The plumbing needs to be improved before we start adding more HUD features.
It should be pretty easy even with the existing Table code to plug something in for the Mac. It's really not more than a page of code for either Linux or Windows, if I remember correctly, and it should have proper setup still remaining from the original multiplatform design, to be able to direct it on Mac, as well. Really, it all comes down to "none of us have a Mac, and none of us know how to detect a window in the Mac system"

If someone wanted to calculate in advance how many files there were to import, then it could easily be bumped to a progress indicator that was based on percentage, rather than a "indicator that it is doing something".
Another improvement would be stopping the indicator on a program error, but that could also make it very difficult for us to actually detect program errors in the import phase.

The Database will degrade in performance over time, but a significant performance degradation before 500000 hands is probably due to the database indexes becoming corrupt.
One thing that I did when I had an extreme problem with hand import times, was trim my personal HUD cache down to a few days time. When I had over a year of data in my own HUD cache, imports became extremely slow.
If you play a ton, you might want only 30-60 days on your opponents, and .. really.. do you need anything more/less than a week on yourself?
