sorry for double posting.

Stat fold_f doesn't work (always NA, 0/0) - didn't work also in rc1

When you change table on a MTT the HUD disappear and you have to stop auto-import and start it again.

the Hud doesn't follow the window anymore, a step back from rc1.
I disabled this because it was causing instability for some linux users. I am trying to get it back in this week (meaning fix the problem and get it back in ).

A new HUD should reappear after the first hand is finished (the first hand that you get cards, that is) on the new table. I've tested this on Stars and FTP. If not, there is a problem.

I can't comment on the fold_f stat, some work is going on in that area.

I'm assuming that refers to gimick's recent work, which isn't in rc2 (nor in my tree yet). Any chance you could send us an example hand that should show fold_f for a player but doesnt?

Hello everyone,
The new release candidate 0.21-rc2 is now available for download as source or as packages/installers for Debian, Gentoo, Ubuntu and Windows.
This version brings many improvements and bugfixes, updating is recommended for users of snapshots and rc1. If you're using a stable version like 0.20 or 0.20.1 please consider trying this version and report any bugs, and in particular regressions, so we can fix them. This might be the last RC before the next stable.

So... what is FPDB?
===================
FPDB (Free Poker Database) is a free/open source suite of steadily growing tools to track and analyse your online poker game. FPDB is able to import the hand histories that poker sites write to your computer, store additional data from each hand in a database for use in later analysis.

FPDB is ambitious, intending to support all games. Currently we support flop based games (Hold’em, Omaha, Omaha Hi/Lo), stud games (7 Card Stud, 7 Card Stud Hi/Lo, and Razz) and draw games (Triple Draw Lowball, 5 Card Draw) on several poker sites.

FPDB provides a Heads Up Display (HUD), Profit Grapher and Stats viewers with a list of features that is growing.

What's changed
==============
Approx. 200 changesets (excl. merges) have gone in since 0.21-rc1. Some of the improvements are:
* Various changes to the HUD to make it more reliable, especially in tournaments
* Initial preview of PokerEval/Stove - this is just a preview, it is not meant for productive use yet
* HUD now works on Mac OSX (note that it's not as "smooth" as on Linux&Windows)
* Improved handling of timezones
* Tournament support for Winamax
* Initial support for Party.FR
* Groundwork for much better session support (not user-visible yet)
* Some improvements to error handling
* Some new command line parameters
* Support for EUR games on some sites that didn't have it before
* Various other small things and under-the-hood work

Where to get it
===============
Please note that you will have to either recreate your database or use a new one if you're updating from 0.21-rc1 or older. Config files from 0.20 and later should work. Please report if you have problems with config files from that version or later.
You can find checksums (MD5 and SHA512) in the download folder.

Please also see the "Bug reports" section below to enable us to help you.
These are listed in order of usefulness - the 2+2 thread in particular is rather chaotic so if we miss your post feel free to bring it up again
1) Chat/IRC
One of the developers is usually around, but it is IRC. Dont get discouraged because we didn't answer within 10 minutes, once we do you've probably got our full attention.
This link takes you to a website where you can talk to us directly, alternatively use an IRC client to connect to #fpdb on freenode: http://webchat.freenode.net/?channels=fpdb

3) The monster 2+2 forum thread (registration reqd).
http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/16...2009-a-273001/ Please dont let the size of the thread phase you. It is monitored and sends email notifications to the developers. (Note: If you play poker and don't frequent the 2+2 forums, you may want to become better acquainted. Its a bit daunting at first, but well worth the effort)

Bug reports
===========
When you do report issues, please help us help you. We usually need at least the following information:
- Operating system and version (e.g. Ubuntu 10.10 or Windows XP)
- Database type (MySQL, SQLite, PostgreSQL)
- Install method (exe, tarball, deb, git, ebuild)
- Fpdb version
- Site name and gametype (e.g. Razz SnG)
You can find many of these details for easy copy&paste in the Help menu under About.

