PokerTracker has detected a permissions issue which prevents it from running.
Please use Disk Utility to repair your disk permissions and run PokerTracker again. If that fails please contact support for additional troubleshooting assistance."
A very small number of users have seen the same problem as you, but it is certainly not "a lot" - this is a very rare problem. The error message has already told you what to do, you must run the OS X Disk Utility and then use it to repair your Disk Permissions before PokerTracker 4 can run. This error message occurs when we discover that your operating system's default file security permissions have been altered in a way that would not allow PT4 to work, running Disk Utility to repair your disk permissions will solve this problem the vast majority of the time.
If this does not work, then you must change the permissions manually using these instructions -
1. Close PokerTracker4 and reboot. Do not open any applications, just follow the instructions below.
2. Open the OS X Terminal (Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal) and copy/paste this into the new window:
sudo mkdir /Users/Shared/Library/Preferences
You may need to enter your administrator password when you do this and for security purposes it may not show anything as you type it in.
3. Using the terminal again copy/paste this:
sudo chmod 777 /Users/Shared/Library/Preferences
4. Close the Terminal
5. Run PokerTracker 4
If you follow these instructions and the problem remains, please create a new support ticket, and make sure you look for your response from our staff in your SPAM folder - OR - log into your pokertracker.com account before you submit the support ticket, you can then check your account periodically for a response - we generally respond within a 48 hour period.
