Did you read the How To on the website already? What steps are you having trouble with?

Could someone help with party regex, what happens now is when there is a disconnection, placemint apparently doesn't recognize the tables during that moment. Then, when the connection gets back, the tables get shuffled to new locations which can be confusing during > 10 tabling with some overlapping tables and trying to react quickly because you're trying to find the tables where you were in the middle of a hand.

It does. I tested it with Mansion and Titan but without playing by myself.

I feel like an idiot,

I'd like the most basic setup for stars but I can't seem to get anything to work.

All I want is 2 stacks/slots. The one being my main one where most of my tables are and another where I can take out 1 or more tables that need attention by clicking a hotkey on my keyboard to move it to slot 2 and another hotkey to put it back in the main stack (hotkey could work for active table or table that mouse is over).

I've downloaded Placemintv1 > tools > configure > Named my group and have custom checked > gone to slots and added 2 new slots after clicking show and placed the windows where I wanted them, using ctrl for hotkey on stack 1 and alt for hotkey on stack 2 > save (never put anything in the hotkeys tab under config which is prob part of the problem)

Can anybody help me please? I dont even get a response from the program.

Thanks in advance

You need to download the RegEx list from the website. That will allow you to select something that will select the tables you are looking for. Once you get that, you will see the program move tables into slots.

About your idea for setting up two stacks. PlaceMint isn't going to know that you have made 2 stacks. So you will have to assign a hotkey for each slot in your stack. So it would not be just as easy as hitting Ctrl+R to move the active window to one of the slots on the right stack. Not really complicated, just wanted to make sure you weren't confused about how your "stacks" would work.

very cool program. just wanted to say thanks.

also, i had problems with placemint grabbing random stuff i didn't want it to, then realized "custom" was autochecked when i created a group. unchecking that might make avoid that problem for new users.

I'm considering trying this out. allsnap doesn't work on Vista 64 (on any non64programs, at least). Could anyone tell me if this will do what I want?

I want to be able to set a location to always keep my web browser when this is running. I want to set a location for the Stars lobby and the FTP lobby. I do not want my tables to be controlled by PlaceMint, I will use Stars Planner for that. I would also like Notepad and Calculator and maybe a couple other things to have a certain location on the screen. Is this possible w/ PlaceMint? Is it possible for the locations to overlap?

Ty.

Placemint stopped working for my Stars tournament tables with today's Pokerstars software update and I'm not sure why. Anyone else having that problem?

I have uploaded a new version of PlaceMint (v1.1) and an updated PokerStars regex. Go to the program website to download.

Fix: New groups do not have empty custom regex.
Fix: Blank regex's are ignored.
New: Ability to send F5 to cause window redraws. This option was added to replicate what Stars Planner does to redraw tables. This option as is applied to all windows associated with a window group, so do not use this option unless you know how a window will respond. For example, Notepad will insert a time-stamp if it receives a F5 keystroke. For anyone that hasn't done so, you will need to add a line to your Stars User.ini file in the [Options] section in order for this to work.
Quote:
f5redrawtable=1
The change I found in the PokerStars tournament names was that some were using "Stakes" instead of "Blinds". Please try the new regex and let me know that if anything else is being missed.

Hi love the software it really helps me play lots of tables on full tilt. Thanks very much!

My setup works great with it but I have a suggestion that could make it even better.

Request: Could you implement a hotkey to pause and reload placemint. I would use this to reset the position of the tables to the topmost slots in the slot list.

Explanation: At the moment I cascade my tables and use placemint hotkeys to take out a table when I am faced with a difficult decision.
The problem is I can't put it back into the cascade and leave the 'tough decision screen space blank - for hand histories, google etc.'
The options currently are to swap it with another table - but then the tough decision area on my screen is always filled with a table.
Or use the ripple feature but then my 'tough decision spot' is still always filled with a table.
A hotkey to put all the tables back in the positions where they load up would fix this (and hopefully wouldn't be too hard to implement).

Another possible solution: Perhaps another solution to my problem would be to have a tick box on each slot that includes or excludes the slot from the ripple effect feature.
Then I could have my main cascade ripple but then have my 'tough decision' slots after the main cascade in the slot list.
I could then press a hotkey to send a table to the tough decision spot, and then when I'm done I could use another hotkey to send that table to a blank slot at the bottom of the cascade.

Written a lot sorry - again love the software hopefully something I've said will be useful

a nonymous,
Try picking another mirror, I can download both files successfully.

Srdfsh,
Let me look into seeing how I could make that work.

I've installed.

This will be realllly useful.

I am kind of lost when setting it up though. I read through the Documentation / 4 links on the Documentation page. I set up a Window Group called Firefox. I set up a slot and got it to where I want Firefox to stay on the screen. I have no idea what to do next. Reading the thread now but if anyone has any info, I'd appreciate it.

Sounds like you have almost everything you need. The one last thing is the regular expression used to match the window title. For firefox you can simply type in " - Mozilla Firefox" and that will work (no quotes). For poker tables, you will need more complicated expressions, but a handful of them have already been made and can be downloaded from the website. Check off the expression you want associated with your window group and then save the layout. You should then see your firefox window move into position.

Have you tried this......

F7::
WinGetActiveTitle, Title1
WinMove, %Title1%,,160,525
return

that simple code in ahk will allow you to move any window to a selected spot. simply change the "F7" to the desired key and the X and Y cordinates to meet your desires (I'm using 160 and 525 in example above)

I have 5 of these F7 thru F11, so I can play stacked tables on my main monitor with 3 extra slots to pull tables out too, plus a fith that moves the table/window to my other monitor

Not sure how to figure out the X and Y numbers, I just did tyrial and error till I got mine where I wanted.

Anyone know of a way to get it to put Stars sit&go lobbies in one location and ignore Stars tables? They both start w/ "Tournament "

This is my first time attempting a regex variable (?), but this seems to work...

Code:
^Tournament\s[0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9][0-9]\sLobby$
PlaceMint: Window Positioning Tool Quote
01-13-2009 , 04:33 PM
\d == [0-9]
* == 0 or more
+ == 1 or more
{n} == exactly n
{m,n} == between m and n (you can also leave out the m or n to mean up to n or m or more, respectively)

Copy, thanks thug. So, assuming the tourneys all use 9 digits, I get...

Code:
^Tournament\s\d{9}\sLobby$
Seems to work perfectly for me.
