Re: FPHG available

Still not working.

My ini.file settings are these:

OUTPUT_PATH = C:\FreePHG_HandHistories
HH_EXTENSION = hhf
OBSERVED_ONLY = 0
ADD_6MAX_TAG = 0
OUTPUT_HH = 1
OUTPUT_LIVE = 1

I'm right in thinking I don't have to play a few hands first?

Re: FPHG available

EDIT:

Just got it all up and running.

I manually copied and pasted the old v2.09 files from desktop>>>>laptop and uninstalled the other files.

Is there any downside to using v2.09 for cash games on this new client?

One problem I noticed(but think its most likley a PAHUD problem)is that after I sit then play for 10mins each table I'm at the PAHUD stats state N/A like the table has broke down.
Just thought I'd ask just incase someone else mention a problem like this.

No, it should be fine.

I've uploaded a version of v2.09 for people to test to see if it also cures the disappearing buttons problem:

http://www.jukofyork.com/FreePHG_Install_209.exe

Remember to delete your current FPHG installation before installing this, as it need to create the ".ini" file in the folder where the HH are saved.

Re: FPHG available

Hey Juk,I think I know what may have been causing issues.So others who are having problems can try this.

I have found when the PP client is in "Run As Administrator"mode the live folder is created but it's not picking up hands.

I just changed it back and now it's picking up hands.

Tell you it's pretty funny it took me this long as I have been changing loads of diffrent things in an effort to get the program to work

Have you also tried running FPHG in "Run As Administrator" mode? I've never tried, but I did read a while back that to get BetPot running you had to run Party, FPHG and AHK all in admin mode under Vista.

Re: FPHG available

I have fphg, betpot ahk script, party, HEM, SpadeEye, all that stuff running as a normal user in vista. All works just fine. I also have UAC enabled. So I don't get where this "you have to run this and that as an admin and/or remove UAC" stuff is coming from.

Yes thats what I'm saying.Coming to think of it,even on my desktop I run PP under normal user(not administrator)I know PAHUD+PT say you should run programs under Administrator and this is true for sure for FTP at least.But when I run PP as Administrator FPHG doesn't work YO

Re: FPHG available

Since the latest Party update I haven't been playing there. Until now that is. Is it possible that FPHG and the Party software are somehow incompatible? If I play AND mine then the party client crashes on a regular basis. If there is any chance of resolving this issue then I'd be galad to help (log files etc. not coding).

Recently updated to v2.14 from 2.09 but the problem persists.

There were some people who got a problem with vanishing buttons after the recent upgrade, but I think either Party fixed something in their client that was being upset/exaggerated by FPHG or these players have left (I haven't heard from any players about this problem for several weeks now).

I've been running FPHG every time I play to see if I can replicate these problems and so far haven't suffered a crash or any disappearing buttons after several 100's of hours now.

If you are having problems with FPHG v2.x then it's always a good idea to try the old v0.x version (see the download page for the link) instead. On more modern PCs the memory scanning method used in the old version is less likely to be a problem.

As far as trying to track down problems via log files, then it's gonna be almost impossible. Firstly, I myself cannot replicate the crash and secondly the crash is happening from withing the Party memory space - meaning that it could be any number of things which aren't even related to FPHG.

Re: FPHG available

FPHG sometimes doesn't save hand history files correctly because it does not check for characters not allowed in a file name. e.g. for a table called "1M$: Sattelite bla bla", freephg won't save the hand history file at all on a fat/fat32 disk. On a ntfs disk it will create an empty file called "1$M" and save it as an alternate ntfs stream, which isn't very helpful either.

Btw, the party poker software itself isn't any better, it won't save hand histories for those tables either

But if there is any way you could fix this or simply publish the source code, that would be great!

Cheers
Ben

Re: FPHG available

Would it be possible (not too much work) to add an option that would add a remark to the file if someone is sitting out? or perhaps just leaving the idle player off the hh?

Re: FPHG available

Gball,

afaik FPHG doesn't create the text itself, it's the Party Poker App that is generating the history text, FPHG just copies it/saves it.

However iirc last time I checked sitting out players were marked like
"playername is sitting out" when sitting out and as "playername joined the table" when returning.

If this is not the case anymore, it's not really FPHG's fault...

The vanishing buttons doesn't have anything todo with FreePHG.
Must be coincidence.

It's an old Party problem, that used to show up even without FreePHG being installed.

I think possibly the problem was somehow exaggerated by FPHG as some reported getting it without FPHG running and others reported only getting it with FPHG running. Probably the extra CPU cycles taken by grabbing/saving the hands pushed the client over the edge and some weird thread bug hit because of it. They seem to have fixed whatever was causing it anyway as nobody has reported any more problems with FPHG+Party since the last couple of updates.

Yes, FPHG just saves what the old Party ".hhf" would have looked like so if they don't mark sitting out players it won't either.

I can prolly add something that converts illegal filename characters to underscores. Will look at this when I get some time (there is also another fix to do with players with accented characters in their name and yet another fix for occasional corrupted ".live" filenames causing the writing to stop for a single table waiting to be released atm).

I think the problem is still there. I can't recall exactly why but for me the vanishing buttons changed to Party just crashing (maybe a diff version of FPHG or a newer Party version). Anyway, I got PartyEzCash instead and it basically works great, with maybe two crashes in two months or so - but last night I used BetPot + FPHG for the first time for ages (as I changed my screen name so couldn't use EzCash until it got updated) and Party crashed again after a hour.

I suspect that those who did have problems generally either got a better PC or else started to use EzCash. It sure is a weird thing and people as stupid as me can just blame it on gremlins.

It's certainly a strange one, but the Party client definitely does seem prone to getting upset by random stuff: a few months back I tried using something called "Music IP Mixer" and started to get Party crashes. Even stranger was that just using it before a session to make a m3u playlist and then closing it down would still sometimes cause the Party client to crash! Luckily it was about the only thing I had installed for a while and it quickly became obvious what was at fault. Since not using it I've never had any more crashes, but it does go to show just how susceptible the Party client can be to weirdness.

Re: FPHG available

Hello,
I'm having a problem with FreePHG 2.14.

The files does not import properly in Hold'em Manager.
I opened the files with notepad and it seems that there is a problem with some caracters. I checked old HH from freePHG and they import properly.

It still seems to be working fine for me and so far nobody else has mentioned any problems. Try manually deleting the FPHG folder and reinstalling it that way (sometimes the old TestDLL.dll file can get locked and refuse to update).

If that doesn't work then can you post some of the problem hands?

Thank you for your help.

I tried to reinstall and it's still not working.
I don't know if it is important but I'm on Windows XP Pro SP3, in French.
Here is a sample hand but it does't displays exactly what I see in Notepad. I think it's better if I send you a file by email. In my file, line 1 and 3 are on the same line with two "squares" between them.

edit : sent you the file on your yahoo mail.
