Anyone else not getting this working with Windows 7? (It worked fine with XP btw.)
01-01-2010 , 04:34 PM
I have upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7 and FreePHG is working fine in active mode. Unfortunately passive mode isn't working at all. No handhistory and live files are written to disk. I have UAC turned off and also running Party and FreePHG as admin and XP compatibilty mode doesn't help. Does anyone have an idea how I can use the passive mode with FreePHG?

Hi Juk, even though you probably don't have much time to do anything with fphg right now, I figured since fphg already distinguishes observed hand histories from hero played hands, this might not be too enormous of a task to request.

How about adding an extra configuration parameter, "OBSERVED_OUTPUT_PATH" or similar, in addition to "OUTPUT_PATH", which would cause observed hand histories to be stored in separate folder? Background for this request is that as you probably know, fphg sometimes writes malformed hand histories, and if they are hero hands, they are imported into tracker databases and messing up session tracking, reports, etc. Having different folders for observed hands would allow trackers to import only observed hands (where random errors don't matter as much), and bet pot scripts etc read from hero hands folder.

Have you tried with "UAC turned off" (I'm not a Vista user so you'll have to read some of the posts in this thread about this).

I'm not sure if the method I used in v3.0x works on 64bit OS, so it could be the problem.

I'll try and have a look, but probably not going to be for the next few weeks (this should be pretty easy to add).

I have 10 friends that can test the software . But they aren't registered on this forum

Anyone know if its possible to run "livetracking" in HEM and have freephg in "active mode"?
03-21-2010 , 08:03 AM
any ideas why FPHG keeps crashing the hem hud on sng's but not on cash games?

I usually get random crashed in cash games but i can't find any settings that work with sng's. hem hud just crashes almost instantly.

I use active mode and been trying to change the delay and priority but not working yet

It's because sometimes FPHG outputs a corrupt hand history and for some reason HEM HUD locks up when it sees it (not sure why it happens more for SNGs than for cash). This in turn then causes the Party client to lock up, whilst giving the false impression that FPHG has caused the crash (ie: if HEM HUD freezes it causes the message queue of the table to stall as well).

Trying to tweak the FPHG settings won't really have any effect as if FPHG finds something that looks like a HH file (but is actaully a corrupted copy that's being moved around in memory) then it will effect both active and passive modes similarly.

In the last version of FPHG I tried hard to make as few of these corrupted hands as possible get output, but really there isn't much more I can do and a certain amount of these has to be expected. To solve the HEM HUD lock-up problem you really need to get onto the HEM people and ask that they fix their parsing / error detection routines so that it doesn't lock up when these corrupt files are encountered.

hi, i have a problem with the v 3.03:
the live-HH are not written. the live-folder update in the folder options (date of change is set to the moment i open the tables), but no HH file appears.

i use Vista and run fghp as an admin.

do someone have a idea how i can fix that?

You might have to set up FPHG to run as administrator (not 100% sure how as I don't use Vista, but earlier in the thread people mention needing this to get the hook to work).

Have you tried both passive and active modes?

Passive mode can use alot more CPU time though, but if you were getting crashes with v2.14 before then passive mode is the best thing to try first as it shouldn't cause any crashes.

Hi juk, first you are the best!!!!!

Please try to resolve our problem with partypoker.it, i think is not a big issue to fix (your skill needed obv) since probably is a problem for different application name (partyitalia.exe)
please try to resolve this!

On win 7, on all the computers I've set this up on, using the defaults and version 3.03, the program also puts HH text documents into the root of the C:\ drive as well as in C:\Program Files (x86)\FreePHG\HandHistories

any ideas how to fix this, it's just annoying to have to keep deleting hand history text files from the c drive

Meh, FPHG seems to have started crashing again after today's update

Not really sure what to do anymore as I've already stripped away all the code I can from the injected DLL and there isn't really much left to cause crashes. Gonna look into using some alternate hooking code, but this is gonna mean I'll have to put mine under GPL and release the source (so hopefully it's not gonna end up as the basic for password stealing Trojans or something, etc).

Will post back later.

OK, so this sucks:

Code:
if (IsBadReadPtr(Ptr,I+26))
  break;
if (Ptr[0]=='#') <-- Crashes here with an access violation even though the above function is supposed to have tested it :(
 .
 .
 .
Not really sure how to get round this

OK, I think I've found a way round it - testing atm to make sure it's stable... Will upload the new installer and make a post later when more sure it's worked.
