TableCrab2: PokerStars hotkeys for linux and windows

happy to announce the release of TableCrab2 - PokerStars hotkeys for linux/wine and windows

TableCrab2 is developed and tested on linux/wine and runs nicely on windowsXP (no idea what other windows oses it may run upon).

features:
- configurable hotkeys for the most important table actions
- a built in hand viewer
- tl;dr docs
- a bit of this and that that makes live on PokerStars easier

in contrast to other hotkey managers TableCrab is working with fixed sized tables and you have to setup templates before you can make use of hotkeys. the process should be intuitive enough: create template - take screenshot - fill in template by clicking the respective points on the screenshot.

get the zip from here:

..unzip and run TableCrab2.exe

the setup tab:

the hotkeys tab:

the hand viewer:

settings:

finally, the help viewer:

Re: TableCrab2: PokerStars hotkeys for linux and windows

TableCrab-0.2.0 released

the new release is available here: [http://code.google.com/p/tablecrab/downloads/list]

news:

- many small improvements of the user interface
- added a new hotkey "Table Size Next" to resize tables on the fly [1]
- other minor fixes

[1] NOTE LINUX/WINE: the new hotkey is not working on wine 1.1.4.2 up to 1.3.0 due to a bug in these versions. check what wine version you have by running this command on a console: wine --version

currently the latest official version of wine is 1.3.0 so upgrading does not work. you may either have to wait for a new wine release, downgrade or compile wine directly from the repository. [http://www.winehq.org/] may have some details.

Hey, I have not had any time to really work with your new release. I was able to work with it again yesterday but I have not put it to use yet.

Re: TableCrab2: PokerStars hotkeys for linux and windows

I have had some time to use your new program.

I'm not sure if these are bugs or just problems on my end. My comp is getting old.

I will tell TC to fold a hand but it will fold the hand I want and the hand on the next table waiting for action. It does not happen often which makes me think it is on my end.

It also seems to have trouble recognizing the table that is waiting for action. I did not have this problem with the previous version. At least I don't think I had this problem. I'm thinking of using the older version next to see if it happens again.

I'm not sure how to make the pot bet work.

And everything else is pretty smooth.

rainy day today.

question: are you using move mouse to active table?

if TableCrab folds a hand on another table reason could ber that PokerStars throws another table to the foreground while TableCrab is still busy folding a hand on the current one. i got this one on my todo list. see what i can do.

how to bet pot ..i made such a nice sketch in the docs ;-)
to bet pot you have to tell TableCrab where the pot is. two pints: topLeft, bottomRigth. this will enable TableCrab to "read" the number present in that region.

Re: TableCrab2: PokerStars hotkeys for linux and windows

took a look at the accidently fold issue.

what TableCrab does is double clicking buttons and checkboxes because they are not always respomding zo single clicks (you can easily test this by clicking a checkbox multiple times - you should find that some clicks are ignored). downside is that double clicking may lead to clicks accidently being send to an unrelated table once PS decides to throw the next table to the foreground.

so it's really a trade off. clicks working reliably or one or the other accidental click. the next release of TableCrab will add some more cheks to minimize the risk of accidently clicking unrelated tables. minimize that is. so, please keep reporting any issues.

yes, it adds some more checks to make shure clicks are not misdirected. in case the problem still persists i revert TableCrab to the old behaviour. btw, can anyone verify that clicks are not always accepted by stars? maybe i am working around a bug in my setup only.

on another note:
anyone on ubuntu mavrick, fedora 13 (..) yet? PokerStars is currently not conecting to servers on these releases. workaround is here: [ http://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=24357 ]

Re: TableCrab2: PokerStars hotkeys for linux and windows

TableCrab2-0.3.2 released

this release fixes the clicking of unrelated tables issue. as usual, get the zip from here:

..unzip and run TableCrab2.exe

background: i was digging into this issue again and found a slight inconsistency in wines source code. to work around this inconsistency TableCrab2 double clicked buttons and checkboxes instead of single clicking as in TableCrab1. this is reverted now to use single clicks again, eliminating the risk of accidently clicking unrelated tables.

note, there is a downside to this fix: checkboxes may have to be be clicked twice to get the desired effect. this may or may not get fixed in future releases.

you have to tell TC where the pot is. in the template there are two points for this: potTopLeft and potBottomRight, that is the top/left and bottom/right corners of the pot rectangle. add some space to the left of top/left and right of bottom/right because PS may resize the pot at times. best seat a few minutes at a PlayMoney table until you get it right. also note that stars moved the pot slighly in some of the previous releases so you may have to readjust your template.

i'll take a look into this. can you give me any details? like you viewed many hands in the hand viewer over the course of your session or was it just a few?

Re: TableCrab2: PokerStars hotkeys for linux and windows

took a look at the crash issue. i had random crashes from time to time as well. most likely they are caused by bugs in the gui framework TableCrab is based upon (Qt / WebKit). not much i can do here. if something goes wrong down there evil will arise and crash TableCrab the hard way.

there is a new major release of these underlaying components to come soon and i hope this already fixed. i will upgrade TableCrab as soon as possible.

thanks and keep reporting bugs

No problem. Thanks for the great program. I'm still not making any money playing poker but at least its more fun now that I can play with TC.

O and it only crashed when I looked through many hands. I don't have an average of course but I'd guesstimate that I went through 10 or more hands in the replay viewer before it'd crash.

i guess poker is about the long time patience. though ..last time i played the 3s i wished i had an axe at hand

10 hands is not that much. could be a null pointer thrown in somewhere. still waiting for the 4.8 release from here: [ http://www.riverbankcomputing.co.uk/.../pyqt/download ]. these guys are ususally working pretty fast.
