Also, I'm planning to add location-based bankroll tracking (so players can track their balances at different casinos as you mentioned). I'm thinking of tracking the balances automatically based on location though (and allowing withdrawals and deposits at each location). This would likely save the user some taps when saving a session. What do you think about this solution? Or would you still prefer having user-defined bankrolls?
Thanks again for the feedback!
I prefer having transaction details:
a) To view all of the text I have included in the Notes field.
b) To see the actual transaction $+/- amount that is obscured if the Note is too long.
c) To easily edit transactions and not have to delete and re-add transactions if there's a mistake.
I'd still prefer having user-defined bankrolls. The problem with automatic bankrolls is that rarely do things work out perfectly without having to change the information anyway.
For example: Say I have $5k in a box at Jimmy's Casino and the same in the automatic Jimmy's Casino bankroll on the app. So I take $3k physically out of my box to play, and win $2k. So now the app would automatically show my Jimmy's Casino bankroll at $7k. However, I didn't actually redeposit the money physically in my box at Jimmy's Casino yet. I took the cash home, went to play at a different club, etc. I only want the Jimmy's Casino bankroll to actually change when I physically deposit and withdraw money at the casino. So instead of the app automatically trying to track that information, I would prefer user-defined bankrolls so I can manually enter transactions when I actually deposit and withdraw at the physical locations.
I understand the point of what you're trying to do to actually make it easier and automatic for users, but I find that it actually requires more work to manually fix the assumptions that the app makes with regards to how players keep bankrolls instead of just letting us manage our own bankrolls on our own. For example, when I imported all of my past sessions, suddenly I have an $xxx,xxx.00 bankroll because that's the net positive of my past sessions? Um, no, that money's over x years and is mostly spent and gone by now. So now I have to manually enter transactions to fix the amount I actually have now.
