Meanwhile, just close that particular HUD when you get a table change and let it regenerate when the first hand on the new table comes in.
Actually, it works fine in Windows on Everleaf, as the table window on Everleaf closes, and a new one opens. I haven't tried Tourneys in Linux on Everleaf, but I suspect it would work as well, except the HUD wouldn't auto close, since auto-close isn't currently working on Linux

Thank you.
Good to know that AP works, still, although I really wouldn't want to vouch for it's accuracy. When I wrote that, based on the Everleaf converter, tournament support wasn't even remotely likely to happen. If someone wanted to put in a little elbow grease on it, the Stars or FT converter would be great to convert to use AP, since AP supports virtually every game .. the Everleaf importer only supports flop games, as Everleaf's handhistory for stud games is useless.

Now that I'm a lot more versed in how the internals of the program work, I'd have kept it more up to date, but I've been out of funds there for over a year.

The looks pretty good to me - one of my gripes about the existing deck was the lack a suit on the card.

For us to be able to include the image with FPDB, make modifications and publish the results we need the author to to explicitly state that the image is released with specific licensing terms. (eg. http://artlibre.org/licence/lal/en - Free Art License 1.3)

This is to protect the project and its participants.

Keeping the copyright to the image itself would also (probably) be ok, but we'd need a statement saying that FPDB is allowed to redistribute it with the project indefinitely.

I'd like to avoid more definitive statements on this, i'm not a lawyer or the project lead and others may have very different views on this.

Can you remind me of which version you are using and which platform, and where the problem is being triggered. (From memory it is Win 7, .exe version and unsure)

I remember you have development experience - are you able to set up the source version of FPDB for testing?

packaging/windows/py2exeWalkthroughPython26.txt has a good walkthrough for the installation requirements.

I know there are more important features and things that are on the list of things to fix or do. However, for me personally, or anyone that does a lot of Omaha08 fixed limit, the graphs become distorted and some lines are a waste.

It is a RARE occurrence that when you win a pot that you are uncalled because of the split pot. The "non-showdown" line basically drifts constantly down because of the nature of the game. Hence, the showdown is really not as important.

It would be a nice feature to be able to select "net profit" as the only line that shows. Maybe it's as simple as some equivalent to a REM statement that I can do, so as to show only "net profit" line.

Thx

small HUD bug (or not?).

when I start my 2nd session for a day, the HUD seems to be remembering the preferred seat of last session when joining same table as played in 1st sess.

it doesnt reset automatically and stat positions will be misplaced. "Kill this HUD" helps against this and they will pop to normal positions again after that.

When you leave a table you should kill the HUD for that table, if it doesn't close automatically (I'm working on that). It is also a good idea to close FPDB when you finish your session and start it again for the next session. I (others have reported this, too) have seen odd things happen when the autoimporter goes runs for a long time with no hands to import.

What dog said, unless you want the up-to-the-minute, bleeding-edge, development version. Needless to say, that version hasn't had much testing and sometimes has really interesting bugs--that's why I use it. Anyway, you can get that by pulling from one of our git repos--the original post points to Steffen's git repo. There is a wiki page on how to install from git.

As I said I speak of the project around me. A dev' on french forum (wam-poker) seems to be interested to give some help to fpdb.

I don't know if he already contact you but he probably will pretty soon.

(I already updated to 0.20.906.) No, bulk import also doesn't work. It says "importer : ERROR Hand processed but empty" in the error log. During Auto Import it says: e.g. "IHH20100827 $15K GTD Tourney ID 5708989 No Limit Hold'em $30 + $3(Real Money).txt 1 stored, 0 duplicates, 0 partial, 0 errors (time = 0.016000)...". But the hand doesn't get imported.

Yes, Win7 x64, .exe version 906

The errors are/were occurring mostly when doing a bulk import and FPDB seemed to hang causing Windows to put the Not Responding status on it. It's not hung, just busy. Seems like any of the database hits are slower now (SQLite here). The graphs and ring stats take a lot longer to come up as well as the imports taking more time. The HUD seems the same as before though. I'll mention that I do occasionally see this error pop up at other random times that mostly correspond to doing anything with the database. That is what makes me think it is Windows blocking the refresh of the FPDB window and crashing it.

I have not setup the source code to test, just been way to busy with other projects. If I get some cycles, I certainly can set it up and have a look. Any thing in particular to look for or are the debug parameters documented somewhere?

