When you are on the Sessions tab, is there a way to sort by Date? It seems to sort by Stakes first, then date.

Sure you can, click on the column "Start"

(fear my microstakes grinding skills)

I have "Start" as one of my column headers, and it sorts by date for me when I click it. There are even a few sessions that state "2 limits" for the times I've played two different limits during a session.

That explains it. My Sessions tabs dont have a Start date column. "Limit" is my far left column. This is on tabs for all games. It was like this on Beta9, and now 9.5.

Got it. Was not using the "Filter Hands" option to add the column. Thanx

I think you need to add that column, IIRC. Tony made a post about it recently, but I glossed over it as I havent played badugi in quite a while.

after upgrade from b9 to b9.5, all of my hand history in the holdem and triple draws are missing from the PokerHands UI, while I can still see them using pgadmin, any idea?

Hum, the only thing that changed database-wise is that now hand ids are strings instead of numbers (because OnGame ids are like "P4-4545-6546"). Were you able to solve your problem? Can you still connect to your database and browse the players' list?

Yes it definitely will, but you shouldn't wait for it as this is not the priority.

On a side note, I've repaid the .com recently. it made me realize I'm developping this program for more than a year now.

Hey guys,

I'm adding some equity computation, nothing fancy at the moment, just Hold'Em, but I'd like to also add some equity computation to draw games supported by PokerHands.

The problem is: what should I do? My idea is that, for instance in 2-7 Triple Draw you input two hands like A5432 and T8532, choose a rule for each hand (draw to 9 high or lower/stand pat, etc.), and start the whole thing. Do you think that would be good?

You may want to take a look at Rubbishcard's Troutulator. It is all way too far over my head.

Personally, I think there are a ton of these equity calculators. None of them take into consideration, players, position (key), bluffing etc etc. They give you numbers, which is not something to base in game action, IMHO.

When you get a hand that says, "52" vs "48", does that mean you dump the 48? Sometimes, yes, sometimes no. I think you would go to a lot of work.

Well Dog I think those number crunchers for games other than Hold'Em are not very common and could lead to interesting discoveries. This is just a side project I'll add to PokerHands later anyway, I'm developping this at work so it's like pure bonus ;o

this. As far as I know, it's the only simulator of this type, you definitely want to take a look at it before deciding what you do I guess.

I can't get it to work, I previously have postgres installed from PT3 but when I installed it, I got an error saying it couldn't connect to the db.

"Could not connect to PostgreSQL. Please check your database settings from the options form."

I used the default db settings when I installed PT3. I have no clue, any help would be appreciated.

Hello McAvoy,

Did you try to set your connection information in the wizard form and then click on the test connection button? Some users reported that even though their setting was correct, the connectivity test failed and they could still create new database.

This bug was fixed in the next version (coming in like 3/4 hours). So if that's the case, enter your correct settings and go ahead: create a database.

Otherwise, please check your PT3 settings by opening the file C:\Program Files\PokerTracker 3\Data\Config\PokerTracker.cfg

Use the settings from the [Database] section -this is mine for instance:

Default.Postgres.Port=5432
Default.Postgres.User=postgres
Default.Postgres.Password=dbpass

Alright folks, this is the latest update:

PokerHands beta 9.6 (2009-04-13):
Import for Tournament summaries (Stars & FTP)!

This feature was awaited for a while and it's finally available. Now Hold'em SNG grinders can really use PokerHands as a viable alternative to other trackers. For Full Tilt, everything's automatic, but for PokerStars, you have to request your tournament history and then copy/paste the big mail you'll receive in Tools/Import Stars menu.

This new version comes in 2 flavors: full and update from beta 9.5:
Update: http://www.cartridgesoftware.com/fil...b95_to_b96.exe
Full: http://www.cartridgesoftware.com/fil...rhands_b96.exe

Enjoy

a few questions abt the hud, only pertaining to my 2-7 tdl experience.

sm of the stats are shown as percentages, like vpip; ie range 0 to 100 (preferred), but sm stats are shown as probabilities, like fold bb to steal; range 0 to 1, despite the "(%)" in the label. also, the stat is only displayed to 1 significant figure, so a stat of 36% in the tracker report is shown as 0.4 in the hud.

another thing, is it possible to only display stats from the current session for hero? and possibly the option to show stats across all limits for villains?

and lastly, wat files etc do i need to save to backup my hud settings for 2-7 tdl?

thanks

Nope. There are two reasons for that; one is that it's way too much work and the other is that I don't like stud

Oh, thank you for pointing this out. This is definitely a wrong behavior as % stats should always appear as 0-100, not 0-1. While waiting for a fix for this, you can add more digits by changing the format of that stat. Default is "0.0", change it to "0.00".

You can change the hud to only take into account last xxx hands of a player, but it's as close as you'll get to session stats. Showing stats for all limits is not possible atm.

The file you're looking for is hud.xml. If you upgrade from 9.5 to 9.6, your hud.xml won't be overwritten though.

Tony I installed with the first version of beta9. Should I have made a new DB for 9.5 or 9.6 and reimported? Or as long as I am using the update EXE's is everything fine?

Nope, you shouldn't create a new database. Please install the upgrade to beta 9.5 and run it: it'll ask you if you want to upgrade your beta 9 database.
Then you can install the upgrade to beta 9.6. The database schema is the same.

Thank you for updating the title fozzy

I have the same problem after installing PokerHands (9.6). I have not installed PT3, anywhere else I can look up my postgreSQL settings or other solutions?

Did you install PostgreSQL? If not, simply install the PT3 trial with SQL. It does a nice job of installing the database server w/o much hassle.
