Hello there!

I'm an iOS developer and I've recently launched a cool free hand history keyboard for iOS. The goal is to help you guys writing your hand histories in any app on iOS. It could be Mail, Facebook or whatever you want!

You can download it here:
https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/poke...d/id1275497900

I'll be happy to collect all feedback you have to improve the keyboard!

GL at the tables!

Hello there,

we're collecting some feedback about the keyboard.
If you're using the keyboard, can you share your experience with it?

Thanks a lot!

Hey pike,

I really appreciate the interest in our keyboard!
The good news is that we've opened the doors of Android programming with Poker Analytics on Android.
Our current plan is to complete the Poker Analytics features list as the app is currently lighter than the iOS version. We should start the bundled hand history recorder in a few weeks, and we intend to merge everything we learned in this future amazing recorder! I hope you'll try it!

TL;DR: This keyboard app's privacy policy page has been deleted, which opens up the possibility of them gathering any sensitive data you type on your device with any keyboard, as well as location data, photos, and other personal data.

Not trying to imply anything is being done inappropriately here, but it seems important to mention that it is possible given what's stated by Apple below. When clicking on the privacy policy for this keyboard app from the app store, it goes to a deleted google doc page. This is a little troubling given these excerpts from Apple in Third Party Keyboards under Settings:
Quote:
These keyboards can access all of the data you type, including bank account and credit card numbers, street addresses, as well as other personal and sensitive information. These keyboards may also access nearby text or data, which is useful for improving autocorrect functionality.
Note that the above says it has access to all data that you type, not just the data typed using this keyboard. It can even gather nearby data.

And the following excerpt is concerning since I didn't see a way to enable less than full access. All I can tell is the keyboard is enabled, so I assume it has full access.
Quote:
If you enable Full Access, developers are permitted to access, collect and transmit the data you type. In addition, if the third party application containing the keyboard has you permission to access location, photos, or other personal data, the keyboard can also collect and transmit that information to the keyboard developer's servers. If you disable Full Access for a third party keyboard, and then re-enable it, the keyboard's developer may be able to access, collect and transmit what was typed while the network access was disabled.
And note that it said it may be able to access data that was typed even when it was disabled, which lends further credence to the idea that it can access what is typed even with the standard keyboard.

And since there is no privacy policy available, it's not really possible to follow this:
Quote:
If you use a third party keyboard, you are subject to the keyboard developer's terms, privacy policy and practices. You should review the terms, privacy policies and practices of such keyboard apps and services to understand how they use your data and other information prior to use.
I understand that this is a free keyboard that may be considered in beta development, but that doesn't lessen the need to know what data is being gathered, if any.

Hey Eponymous,

thanks for the heads-up.
Let me tell you this:
1/ Any people with bad intentions can write fake privacy policies. Frankly if I wanted to gather data I wouldn't take down the privacy page of my app this would be a stupid move haha.

1a/ iOS asks you for permissions when it wants to access sensible stuff.

2/ Honestly I'm have no idea about what happened. What I can tell you is that we're a two persons company, and checking if the link of the privacy policy of my free app works is not really of my daily routine. I'll check that out.

3/ What I can tell you about the the keyboard is that it's totally offline, and I'd hate gathering your data and sell it, I'd rather stop doing business than do that kind of crap.

Thanks for the reply, frouge. That sounds reasonable. It just is kind of a red flag when the file isn't there and then Apple shows all these warnings when you go to install the keyboard.

I realize that space is at a premium, so this may not be worth it to most, but I'll mention it. Exact suits aren't important for a lot of hands, and all you want to record is whether your hand was suited or offsuit. So having an "s" and an "o" would be useful. Also perhaps an "r" for rainbow flops.

It would be easier to type.
Quote:
Raised AKo preflop...Flop Q72r
than:

Raised AK preflop...Flop Q72
I suppose any hole cards without suits noted could be considered offsuit, and any flop without suits noted could be considered rainbow, so maybe just an "s" would be useful. If not, can use the "x" to make AKx mean AKs, I suppose.

Hey,
thanks a lot for the additional feedback. It's indeed a good way to type hands quicker, I'll keep that in mind for future releases.