Keep the green one, just want net profit. I did nose around the graph GUI file. It "looks" like I could simply REM or actually remove two lines (blue plot and red plot) and still get the net. Whoever is working in that area can probably tell me what's best, which line etc.

You will need to recreate your tables and reimport or the filters will continue to malfunction for existing imports.
Unless I'm being very stupid, the latest windows d/load doesn't have a tourney stats option under Viewers.....

I'm getting my tourneys as if they were cash games displayed by level, not a summary of all tourneys and ITM stats etc.

My intention is to rewrite some key parts of the HUD code to make it "easy" for someone to just drop in the required Mac-specific code. It will take me a while to do the plumbing work and then someone will have to do the Mac bit. BTW: if anybody is wondering, I'm not doing this just to support Mac. The plumbing needs to be improved before we start adding more HUD features.

Firstly - Bulk import is pretty much uninterruptible, so while it is running nothing else in FPDB will.

The status indication from bulk import is pretty crappy too, and a 'nice' standalone project for someone to contribute

The Database will degrade in performance over time, but a significant performance degradation before 500000 hands is probably due to the database indexes becoming corrupt.

Database->Rebuild Indexes is worth running - please beware that this will take a lot of time to complete depending on database size.

There is some input and a few debug messages that go only to stdout and not the log files. We are trying to fix this, but it's a fact of life for now.

Its a lot easier to add debug messages to the source version.

It should be pretty easy even with the existing Table code to plug something in for the Mac. It's really not more than a page of code for either Linux or Windows, if I remember correctly, and it should have proper setup still remaining from the original multiplatform design, to be able to direct it on Mac, as well. Really, it all comes down to "none of us have a Mac, and none of us know how to detect a window in the Mac system"

If someone wanted to calculate in advance how many files there were to import, then it could easily be bumped to a progress indicator that was based on percentage, rather than a "indicator that it is doing something".

Another improvement would be stopping the indicator on a program error, but that could also make it very difficult for us to actually detect program errors in the import phase.

One thing that I did when I had an extreme problem with hand import times, was trim my personal HUD cache down to a few days time. When I had over a year of data in my own HUD cache, imports became extremely slow.

If you play a ton, you might want only 30-60 days on your opponents, and .. really.. do you need anything more/less than a week on yourself?

OK, I didn't mess with what Sorrow said yet but should be able to figure it out. I want to change what stats show up and the colors used for each range%. I also definitely want to remove the player names, as long as I can get it reliably staying in the same spot.

So, how do I do that? Should I get a new snapshot version? I have no clue what a HUD configurator is.

More problems... I'm not sure if I installed the snapshot right. I extracted it and ran it from a new folder. I tried bulk import pointing to the HH folders, tried to load a graph and nothing. Since then I've played a little and a graph pops up, but it is just recent stuff.

2. Now in the snapshot I see the configurator. I made a new layout and saved but the HUD is exactly the same.

3. I followed the instructions I linked above, but it was a pain to get the HUD_config file saved... The only file I saw was HUD_config.example and text editor saved that as an "EXAMPLE" file. so I saved a copy as .txt and windows recognized it as XML.

I noted what is my preferred seats and entered it but stats are still showing up in the wrong places too.

I guess I fixed all these problems by changing stuff in the config file, and I am assuming that in the future (unless the config format changes) I just copy this file over the one in the new folder to install. :shrugs:

My only problem now is that I don't understand easily what all these stats in the configurator mean (esp. for razz). I'm guessing that when I right click, all of those are the ones available and the others are just random things.

My problem now is that I have no clue how to change the colors of stats for certain % ranges.

I sort of figured it out now too, at least on the right track. I think...

stat_hicolor="#F05000" stat_hith="35" stat_locolor="#408000" stat_loth="20" stat_name="pfr"

makes PFR green below 20 and orange above 35

hudcolor="#98FFB0" hudprefix="" hudsuffix="" popup="default" row="1" stat_name="playername"

I'm guessing hudcolor is the default color when not pat the HI/LOth value. There is no way to get more than 3 colors right?

From looking at [hudprefix="" hudsuffix=""] in something else it looks like it will just add whatever text you enter like PFR to label the stat.

This should be added to the wiki, along with whatever explanation of opacity. Maybe I will do it when I actually make sure how this works.