Known Bugs
==========
Windows 7 file names for EUR Stars hand histories crashes fpdb.
HUD:
* Position of HUD overlay based on favourite position is off after you get moved in a tournament.
* No HUD support for mixed games.
* HUD doesn't handle tournament table changes well. Work around by closing the HUD for that table and letting it regenerate.
* To close down the HUD, always use the "stop autoimport" button from the main FPDB application. Closing the "HUD main window" directly may cause temporary loss of control of other applications (including the poker client). Control is normally returned at the next hud update cycle or if FPDB is stopped.
* Windows 7 and Windows Vista require that fpdb.pyw be 'Run as Admin' - the HUD will not run using the run_fpdb.bat startup script.

Improved handling of timezones
Could whoever handled this part define what "improved handling" means. Also, my current 20.906 version is running great. (except for the timezone issues). I'd rather not mess and move up to the latest version. Can whoever fixed the time issue point me to the file/location where the changes were made. I'd like to know/see if that change can just be made to my current version or not.

Thx

Instead of going into the source, here is what i'd suggest --
  1. Find where you have your config file and save it in another folder, somewhere you can access later.
  2. Delete your old config file from the ./fpdb path
  3. Download the new .exe for rc2 and double click it to install.
  4. Run fpdb v0.21_rc2 and it will create a new config file in the same location as your old one (You'll get a bunch of pop ups relating to the sites and their hh folders on your computer, you'll have to edit that later)
  5. Now close fpdb, find the new config file you just created, open it, and change the database name from the default fpdb.db3 to something like fpdb_rc2.db3 (code below). This will point your new installation to a new database while maintaining your old one (which is still referenced in your old config that you've saved somewhere)
    Code:
    <database db_ip="localhost" db_server="sqlite" db_name="fpdb_rc2.db3" db_user="fpdb" db_pass="fpdb"/>
  6. Run fpdb v0.21_rc2 again and go into 'Database' > 'Maintain Databases' and make sure its pointing to the new one
  7. Now go to 'Database' > and click 'Create or Recreate Tables'. You should be read to import your hands.
  8. When you want to go back to your old database, back up your new config file somewhere, delete it from the ./fpdb path and copy in your old one. This will allow you to use your 20.906 as you have been before.

Let me know if you have any problems.

This just means that HUD timezones/day changes are now handled the same way they are in the graphs and stats and the start of your day can be controlled by day_start="5" in the config file. I think given what you've mentioned before, you should set this to zero. This will make it so your day changes at midnight local. If you want to have your day change at 9pm local then day_start="-3" should do it. Make sure to do this before you import since its now stored in the db that way. However, if you want to change day_start at some point, change it in the Config the and click 'Database' > 'Rebuild HUD Cache'.

Thanks for the quick reply. that's a lot of work to go through to just get my time zones right. Too much time to re import and download, and change the new config to all the old stuff, including all the seat locations will need adjusting. etc etc.. guess I'll just live with the wrong time zone changes.

I was hoping it would be a simple change to one of the source files... oh well, appreciate your efforts though. I do understand your explanation both on the new exe file, and on the "-3" time zone differences.

I guess there's a problem. The HUD doesn't come back and
sometimes it doesn't appear at the beginning of the MTT (or SnG).

A quick test tells me that it is being imported as FTP not Stars. I may have the limits messed up though

I just spent three hrs downloading, changing all the preferences, changing the new config file to all the stats I want, font, color limits etc, then recreated my database... sigh...

It imported fine. Stats show in the viewer fine. I can see it autoimporting fine. The HUD doesn't show up... damn, all afternoon wasted. The little pop up box shows the hud as working, but nothing ever shows. I've closed and reopened several times. However, when I try clicking "stop autoimport", the whole thing quits responding...very discouraging. Installed the windows exe version, made all the changes you said, and nothing....

