So are there errors in this program? I would love to use this. I think a great option would be, For the new file that is creating after merging two files, to use the player Color simply from the note file that has more notes. Seems simple enough I think. Currently, you have to chose which file to use. As if you actually know on a player bases that all your notes are more detailed on one file then the other. I think, if for each individual player note merged, it should take the color of the notes that has more notes input. Ex. instead of always taking the color of file 1 or file 2. If Player Average Joe, in the first file only has one line of notes and is labeled "green" or "8", and in the second file Player Average Joe has 5 lines of notes and is labeled "orange" or "4" . Obviously I would want Average Joe to be labeled "Orange" or "4" in the newly merged file. Great job though, keep us updated.

Is this still the best option for merging notes from laptop to PC?

I just downloaded and tested this tool (v0.2) and it seems to work fine - although I've yet to see the results in FTP the XML seems OK.

Not sure if the original author is still involved with this though?

I'm a stickler for automating things, and I'd like to add command-line support so I can just FTPNotes.Exe c:\FileA.xml c:\FileB.xml C:\FileOutput.xml
to automatically merge files without the GUI (which is very simple I know!)

but I only really want to bother with the effort if the original author would be happy to re-release the update, as I don't like code branching

I could also make it so the XML is better laid out within the file as a few people have mentioned that, and I prefer it too (especially if I want to eyeball the merge worked correctly! )

I say just go ahead and do it, its free software. If the owner comes in and objects you can unpublish your work. But I doubt he will as he willingly posted it for anybody to use. And he has been MIA for over two years. He also willingly posted and acknowledged posting the source code on the website of the link in which anybody can use to improve the program.

I am not really missing, but not maintaining it, since I do not have any personal use for it anymore (play always on the same laptop).
