i'm having an issue on party, when I try to open the player notes/chat tab, it just flicks open/closed nonstop like it is 'flashing'. The same thing happens to the betting buttons, which go invisible until mouseover. I have tried removing/readding the site, and changing the layout, but this happens anytime SNT is running. I appreciate any help!

Request: mouse click + stack table hotkey
Yeah, I know there are fold/cal/bet + stack table, but I'd like to have the requested above

Also, I want to note a bug, but I can't reproduce it. When I clicked start a very strange message, with very strange characters pop up telling me there's was an internet error. Clearly I didn't have any problem, and even if I had it, the message displayed was really strange

what would you use this for?

may have been a temporary problem with the website, causing the license check to fail. as long as you aren't seeing it consistently i wouldn't worry about this one

I'm trying to optimize my stackandtile configuration for 12+ tabling using the "move to grid after entering pot option".

"Iplaytourneys" wrote an article on their setup using stackandtile awhile back saying,

When wanting to mass-table, I use a different setup with one screen with six slots. And I use the "Move to Grid: After Entering Pot" option. My slots will look like:

5 2 3
6 1 4

Slot 1 will be the slot with all tables/stacks involved and they just pop up when action is required. Here, it's very important to set up your StackAndTile well because all websites have the option to pop up your table when action is required. If you don't set it up correctly, then you will mis-click a lot and blame StackAndTile for not working well. I think this is a very common mistake people make.

With this setup, I can play up to 50 tables at the same time on my laptop or any other screen. This was the highest number of tables I've ever played and I didn’t really feel stressed. Mostly, I will have one focus table and the rest is just clicking to build stacks.

Question, he mentions 50 tabling in this setup with only six slots. I realize he is stacking in slot one but what happens if he enters the pot in more than five tables at a given time?

I'd really like to have less slots on my grid and make them larger but was never sure what happened to a table if it ran out of slots to move to in the grid.

Thanks in advance Greg.

If playing from stack in "move to grid" after "entering the pot" is it best to set the "New Tables slot" as equal to the Stack slot? Will those new tables go to the bottom of the stack slot without disruption of play at the top?

Its easy to test this, which you should always do when you are unsure about how the program will handle your tables, so that you are confident and know what to expect. Just sit out a bunch of tables and move them to the grid so that the slots are full. Then put some active tables in the stack and use a "Send table to bottom" hotkey

When all grid slots are full, and a stacked table requires action, it will pop to the top of the stack so that you can see it. If there were no open slots, and it stayed at the bottom of the stack, then you would time out. So instead I just move the table to the top of the stack, and if a grid slot frees up, it then moves there.

That guy tried many different setups. I think he may also have been using "Fold+Stack", "Call+Stack", and "Bet+Stack" hotkeys so that the tables would free up the slots after every action. But I could be wrong. We were in contact a lot and he had quite a few feature requests

Its never best to put New Tables in the same slot as the Stack Slot, for this exact reason.

You may be able to get around this by trying the Extra Advanced Option for:

Code:
send_new_tables_to_bottom=1
which may avoid that problem

In the article I quoted above it sounded as if he was using six slots with the one slot dedicated to the stack and he was playing in "move tables to grid after entering the pot". Above it sounds as if you are describing what would happen in "when turn to act" grid setup.

I'll test it out as you mentioned me to try but if you know already what happens in an "after entering the pot" setup when all grid spaces are filled with "action tables"? I assume the stack slot still pops up the most urgent table in the queue but say I click to raise or call on that table, where does it go if there is no grid space for it to occupy? back in the stack? will it still be brought to the grid automatically once a space opens up for it? I'm assuming it stays in the stack but hoping that it stays in the queue as well and plays out in similar fashion to how it would if I were playing solely in "stack mode".

Hope that makes sense.

With the "Fold+Stack", "Call+Stack", and "Bet+Stack" hotkeys as you describe above cannot this also be accomplished by just checking "click call or bet also stacks table" in the advanced options of stack and tile? I guess by having hotkeys it would allow you to choose when that happens though rather than it always happening on screen. I use the middle button of my mouse to stack tables and it seems to be working out well for me.

Thanks Greg.

