Hi TheIrishThug

Thanks for providing what looks to be a very useful tool. I just downloaded placemint to see if it would help me resize my tables whilst multitabling. So far I'm pretty sure I have it set up pretty much right with 6 tables snapping into their positions and sizes (6 slots cloned and layed out). However I'm not sure whether it will work in the way I will be using it day to day.

Generally I open up multiple tables on FTP (more than the 4-6 I play on) and join waiting lists while having them datamine in the background. Once I have done this I will be seated at 4-6 tables and this is when I'd like Placemint to resize the tables I am seated at whilst keeping the other tables that I am on waiting list for datamining whilst minimised. From there I once I am accepted on a new table if it looks better than a current table I'm on I would like to minimise the current table and put this new table into my layout. This is where I get stuck. How do I get any tables that aren't listed in my 6 slots in to replace my now minimised table?

So I guess what I need to find out is how do you switch between say 12 tables with 6 slots enabled in Placemint? if there is a better way to go about what I'm trying to do please let me know

Thanks in advance

Do the tables that you are not on yet have a decent distinguishing feature? That way you might be able to make a queue type setup with some slots for those using Regular Expressions or something.

HighStakes is on the right track. If the title of the window changes based on if you are sitting down, you can make two groups (one for active tables and one for non-active).

The other option is what I do. I have my first 4 slots setup where I'll be keeping my 4 active tables. Then I make another slot until I hit the max number the site allows. So on Full Tilt I have 4 tables on one monitor and 14 tables semi-organized on the second monitor. This way I can minimize them as I want. But if I decide I want to leave an active table and sit at one of the minimized tables, it's just a matter of swapping the slots.

If you have two groups with the same regular expression, there is no way to swap a table between groups. Also, if PlaceMint is already running and there is an open slot in each of these two groups, it's a gamble on which group a new window will join. It depends on where the program is in the loop when the window is found.

so if i want to add firefox to the list of programs i want placemint to handle i can do that?

You are going to have to try again to explain your stack-hotkey scenario. I'm not quite sure what you were trying to say.
thanks for the help thug ill try and be more specific. Take for example a 3 table "stack", when a table pops up in the middle (B) it messes the entire "stack" up. If you could hit a hot key and have it restack (A) then this would be a huge help. click on image to enlarge im a pic noob also

r0eKY,
Sounds like this can be accomplished when I get to active window hotkeys vs mouse position hotkeys. The window in slot 2 activates (B). So you hit the hotkey for slot 1. This would move the active window to slot 1, bringing you into (A).

Unless someone finds some bugs in v0.4.1, active window hotkeys will be the next thing I add. Which, from what I can remember, will bring me to the end of the feature requests and a stable product.

That sounds good if you had a small screen but it could be a useful option. Sometimes you dont get a chance to make a action on the activated table or you dont want to play them so the player leaves before you post blind. The table(slot 2 table B) is now empty and your left with the tables unstacked. A stack order of 2,1,3 (B), causes table 2 to block all other tables under it. If you could hit a hotkey to restack in original order 1,2,3 (A) that would be great. So a stack order of 1,2,3+ with the capability to restack for the times when the order is mixed up is what im requesting i guess.

I have a 4th spot away from the stack for the active table i play on so i drag and drop non active tables into the stack which is 3+ tables deep.

Ok, so it's more about getting the cascade of windows stacked in the right order?

Right now you can work with the tree view in the main window to do something like this. If you right click on the group and select Show, it will iterate over all the windows in that group and activate them (slot 1 - slot n). Right now you might get a couple that don't activate properly, but I just learned that a short pause during the iteration can fix that. I'll consider making hotkeys for these group action when I get started on the next set of feature requests..

It seems to be an issue with how the sourceforge page handles the text file type. I switched the downloads to zip files and they now work fine.

wow, i am having so much trouble with this... hopefully you can help. anyway, i've figured out most of how this thing works, but im still having a ton of trouble doing what I want it to. basically, I want all of my tables cascaded at ALL times, except when I designate a specific table to move over to a specific slot, and then to move back to where it was in the cascade, any help is much appreciated

OK, the way I see this setup being configured is the following:
You make your stack of cascaded slots (making as many as you will have windows for). Then you make another slot (or slots) that will be your "active" slot(s). You can then either use drag & drop or hotkey swapping to move a window you want to use to and out of the "active" slot(s).

When I finish the active window hotkeys, this could be a little easier, but the concept would be the same.

You use the configuration window to position the slots how you like them. Then when you have it set up, you click save and exit back to the main window. Then as windows that match the regular expression for the group appear, they will be placed in the slots.

ok, then i guess im doing it all right... my 1 major issue is that when i assign a slot a certain hotkey, and then save it, when i go to open the program back up, it hasnt been saved... and im clicking save and save as, so i have no idea wtf is wrong... im just gonna give up, but thanks for your help

When you open the program, are the slots being loaded correctly just not the hotkeys?

In the folder you extracted PlaceMint into, open up PlaceMint_settings.config. This file will have a ConfigFileName, that's the name of the configuration file PlaceMint is loading. Open that file and tell me what it says for hotkey in the slot you tried to give a hotkey?

Just spent the last couple of hours playing around with this. Thanks, it's great.

Just one question, is there any reason why PokerOffice and its livetrackers don't get moved? They get recognised in the list of active windows but don't move to the right location and an additional window is listed "Live Tracker Autodetection Mode Setup". When I click show on it, I get an unhandled exception error message. The details box is a bit much for the post but I can cut-and-paste any sections that may help anyone help me.

BTW - I know PO is about as bad is it gets, but I've been using it so long and none of the others have an easy import function. I'll jump ship the day they do, I promise.

I haven't run into any windows that PlaceMint can't move. In the group settings, do you have Move checked? PM me everything from the detail box. With that I should be able patch up the unhanded exception.

I'm also going to have to agree with fozzy, I've used PT2 and HM and I'd classify both of their importing functions as easy.

Thanks TheIrishThug. I'm pretty sure Move was checked (I certainly didn't uncheck it) but I'll PM the details box when I get home tonight.

Re the import function, I'm talking about importing my PO databases, not hands. From what I can tell with HM the process is very tedious and needs to be done in 1000 hand lots and with PT it's just not possible at all. Would love to be corrected on the point though

Make sure you have .NET 2.0 installed on your computer. It can be downloaded from Microsoft's website.

Uploaded a new patch. PlaceMint v0.4.2 that can be downloaded from the project page.

v0.4.2 fixes a couple of smaller bugs that were found over the last week. I also reworked the options window to make things more organized and clear.

More importantly I added the ability to chose between active window and mouse position hotkey swapping.

Thanks. This version is picking up the PokerOffice and Livetracker windows. If you or fozzy ever come up with a patch that will convince me to switch to a more sophisticated tracking program, let me know
