Benefits for the User and Philosophy of the Software

While the software should specifically help with answering the question "What's my Line?", overall I want to focus on helping Omaha players earn more money.

So for the long term I want to take the software in a direction where it helps you
(I) improve your game,
(II) save time

and in general it should
(III) make complicated EV-analyses easy and accessible even if you are not into math.

Even though this philosophy may sound relatively obvious I explicitly wanted to lay it out, since a lot could be implemented, which is technically interesting but contributes little to these goals.

How do these points translate into you making more money?
(I) higher win rate
(II) reduced opportunity cost for theory work
(III) is meant to enable people to learn about the EV of their strategies where they wouldn't run EV calculations without it. (so it comes back to (I) )

In case you have a feature request that fits into this general philosophy, please let me know.

Technical Features

The main technical goal of "What's my Line?" is to provide the means to calculate the expected value of complete strategies, which would be way too complicated and impractical to do without it. This is realized by decision trees representing player actions.
So basically you can enter gametype, stacks, ranges and player actions and it'll calculate the EV for you. (For scenarios based upon hands you have played you can simply read the hand history into a decision tree without the need to enter everything yourself.)
  • Some things actually work
  • Supports Omaha Hi and O8
  • No Limit, Pot Limit, Fixed Limit betting limits are implemented
  • Platform independent - should work on any operating system and no installation necessary (Yay, it's a webapp!)
  • Can read Pokerstars hand histories into a decision tree. The tree will actually be one simple line since a hand history is one single historic "recording" where villain didn't raise 70% but either 100% or 0%, but you can "treeify" it to your liking and easily change it to 70% and add a fold action for villain for instance.

Getting Started

Private Beta and Registration

At first the beta will be limited to 10 people, additional spots will be available depending on server load.

Due to the private beta stage I need to unlock your account after you registered it, so if you want to get a spot, register an account and pm me the email address you used for registration.

(If after logging in the login screen is displayed again, it means that your account is still locked.)

If you just want to be informed when the program is more public or more mature you can pm me, post in the thread or write an email to support. (Please don't be shy about contacting me )

Pricing

For the private beta "What's my Line?" will be completely free. After that the current plan is to have a subscription based model with the focus on mid to high stakes players.

If you are one of those nefarious nosebleeders and want the software all for yourself please contact me...

Feedback

Please don't be shy about feedback I'll appreciate it.

  • as part of this an analysis is no longer opened by its fixed alphanumeric ID but by its title
  • complete Analyses can now be deleted (File -> Delete Stored Analysis...)
