So got the bulk importer working now, buttttt now Auto Import isn't reading the hands at all. Bulk importer still imports the hand, but auto importer just continues to say:

Checked the HUD-Log file and found this:

Has there been any success with BetOnline and the hud?

It is detecting the file has been updated, but never matching a new hand.

Can you see the file growing in size?

If stop then immediately start the hud, does the hud pop up and update?

I had success with it on a previous version. Phil gave me version 0.41.0-rc5 because of importing issues. The hud now does not work at all cause the auto importer is not reading the file/hands properly. I tried restarting hud multiple times. And yes the hands are being put in the history correctly just not imported.

Betonline hand histories are fairly awful, it seems. Looks like you have a pathological one which is confusing FPDB's parser. I'll go through the ones you sent me in a minute and see if anything shakes out. If you want to send me that might prove useful too.

Looks like everything works fine at my end. Does the main HUD window appear? Do table names appear in it?

Not with new version. It tries to read some files but then hangs up like the previous version did with bulk import. Once it freezes on a file (or can't read), HuD never pops up.

Ok so tried auto-import yet again...and this time it amazingly worked. Not really sure how. I didn't even change any thing. Not sure if it will work again, but will try to see what it does tomorrow.

When the HUD finally did begin to work it got stuck behind the table(s). So I guess it worked, cause it was auto-importing hands, I saw that much. But at the same time I couldn't see the hud cause it was stuck behind the table(s).

How frustrating. The HUD-behind-tables thing has been a problem for a couple of people, but there are lots of people who don't have the issue. I've seen it once or twice while testing but was not able to make it happen reliably to track down the cause. If you can set HUD_main.exe to run as administrator that might do something? I don't really know windows stuff.

You could also try going back to 0.40.5 to see if that works with your new config file.

Alright, tried your suggestion about switching to 0.40.5 and it seemed ok. I fired up two tables just to see if it worked, only played like 15 hands or so but the hud worked, it auto imported correctly and even bulk imported everything without the freeze.

SO...in the end I'm hoping this is the fix for now lol. Once I do another session tomorrow I'll post and let ya know what happened.

OK, I'm glad you got something that seems to work for you. If you have the patience for it, I'd love some help trying to figure out this behind-tables HUD thing. I understand if you can't be bothered though - and it's one of those things that will probably be a real PITA to figure out.

Thats historically been one of the solutions to the hiding hud problem.

Can I use a command line option to start fpdb doing only and immediately Bulk Import from standard hand histories directory?
It could be useful to perform a routine batch import of hands in a second (redundant) DB server...

I'm using fpdb 0.41.0rc6 (rc5 fixed) on Windows 8.0 and MySql.

I don't think there's a command line option for this with the binary executable.

Have been looking for a hud on PKR for ages, FPDB seems awesome.

I just can't get the PKR handhistories imported.

I ran install_fpdb and set the import folder under site settings
Restarted
Tried bulk, it loaded for a while but did not import any hands
Reboot my pc
ran install_fpdb again and started autimport and hud, this is the message:

it's not recognizing anything.
What should I do?

I haven't merged in his 0.41 updates into https://github.com/ChazDazzle/fpdb-chaz yet, but my chazdazzle branch is the one you should be looking at for parser/db/sql updates

So I tried putting HuD_main.exe to run as admin, but now it throws this back at me on version 0.41.0-rc5:

Ah, you probably have to run fpdb.exe as admin too.

ok so far on my test table it seems to be working.

That's encouraging. If you turn it off and go back to non-admin does it go bad again? Or did we just get lucky this time?

Not lucky, restarted everything and turned off admin mode. It's still reading the hhands, hud pops up but gets stuck behind table still. So looks like Admin Mode was what did it.
