Are you getting a lot of import errors?
Could you open Task Manager when you try to import, go to the Processes tab, sort by CPU and let me know if PostgreSQL or SharpStats spends more time towards the top of the list?

Thanks,

This is all cake hh files, no other network ie. fulltilt etc.

I guess im getting the usual amount of import errors, i dont see unusual amount.

Sharpstat cpu usage stay low, 1-5% so not spiking and postgres is usually around 25%(1core) i gather.

Maybe try to import like 1k first and see if that goes well?

700k takes a long time on HM so I wouldn't be surprised if a non-commercial program would take a lot more time.

well, pt3 imports avg of 1400h/sec and sharpstats starts well but every minute it loses speed eventually pretty much halting so I got the hands imported by just splitting it up 50k hands at a time.

Still its weird, i dont understand why its slowing down the longer its running? This happening on about 10 machines tested on.

The only thing I can think of is that the indexers aren't keeping up. Your CPU usage numbers corraborate that, since SharpStats should be maximizing a core and PostgreSQL should only be using about 3-6%. I will research this a little and see if there's something I can do to speed it up.

The only method that I know of (and I can't verify that it works) is to uninstall PostgreSQL and then remove the user postgres from Windows.

You might want to give 'dbpass' and 'postgrespass' (without the quotes) a try for the password first, though.

Go to Control Panel-->Users and Passwords

The exact name of the applet varies, depending on your version of Windows. Locate postgres (you may have to get into an Advanced screen or two) and delete it.

If you let me know which version of Windows you're running, I'll try to get you more detailed help.

Sorry about taking so long to get back to you. Finding this information wasn't as easy as I thought. To delete the postgres account, go to Start and type 'cmd' (without the quotes) into the search box to open a "DOS" window.
Enter this command: net user postgres /delete
This should delete the postgres account.

Hope this helps,

Beta 6.8 is now available. Check it out here

Beta 6.8:
--Added "Day of the Week" view to the Hold'Em Cash tab
--Added a PokerStars Tournament Results importer
--Added an Edit button to the Folders configuration area
--Fixed the "Database is being used by another user" bug
--Updated the PokerStars Importer to use parameters. Fixes the last non-standard date format bug
--Improved the Tournament Importer for Cake tournaments
--Added resets for the Tournament and Bonus databases in the Database Maintenance section
--Importer now temporarily suspends a few of the indexes during the import process. This should help to alleviate some of the slowdown caused by large bulk imports.

red, have you still been unable to program some logic or whatever is needed to graph tournament results (ie. net profit, finish position, etc.)?

Uhhhh. What? SharpStats has always had a Tournament Results graph. You can view by Net Profit, ROI% and ITM%. Just choose Tournament Results from the drop-down list in the Profit Graph section of the Reports/Graphs tab.

Does the poker client software have an option to change the way these are presented in the hand histories? If not, you'll have to change your Regional Settings through the Control Panel to match the hand histories. I'm not sure how to change SharpStats to help you without breaking it for other people.

Important note to everyone: it looks like Cake has changed their hand histories again and I'm not sure how SharpStats will react. I will be testing things out this week, but if anyone has any hand histories that they'd be willing to share, I'd appreciate it if you could send them to redlotus5@sbcglobal.net. I'm particularly interested in MTT and SnG since I don't have enough time to play in one of these to get a batch of hand histories myself.

Thanks,

Yeah, SS doesn't import the new hand histories.

Cake added the time stamp so perhaps that's the reason.

I asked about this before, but maybe now you could add the $/hour column.

Again man, great job!

It's actually a lot more complicated than just the time stamp. They've made a lot of changes.

The $/hour is on my list both for cash games and tournaments.

I know that this has taken quite a bit longer than most of you would have liked, but SharpStats Beta 7 is now available.

This version is primarily an update to make SharpStats compatible with the new Cake hand history format. It also makes a couple of changes to the way that tournament results are stored. Please be sure to read the full announcement on my website, as it contains important information about things that may need to be done both before and after updating.

Thanks,

Thanks, awesome job

However, I have been getting some errors.

1. I noticed that the EV seems to be getting calculated incorrectly. Basically it isn't getting calculated at all for the new hands and is just the same value as the $won.

2. I have been getting some errors while importing hands. Basically from the 9th till the 12th of May about 90% of the hands of those hands didn't get imported and the SS just said can't import from the [hands folder].

Even when I try to pass the new hands through the conv/parser I still keep getting incorrect format error.

...let's just hope that this is the last hand history update from Cake