Yea I mean the limits. In rc1, an FTP hand that was fixed limit $1/$2* was getting imported as the following GameType:

Code:
        id: 1
    siteId: 1
  currency: USD
      type: ring
      base: draw
  category: 27_3draw
 limitType: fl
      hiLo: l
smallBlind: 100
  bigBlind: 200
  smallBet: 200
    bigBet: 400
A Stars fixed limit $1/$2 hand imported into the following GameType:

Code:
        id: 2
    siteId: 2
  currency: USD
      type: ring
      base: draw
  category: 27_3draw
 limitType: fl
      hiLo: l
smallBlind: 50
  bigBlind: 100
  smallBet: 100
    bigBet: 200
* This is a hand where the small blind is $0.50, the big blind is $1, the small bet is $1, and the big bet is $2.

I remember this problem, and if i recall correctly, the fix wasn't too difficult. I have some time tonight, so I'm going to see if I can't get it resolved. Not sure when the change is going to feed back into the next release though.

Importing that not wasted, stash that database file away someplace safe with a note that it has hands throught 28 Dec.

s0rrow suggests running fpdb as admin. That problem is new to me.

Damn, the title bar says "version 20.0", I'm going to delete the whole mess and install the source version. I hate the exe version. I did get the hud to run as admin...

But, I've made changes I can't install with the exe version. I don't like the suffix "%" and I tried hudsuffix="" and that is only for suffix's in addition to the "%", it doesn't work. I prefer the menu somewhere other than totally covering the previous hand buttons and relocated it in my old version... and, I changed the time to "-3" and it had no effect. Changed it to "0", still no difference and the hud changed days, as it always has, at 4pm locally.. and, it's pouring rain here to boot... bad day.

Is the latest source version ready to download, where, and what is the latest version of the source. (Where is that damn delete button..oh there it is... bye!!!) I am running Windows Vista, but want the source file, latest one obviously, so how about a link and name to go download it? Thanks

I just installed the source 20.1 and was curious. In the "old" stats.py file it was obvious on the stats I use, to remove the "%". In this new file, I found the stats I use and want to remove the % but it isn't so obvious.

Here's an example line and not sure which % to delete...

def pfr(stat_dict, player):
""" Preflop (3rd street) raise."""
stat = 0.0
try:
stat = float(stat_dict[player]['pfr'])/float(stat_dict[player]['n'])
return (stat,
'%3.1f' % (100.0*stat),
'p=%3.1f%%' % (100.0*stat),
'pfr=%3.1f%%' % (100.0*stat),
'(%d/%d)' % (stat_dict[player]['pfr'], stat_dict[player]['n']),
_('Pre-Flop Raise %')

Everything works... well, almost everything. I tried to change the hud.py file to move the "FPDB Menu" to the center and no luck. Here's the change I made.

self.main_window = win
# move it to the table window's X/Y position (0,0 on the table window usually)
self.main_window.move(self.table.x + 275, self.table.y - 25)

Maybe one of the dozen genius developers can fix me. And, the time changed, but did one weird thing that I am not too concerned with. As a test, I was at one table when 9pm (local) came. I had the hud set for "-3" and the stats for me reset right on time. However, I use one day for my stats and after it recorded the first hand, it showed my count at 17...strange. That was a considerable drop from the 600+ hands just prior to that, but I expect it to show "1" in the hands played... not a big deal, it works otherwise, and I figured out that the %'s have been removed already....

Do you get the same result in the stats viewer and the graphs? Curious to see if you get 17 tomorrow as well. By chance, are any of your hands from the future?

If they are, then I'm going to see if I win or lose them, and not play them if I'm going to lose.

I'll track it tomorrow at time change and see what happens. Yes, the graph and stats agreed, at least when I was done playing and requested the 'next' day since it was after my cutoff. Both had 98 hands for the 'new' day.

Still need to figure out how to move the 'fpdb menu' box out of the way of the prior hands button and link. (see above for the changes I tried from the old prior version... it didn't work..

A Stars fixed limit $1/$2 hand imported into the following GameType:

Code:
        id: 2
    siteId: 2
  currency: USD
      type: ring
      base: draw
  category: 27_3draw
 limitType: fl
      hiLo: l
smallBlind: 50
  bigBlind: 100
  smallBet: 100
    bigBet: 200
* This is a hand where the small blind is $0.50, the big blind is $1, the small bet is $1, and the big bet is $2.
That should be easy enough to fix
