ValueCheck is a StopLoss tool which will work with HoldemManager and PokerTracker 3 databases.

It can be downloaded from http://home.haugnett.no/minusev/ValueCheck.zip (unzip and run setup.exe to install).

Set the targets you want and check the 'Enable' box for those you want to check against. You can also set how often you want the program to check and whether you want to be notified just once when a target is reached or repeatedly.

Before you start, make sure you set up the configuration with your database details and sn in the 'Configuration' tab:

Select Holdem Manager or PokerTracker 3 depending on which program you are using.
The Database Configuration is set to the default values for a HoldemManager or PokerTracker 3 installation depending on which is selected, so if you have other settings here, update them and click the 'Save' button.
Click the 'Change Player' button to select your screen name:

Just start typing, and matching names from your selected database will show up.
*Note: While aliases will show up, these will not work in the program, so please choose a site name
Select your sn and click 'Select Player' to choose it.

Clicking the 'Change alert sounds' will let you configure the sound options for the alerts:

Only .wav-files can be used - also, the program can be a little picky about which .wav files it accepts, so make sure you "Test sound" after selecting it to make sure it will play. (You will still be notified if you choose an invalid .wav, but with a popup instead of a sound.)

With all that out of the way, you can now finally start checking by returning to the main screen and clicking 'Start Check' at the bottom. This will bring up the Session Results window:

This will show the current result for the values you are checking against.

If you prefer to not have the Session window show, you can check the 'Hide Session window' on the main page before clicking 'Start Check':

If this option is selected, a 'Stop Check' button will be available in the main window instead of in the 'Session window' screen.

A 'session' is not linked to your HM/PT3 session, but goes from when the 'Start Check' is clicked until it is stopped. Stopping and starting will therefore start the check again back at 0.

The program is also quite flexible when it comes to changing values, so these can be changed mid-session in the main window and will then use the new values. So if, for example, you decide you want to play a shorter/longer session, you can change the number of hands/minutes mid session.

I'll def try it out for you.

Anyway you could make it so you don't see your session results on the tab once you run it, but it will notify you if you hit your goals?

I'm trying to completely stop looking at my bankroll and session results, but need a program like this for a stop loss so it kinda defeats the purpose if I see the results in that tab.

Thanks man.

BTW the default IP for HEM databases is shown as 127.0.01 and should be 127.0.0.01 at least in my case.

And a popup/sound thats customizable is def something you should shoot for in the future once you get the groundwork done.

Yes, there'll be an option for not showing that window. For now you can minimize it so you won't have to see the numbers and still get the notification (though that will still leave the main window hanging there).

Yep, thanks - looks like I missed a . there. (Not sure how, but it worked fine like that when I tried it on my machine though.)

Yea, I'll add a better default sound and also make it possible to specify your own sounds for each of the targets.

Thanks for trying it out and for the comments

I'll post here if I have any more comments or questions as I test it out.

software works well for me. Agree with hiding the session results. What about a hand count option too?

Sounds good, thanks

There will be a hand count option in the next version. Other planned additions for the next version is:

- New targets:
* Time played
* Hands played
* $/bb down from session high point

- Possibility to change the warning sound for each target
- Option to not show the session window
- Option to have the warning go off just once instead of repeatedly

Also hoping to add an installer and get a better hosting solution for the file.

since you are tracking hands played can you have this displayed in the taskbar(where we see system time) this way its easier to stay focused on reaching a set no of hands.

a even better option is to let the user decide what he wants to see there. someone might want to see profit or trailing profit

I believe the only way to show anything in the taskbar is in the box that pops up when you hover over the program icon.

Info can be added there, but I'm not sure this will be better/different from the current session window that shows the numbers that are being tracked?

Not the greatest of timing obviously, but for those who still can play, the new version is now ready.

I have pm'ed a mod to have the OP updated with a new description and link, but until then, it can be downloaded here: http://home.haugnett.no/minusev/ValueCheck.zip (unzip and click setup.exe to install).

By the way, even if you don't want it as a default, I'd recommend keeping the 'session window' open for the first couple of sessions to make sure the numbers update and alerts trigger as expected.

While it's all seemed to work fine during my testing, it's not been extensively tested and only tested in a limited selection of games.

Also, I haven't yet had a chance to test how it works if you play on tables with other currencies than USD, so there may be issues with the 'dollar goals' there as I'm not sure how HM handles these and where/if the conversion takes place.

Very nice update thank you sir. The "lost more than $" and "won more than $" enable checkboxes are reversed for me ie. lost checkbox enables won and vice versa, otherwise it's mint yo

Not currently, but I have been thinking about adding PT3 support for it - since HM and PT3 both use postgresql it should only require a bit of poking about in the PT3 database to see where the values are stored and map to those instead.

The main problem is that I don't have PT3 and while I can use the trial-period to get it up and running initially, I won't have PT3 to check against for any future updates. OTOH, I just need the database and that will remain, so unless they make any changes to the database structure, I probably won't need PT3 itself to work for any updates.

I'll have a look and see.
