We just haven't had time to add the auto-refresh feature yet.

gotcha, i guess a better way to ask would have been if you were planning to re implement the auto refresh feature.

The pop-up stats also go out on the right of the screen.

Yes, we definitely plan on adding this feature.

This is a known problem. I'll get it fixed.

Re: PokerTracker 3 (Beta 9 Release - 23-Apr-2008) - incl. HUD!

btw, I don't necessarily love the auto-refresh feature in PT2; frequently when auto-importing I'd open up a second instance of PT2 to run queries or whatever because whatever view I was in could take a long-ass time to refresh, and it's annoying as hell to sit and wait for a 30 second query to run because I imported 20 new hands.

Anyway, I wanted to ask what the best way is to look through a list of hands, the way the Game Notes tab works in PT2 or the Hands tab in HM. Like, I want to look at a list of all the hands I've played this month and sort by biggest pot. How do I do that? The best way I've figured out is to make a custom report and add the relevant stats, but tbh I'm finding the available stats in reports a little disappointing. The stats seem kinda random - like, there's "Turn check" but not "turn bet" or "turn raise" or anything along those lines. I really like the way that HM shows the action in between each street in its Hands tab - like, it'll say

[flop] XC [turn] XR [river] BC - which means you c/c flop, c/r turn, bet-call river - thus allowing you to look at a tiny amount of space and reconstruct exactly how the hand played out. This is a huge improvement over PT2, where you pretty much had to look at the HH to figure out how it played.

Also, I kinda miss the way PT2's game notes tab had two panels (where the lower panel had details on the hand selected in the upper panel, like every players' cards (if known), how much money they won/lost, etc).

We plan on having functionality similar to the Game Notes tab in PT2.

You've gotta keep in mind that I've been focusing most of my energy on implementing major features. Once that's done, I can add the polish, which are all the nice little features that really make a program shine.

We've been focusing on a solid foundation, and it's paying off. Instead of dealing with major bugs in code written months ago, we're mostly dealing with bugs in code written just recently.

We're also focusing on good design rather than rushing major features out the door. That means we're able to add nice smaller features with minimal work. An example of how our solid foundation is helping us is that I just started on iPoker support this morning. I'm almost done with the initial coding and I hope to have it to alpha testers tonight. I'm talking support for the XML files, the PT2 exported files and the datamined files. I'm also talking full Hud support. All in one day! Naturally, there will be bugs that will need to be worked out, but that just goes to show how our philosophy is paying off.

We don't have all the nice shiny features yet (they are coming, I can promise you that), but what we have is a solid foundation that will allow all sorts of interesting features to be rapidly developed with relatively few bugs.

Great to hear that ipoker support is coming soon. Just out of interest, I am sure you are aware that different ipoker skins are running different software releases, after some skins updated a few weeks ago.

I know that a patch was put out to support the new hand history format, but people still playing under a skin that didn't upgrade were told not to use the fix as PT2 wouldn't work. If I remember the reason was that the fix simply regarded all hands after a certain date as new style ones.

Will PT3 support both the old and the new hand history formats that are still out there for ipoker as it doesn't look like my particular skin (Green Joker Poker) looks like getting updated any time soon.

Re: PokerTracker 3 (Beta 9 Release - 23-Apr-2008) - incl. HUD!

OK, I have a LAG issue with PT3HUD. I sended this problem to support, also a log file, as suggested by PokerAce. Now I get this message from them.

"This log file doesn't show auto-import being started. Remember, each time you start PT3, it overwrites the log file, so you need to attach the log file before restarting PT3."

So what do I have to do now? Can someone translate me this, lol? I am autoimporting all the time so I don't even know what they are trying to say, lol. Sorry for being an idiot.

Re: PokerTracker 3 (Beta 9 Release - 23-Apr-2008) - incl. HUD!

Issue with saving HUD layout:

I go into the HUD configuration, remove the Player Stats group, then apply. All goes well with that. As soon as I click Save Layout it locks on me. Anyone else had this? I want to create my own HUD layout on the table but can't seem to remove any of the default stats under Player Stats, only add new stats. I figure I can just delete the default Player Stats group and create my own without this lookup issue.

Thx for a GREAT product btw. It kills v2.

me too, even though I have some problems with this BETA version and I am bitching about HUD not working, it is much better than PT2 and the final version will be the nuts, I am sure. keep up the great work

Re: PokerTracker 3 (Beta 9 Release - 23-Apr-2008) - incl. HUD!

If I export all my hands out of HM, which consists of stars, ftp, ub, and ap hands and import them all into PT I'm assuming that PT will just ignore all non stars/ftp/party hands. But when you do add support for AP and UB can I simply just reimport these hands from the HM export, or will PT think they've already been imported?

Basically I'm asking if PT is somehow recording already seeing these hands come in, and won't attempt to bring them in again once support is added.

We will strive to support all historic versions of the hand histories from all the sites we support. Both the new and old iPoker formats will be supported.

What you need to do is reproduce the problem, and then close PT3. Before starting PT3 back up, attach your PokerTracker.log file to a support ticket.

This should be resolved in the next release.

PT3 will go through all the files again if you re-import them. This way it's sure not to miss any.

I use the PT3 handreplayer quite a lot. It's definitely a lot better than the one in PT2, but I do miss the keyboard-shortcuts. Are you going to implement those in the future?

Yes, the hand replayer will be going through a big overhaul.

Reproduce the problem, with auto import running, then close PT3 and find your PokerTracker.log file located at C:\Program Files\PokerTracker 3\PokerTracker.log. Attach this to a support ticket before starting PT3 again, if you start PT3 the log file resets.

Well, basically just play for a while til you get lag, if that was your problem. Then shut down and send the log file through the support system that Josh linked.

Then they've already been imported into your database. With auto-import, you should check the option to move the processed hand histories unless you have something else moving them. Having PT3 process all the files over and over again is a waste of time.

Re: PokerTracker 3 (Beta 9 Release - 23-Apr-2008) - incl. HUD!

I was in the shower thinking about pt3 and thought of a couple of things I would like to see implemented:

1. A gradient feature for the HUD color parameters. I think this would be extremely useful and powerful for the HUD as I like to set my colors for each statistic to hot or cold colors depending on the player.

2. On the database screen I think it should show how much space your database takes up on your harddrive in terms of MB/GB.