The tables will pop up in the stack as they become urgent. If you click call or raise to enter the pot, but there are no slots open, then the table will just stay in the stack and not move. It will not be brought to the grid automatically when one opens up. If all grid slots are full, then tables will just pop up in the stack as if you were playing only in a stack.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'stay in the queue as well'?

Yep that would get the same effect. That option is for mouse clicks on the buttons, where as the hotkeys are if you wanted to use keyboard shortcuts

Ya, what I meant here is that I assume if it stays stays in the stack other urgent tables that are more important than this one will be brought to the top of the stack over this table??? right?

Ex. I click call or raise to enter a pot and all available grid slots are full. The table stays there in the stack but say another table underneath in the stack needs attention while this hand is still going on; awaiting opponents actions, etc. Do the tables underneath in the stack still move to the top?

I've played stacked before so I do have some idea how playing stacked works but I just wasn't sure if it was handled differently in the situation mentioned above in StackandTile when playing in "move table to grid after entering the pot" mode.

What you're expecting is what happens. The 'Move to Grid' setting is only for moving to grid. When popping tables up in the stack, tables pop up only as action is required. Once action is no longer required, the table is no longer urgent and other tables are free to pop up over it.

Playing with move table to grid after entering pot mode on only Stars I ran into problems with tables in the stack jumping to the top while the table on top of the stack had the action keys displayed causing me a number of misclicks.

I have the "popup table whenever user action is required" turned off inside of pokerstars. I do play a number of different tournament styles; hyper, turbo, and reg speed. Any idea what could be causing this issue? No table mods or anything.

I do use hotkeys to sometimes throw tables that go postflop or had action back from the grid to the stack but I assumed StackandTile would handle them in a way where they wouldn't cause interference with other tables in the stack.

I have to trust that the top table of the stack with the action buttons will stay the top table until I'm done acting on it. Until then I'll stop playing in this mode.

how many tables do you estimate you were playing?

can you click File->Current Layout and paste me everything? ill see if i notice any settings that may be interfering

also do you think its possible you could record a quick 5 minute video demonstrating the problem?

there's nothing in the config that i can see that would cause it

the only possibility i can think of is this:

1. a few tables in the stack require action.
2. the most urgent pops to the top.
3. you enter the pot so the top table moves out of the stack and into the grid
4. since that top table moved, now another table underneath is exposed and visible
5. that newly visible table may require action, but is NOT the next most urgent
6. so, as SaT recognizes that and brings the most urgent to the top

so for that split second between 5 and 6, that may be what you're noticing. it would be really helpful if you could make a quick video showing the problem a few times.

i am also investigating the code myself now. i thought i had fixed this problem though..

yeah that problem above should have been fixed a few versions ago..

if you suspect that using hotkeys to send the tables back to the stack may be an issue, can you please test it by using this setting in your config:

Code:
[settings]
send_to_bottom_on_stack=1
..
that will cause the "Stack Table" hotkey to also move the table to the bottom, so that it won't interfere with the top of your stack. test with just this and let me know if you still see the problem

Ya. Ok. Maybe I'll try a video later at a lower stake or play tables. It definitely wasn't a split second though. Once the random jumps started to occur I tried to make sure i was patient enough to wait and I still had some misclicks when tables were jumping to the top of the stack over top a table that needed action.

Sorry Greg. I haven't tested that mode yet. I've been playing with a smaller grid in move to grid "when action required" and enjoying the flow so far with no problems. My table count hasn't been anything over ten though so I may still look into "after entering the pot" mode down the line. I did make the change you suggested above to my layout file and moved the line to the correct place in that file.

I'll try and test it today if I get the chance but probably going to play my main session in the first mode mentioned above.

How does stackandtile determine which is the most urgent table in the stack?

well first, did you turn on the Advanced Option for "Stack Table at End of Hand"? if that's not turned on, then of course this wouldn't work

next, for this to work, you would need to make sure you're using Preferred Seating:
http://www.stackandtile.com/sat/help/preferred-seating

as for decks, whats important is that none of the deck face colors match the background behind the cards, whether that be the table felt, or the other background colors behidn the cards such as the 'floor' (not sure what to call it, but the part of the table outside of the felt past the player names and avatars). see this page for more specifics:
http://www.stackandtile.com/sat/help...-and-hole-card

using a basic deck and clicking on the white part as shown on that page should be fine
