This is Linux, right? and by executable, they have the executable bit set so they show up as executeable in nautilus, or whatever file manager? I don't think that hurts anything, but you can make then not executable with something like:
chmod -x *.txt

ok

I just copy and pasted the example hud config file and fpdb is working for me now.

the hud window is now black - did the previous version use to be transparent white or was it simply white?

Not sure which version I liked better, white or black, any way for me to change it back to white? Maybe i think white was better.

I think i did see the mucked cards work once have to test it out more now. Oh, and I didn't get ghost huds all over my screen when I exited.

I've noticed this because I use stacked tables (under Linux). Similarly, whenever there is a showdown the hole- and board-cards always appear, even if the table currently visible is a different table.
I have been playing around with the focus stealing without very much success. There is a setting in xfce that causes it to automatically focus new windows. This is in Settings Manager/Window Manager->Focus tab. That might help some.

I have a last resort idea to fix the focus stealing if I can't get around it some other way. In the next week or two I am going to do some cleaning up and refactoring of the code that displays the stat windows and mucked card windows. If focus stealing is still a problem after that, I will try my last resort fix.

Secondly, when I tried to play with 12 tables the HUD crashed. I re-started it and it crashed again. Then I switched off the mucked cards and it worked properly. There was nothing untoward in the log files. I wouldn't give this problem too high a priority as yet, since it is not really very useful to have a mucked-cards display when playing on so many tables.
When the stat windows and mucked cards windows are both going that is 22 gtk.windows/per poker table = 264 when 12 tabling. That seems like a lot of open windows. I'll do some more research on this and see if I can duplicate the problem. Can you tell me more about the crash? Does HUD_main.py crash and fpdb.py keep running and importing hands? X keeps running? etc?
Quote:
A final comment: Regarding the appearance of the cards, because the corners are slightly curved, strange white pixels appear there, i.e. at the very corners where the background is probably supposed to show through (but doesn't). This is not a problem as such; but if you can't make the background show through, it would look better if the cards were rectangular.
This is an alpha channel problem and I have not messed with it yet--it is on my things to do list.

The colors and opacity of the stat windows are set in the site element.

Code:
        <site HH_path="~/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/Full Tilt Poker/HandHistory/YOUR NAME/"
              bgcolor="#000000"
              decoder="fulltilt_decode_table"
              fgcolor="#FFFFFF"
              font="Sans"
              font_size="8"
              hudopacity="1.0"
              screen_name="YOUR SCREEN NAME"
              site_name="Full Tilt Poker"
              table_finder="FullTilt">
            <layout fav_seat="4" he...
The colors are fgcolor and bgcolor. The colors are in hex rgb. #FFFFFF = white, #000000 = black, #FF0000 = red, etc. The opactity of the hud is hudopacity. You can also change the font and font size.

trying out the new software.

freezes like crazy for me. I think without mucked cards it would work fine. How do I disable mucked cards?

I think a hand replayer would be awesome and much more effectve. Impossible to review all hands with mucked card display as I play 4+ tables. It tilts when you miss the hand on mucked cards due to time/other table etc.

I just want to be able to review all of the big hands. Tilts when mucked cards is showing that I open folded 3 9 o.

To disable mucked cards display, remove the aux element in the game you are playing.
Code:
        <game aux="mucked, Hello_menu" cols="3" db="fpdb" game_name="holdem" rows="2">
            <stat click="tog_decorate" col="0" popup="default" row="0" stat_name="vpip" tip="tip1"> </stat>
            <stat click="tog_decorate" col="1" popup="default" row="0" stat_name="pfr" tip="tip1"> </stat>
            <stat click="tog_decorate" col="2" popup="default" row="0" stat_name="ffreq_1" tip="tip1"> </stat>
            <stat click="tog_decorate" col="0" popup="default" row="1" stat_name="n" tip="tip1"> </stat>
            <stat click="tog_decorate" col="1" popup="default" row="1" stat_name="wtsd" tip="tip1"> </stat>
            <stat click="tog_decorate" col="2" popup="default" row="1" stat_name="wmsd" tip="tip1"> </stat>
</game>
Can you give me more details on the freezing? Is there anything in your HUD-error.txt file?

A reviewer is getting to be #1 on my list of things I want to work on. I want to get the HUD solid and pretty feature complete (incl a setup gui) before I start on something new.

in hud-error.txt just stuff about fav seat and actual seat. nothing I could really notice.

As far as the freezing, the hud will start to loop, but stop and there will be like stringy boxes of huds and it will totally freeze the poker client. Also maybe freezes like if it is trying to show mucked cards and I go to click check or whatever at the same time it might freeze.

Not sure if other people get these problems.

The 1045 error you mentioned before is usually an incorrect username or password.

If you have mysql installed on the same machine that you are trying to use fpdb on, then you don't have to open port 3306.

