._b8_to_b81.exe

Well I was hoping to release this before 2009, too bad I couldn't make it, but that was close
Nevertheless, happy new year!

This version fixes all the known bugs and crashes of the hud to date. I was able to play different games for hours without anything wrong. I think you can now finally enjoy the hud.

But that's not the only thing, this version brings a lot of new stuff:
  • PokerHands is now minimized to system tray and you can activate hud/live import from there.
  • Color ranges for the hud.
  • You can now disable hero's stats in the hud.
  • Save position of hud/Apply it to all other tables
  • Start/End columns for the sessions tabs
  • Files older than 2 days are now moved/copied with Live Import
  • Stats only show for the limit currently being played.
  • WTSD% was changed to comply with PokerTracker
  • ... please read changelog.txt for more information

The hud comes with 2 different themes for each game with color ranges preconfigured, but feel free to create your own.

I'm waiting for your comments. I'll be now working on 7-2 Triple Draw, 5CD support for OnGame and hud for Full Tilt.

Tony,

If we are upgrading, should we delete the old db and re-import everything new to be safe? Have a great New Year's. I'll let you know in a couple days how everything is working on Vista.

Well, I didn't get too far. The link for the upgrade doesn't work. I got to your site, clicked on the download of 8.1 and it just kept looping back to the same page..

I just went ahead and reinstalled it from scratch.

When setting up the HUD, using the default settings rather than classic, I was making additions/changes to the stats I wanted to show.

I haven't tried a game yet, but the "preview" pane below the setup only shows two lines during Holdem and Badugi. During 5cd, it only showed one line.

And, not sure how this works, but I was setting up a new Badugi theme in the HUD. Which I did. But it won't let me check the box for selection on either Badugi selection now. I have Classic and Badugi Custom, but can't pick either with a check mark.

After a complete uninstall, and then reinstall, I got back the option to use the Badugi Default, and it was already checked so I didn't mess with it. I re-did my own personalization of the stats I wanted.

Imports went fine. Set all the options. Made sure the database was all set and active.

Logged into a badugi game, played one hand (thank goodness I won). The first time the HUD tried to display my screen, I came up with the following error, which I copy/pasted below, and the PH Hud locked up and the only option that would work on the Windows popup screen was "close", so I did.

BTW, I just edited this post after giving it a second try after closing everything down, rebooting and doing it over...same message.

One other thing... (trying not to torture you too much) regarding the preview pane in the HUD configuration, where I mentioned in the previous post that it was only showing two lines, even though I had entered three lines.... it only showed two for the brief moment it displayed. Could that somehow be the error? Is it trying to display three lines when you might have only coded two lines for the HUD display? [and I won't mention that the "delete" does not work within the database screen ] I've already used AdminIII to fix that. Too early to know if the "move" feature works on the HH's. Have a nice day

Here's the error....

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

Aw, the link for the updgrade was http://www.cartridgesoftware.com/fil..._b8_to_b81.exe, sorry.

Dog, I bet $100 you added the "money won $" or "$/100" to the hud, which is a decimal wrongly casted into a float. Sorry dude, well this is all corrected now, so you can download the upgrade link and overwrite your previous installation. That's amazing, it's like a needle hidden within thousands of bytes of code: no problem, you find it

You really only tried a badugi game and then BAM, crash? It could almost make me laugh if that stupid cast conversion error wasnt so lame.

Ok now to answer your questions:
"If we are upgrading, should we delete the old db and re-import everything new to be safe?" No! That's the purpose of the upgrade, you install it and it will keep your settings and db. The only thing you'll lose if the hud.xml file.

To select another theme, change the "active" property in the theme main configuration. Hum; this doesn't look really user friendly does it?

Btw you're right about the 3rd line add. I don't know if it's because the preview panel is too small or not, I'll check that. But don't worry, it's not linked with your error.

If you already have Poker Tracker 3 it won't be hard to figure out your settings.

Go to File/Options, then click on the PostgreSQL tab. Try those settings:
Server: 127.0.0.1
Port: 5432
User: postgres
Password: dbpass

Then click on "Test connection". If succesful, click File/Databases. then "Create New". The path will be real the name of the database on the database server, input something like "pokerhandsdb". A db was added to the list, click "Set Active" => you can now import hands.

A lot of people are trying to import hands without having a db, which leads to this disaster

Yup. I used "money won $. I'm going back and change the decimal anyhow to shorten the display to no decimal. I am a "cadaver dog" and find all the dead bodies and dead zones in codes.

Without "help" files, a lot of stuff can be confusing. Just the simple "double click" to add/delete an item from the HUD configuration. Users have to just have a small learning curve. As long as you're around to field questions, it's not a problem.

I can't find a "save" option. When I exit and then open it up and sit at a table, I keep having to rearrange the HUD stats.

How do I save them?

BTW, what is the "test" option under "HUD", right below configure?

Dog, right click on a hud panel: you'll see a menu with all the stats like in the previous version, but there's also a new stuff that appeared: "Hud Panels". Stay over it and you'll see 2 new submenus: "Save Positions" and "Save & Apply Positions".
The first one will save the new positions to the active theme, the 2nd will do the same and will also move all the hud panels of all the tables you opened.

The "test" menu... Hum, you're not supposed to see it
Basically it sends a hand import notification to another program I built that mimics a PokerStars table so I don't have to fire up Stars every time I'm doing tests on the hud. I forgot to hide it before compiling and releasing this version

Dog sees ALL!

I got the hud panels to work and save... no problems

The only problem I seem to have repeatedly, is that the font keeps mysteriously changing back to Arial 7pt. Hell, an eagle couldn't read that small of print. I change it to 9pt and next time I open the program, it's back at 7pt, sometimes it just makes it BOLD to torture me some more. I assume when I make changes in the configure screens and click "ok" that it is supposed to save my changes at that point, right?

Also, having minor color config problems, it decides to show a color I don't have selected depending on the "mood" it is in... haven't figured a pattern there. Oh yeah, the pattern is that all the color problems are on the stat "WTSD"

Otherwise, it's coming along nicely with minor glitches.

I have a suggestion: In the session tab, could you post the newest sessions at the top.

Also, I get a crash every time the hud goes live. I have Live Import + hud on. I also edit'ed my prefered seat. Other than that I upgraded and can't get the hud to work. I am going to reinstall to 8.1 to see if that fixes it.

Thanks for including that upgrade btw. Just wish the HUD worked. I like this program lots.

Generally, the hud is working fine for me. Live update is working. The configure is working except...

The damn font's keep reverting back to the minimum 7pt font. The font itself seems to stay at what I pick, but the size reverts to 7pt every time. I've tried shutting down right after making changes. Not shutting down. I even deleted the 2nd themes for the three games listed and only keeping the one's I made from scratch, or modified. Nothing seems to keep the font from reverting to the minimum. AND, the config screen, first one where it shows the type style and size, shows the correct thing. But once you click on the drop-down arrow, it shows its on 7pt... can't figure this one out.

And would sure like to have the three lines back that was in the previous version. Two lines is too crowded for many stats, especially if "player's name" is one of the choices. It's nearly a line all by itself.

Thanks
ADR