Are you sure mysql is running? To find out you do something like this in windows: right click on "my computer", select manage, click on services, scroll to mysql. (I'm not using windows, so that was from memory.)

yes it is in services and says is started. Is there specific password that you have to use? I have tried installing and uninstalling the db downloads and the mysql. All things off computer then
1. I downloaded mysql opened to run it get to screen to put root pw put in generic pass words i made up. Then get to next screen "processing configuration" checks off first three steps then get to the "Apply security settings" then the error code shows up saying make sure port is open. Is there anything else in vista that may be blocking something?

yippee I got it to load finally. I left passwords blank and it worked. I found to do that on the mysql forums site.
Now need to find out what roadblock I will hit next, as I have no idea what to do next.

First of all I want to thank everybody involved on this, and since I'm running Ubuntu this project instantly caught my attention.

So yesterday I managed to get it running and today I tried it out but got an error while auto-importing (and didn't got to see the HUD at all), Pokerstar is running via Wine and I'm using Postgres as DB.

This is the error, hands are from a $3 Sit and Go:

....DEBUG: import_fpdb_file: failed on self.lines[0]: '/home/abelardo/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/PokerStars/HandHistory/Abelardo/HH20090410 T154908176 No Limit Hold'em $3 + $0.40.txt' 'PokerStars' '[]' '7905'

And it goes on... how do I fix this?? Thanks!

I think I have every thing downloaded. How do you get to the point of importing, where is the icon to open the program? Totally lost have spent two days trying to figure this out. Is there a step by step guide for copletely lost people. Starting from step 1 to ? In plain english for people that have never edited programs etc. I would be glad to help with such a guide if I could ever get this going. I know this is for free so what can I expect but would be nice to have guide. Maybe someone could do video of setting up all the necessary downloads and modifications needed to get the program to work> Help please

I think that 0.11 has a bug that is not allowing import of tournaments. I have pushed a fix to my git repo that has fixed it for me. This wiki page tells how to install with git. That will just take a couple of minutes--if your config file is OK, you won't need to change it. Using git is much easier in the long run than using the releases.

I suspect a permissions problem here. What that output is showing is that you are reading [] (0) lines from filename, starting from character 7905, then 9826, then 11422.

In another terminal can you run:
wc -c '/home/abelardo/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/PokerStars/HandHistory/Abelardo/HH20090410 T154908176 No Limit Hold'em $3 + $0.40.txt'
Each time the message comes up on screen.

What I expect to see is a number higher than the lone that was just printed. If thats the case, fpdb isn't able to read the file contents for some reason.

I did that I do not have "fpdb.py" icon in the folder there is list of 73 items or folders like the names of poker sites, hud , lots of fpdb stuff but not the fpdb.py am I looking in right area?

In the fpdb error log it shows this error if that helps?

I hadn't thought of this. Perhaps the problem was due to Xfce all along. I've switched this off now, and I have my fingers crossed....

Exactly as you've said: HUD_main.py crashes; fpdb.py keeps running. X keeps running without missing a beat. I don't think it is just the number of open windows, since I have occasionally used the HUD (successfully) with 24 tables, which would have nearly as many, I think (~ 240 windows).

I'll report further on this problem. I tend to send the text output straight to /dev/null; I'll stop doing this the next time I try it.

B.T.W. good luck with the refactoring, and thanks for all your work!

Thanks sorrow and Eratosthenes, I haven't tried exactly this but will do sometime later (need to play another SnG).

For now, I tried running the command you gave me got me this:
79284 ./.wine/drive_c/Program Files/PokerStars/HandHistory/Abelardo/HH20090410 T154908176 No Limit Hold'em $3 + $0.40.txt

I have the logs from the previous run and found this interesting (last entry):
..DEBUG: import_fpdb_file: failed on self.lines[0]: '/home/abelardo/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/PokerStars/HandHistory/Abelardo/HH20090410 T154908176 No Limit Hold'em $3 + $0.40.txt' 'PokerStars' '[]' '79284'

So looks like it is detecting correctly the size?

I tried something else, importing the HH using the Bulk import (previously I recreated the tables just to be sure), I got this from the terminal window:

Looking at the database, nothing got written. The tournament was specifically a 10 seat $3.40 turbo SnG. Not many SnG's in pokerstars are 10 seats, maybe fpdb is expecting 9 players instead of 10? Maybe I should send you guys the hand history itself? Thanks again!

deleted all that--I just read your post correctly.

OK--I've PMed you my email address, please send the HH and, if you don't mind, your HUD_config.xml file. You can delete the database part of your config file if you want--it has db passwords in it.

A quick success report. This is Vector Linux 6.0 on a bog-standard laptop (dual-core not super fast, 1G mem, etc). VL a is Slackware variant - see prev post or the VL site for gory details.

Spent a little time today resolving the problems I had previously & now seem to have everything running ok. Gslapt (vector/slackware's gui package installer) didn't seem to have put matplotlib in an appropriate place so I had to do this by hand. So graphing works fine. I don't have the problem I have under XP with the previous graph not being erased when I request a new one. On one hand that's good, but otoh frustrating as I still can't see why XP doesn't like the GuiGraph.. code.

The problem I had with HUD not autoimporting was equally trivial.
So everything seems rosy.

next stop - trying to figure out if focus is being stolen or not & can I cause crashes with multitabling

kudos to the devs again.
