Make sure PokerStars is configured to save your hand histories to disk. Check to see if hands are being written.

That's fine, as long as you have PT3 configured to read from that directory.

how many more beta's until we will be able to tag hand histories as we are playing?
04-04-2008 , 06:23 PM
I'm not sure if it will make it in this next beta or not. Hopefully only one or two after that.

We already have pretty good quick-start documentation on our site. We plan on expanding on this documentation as we go along.

Is the tournament section in PT3 not very far along at this point?

Ive imported about 60 or so MTT tournaments between stars and FT,
and all the stars tournaments show up, but about 1/2 the FT's do not,
despite no import errors.

I also noticed FT hand histories dont show the buy in amount, and I
couldnt find a way to edit them manually thru the interface.

Tournament support is still basic and a little buggy. If you want to send those tournament hand histories to use, attach them to a support ticket and I'll make sure I get them working.

To manually edit your results, go to the Tournament menu and choose Enter Results.

What do you all think is a reliable samplesize for the 3-bet stats?
04-05-2008 , 04:12 PM
I would like to suggest an aesthetic improvement. In the limit column, I think no limit and pot limit games should be listed by their SB and BB just like limit. In forums I have seen no limit games with $1/$2 blinds listed (often incorrectly) as $2NL, NL$2, $200NL and NL$200. As the short stacking debate has proven, everyone isn’t buying in for some standard 100 BB so naming the game that way is flawed. And naming the game by only the BB just further muddles the situation. These differences and confusions don’t happen in limit. In limit the game is universally called $1/$2. So labeling the no limit games in the columns as $1/$2 NL would make everything clear as well as line up nicely.

Also, be nice to have Limit and NL grouped seperately in the limit column, as far as that goes.

I haven't done or read any studies on this, but I imagine at least several hundred hands would be required before this gets anywhere near accurate.

Currently we are using "$BigBlind NL". We originally started with "$SB/$BB NL", but some sites don't record the small blind information for NL games so we changed it. We will be consistent with it.

I'm not sure what you mean by this. PT3 currently keeps the NL and Limit games in separate limits.
04-05-2008 , 09:10 PM
That is too bad some sites don't record the small blind information for NL games. I think all the limits are consistent so even with only the big blind information you could infer what the small blind is. So $1/2 NL...If therre are others out there that agree with me and would like them to list the games that way speak with your fingers and +1 this.

An alternative is atleast what River_Mitt was getting at to separate the games. PokerAce, currectly I have $1/2 then under that $2 NL then under that $2/4 then under that $3/6 then under that $4 NL. See the NL's aren't all grouped together. Thats what River_Mitt meant.

If you put the NL and PL (i.e. NL $2, NL $4, PL $2) in front then the column could be sorted alphbetically creating the groups. Though NL $2 could mean two different things thats why $1/$2 NL (or NL $1/$2) is so much better.

BB isn't allways SBx2, e.g. 2/5NL

I didn't say all sites were SBx2 I said they were consistent, everyone is $2/$5 NL (atleast big sites).

microgaming has $2,5/$5

River_Mitt had mentioned being able to group the Limit, PL and NL. In PT3 they currently use $2 NL to stand for $1/$2 NL. If they switched it from $2 NL to NL $2 then you could do an alphanumeric sort of that column and have all the Limit, NL and PL's grouped together.

It is a shame some poker sites don't put the sb in the hand history.

Thks hammond, I agree with you, I didn't think that grouping Limit, PL and NL would be that sore of a spot.

Quick Question:

I subscribe to a datamining service for Full Tilt. For a while now, I have been taking these datamined hands and importing them into PT3. However, recently (perhaps with beta 7) these datamined hands no longer import. I get a message about Unrecognized file format. Here is an example text from the message:

2008/04/07 00:52:36: Import beginning
2008/04/07 00:52:36: Import file: C:\Users\John\Desktop\NL_5-10_6Max_FullTilt_20080328\NL_5-10_6Max_FullTilt_20080328\FullTilt_Alamosa_(6_max) 20080328.txt
2008/04/07 00:52:36: Unrecognized file format.
2008/04/07 00:52:36: Import file: C:\Users\John\Desktop\NL_5-10_6Max_FullTilt_20080328\NL_5-10_6Max_FullTilt_20080328\FullTilt_Bayswater_(6_ma x) 20080328.txt
2008/04/07 00:52:36: Unrecognized file format.

It goes on like that for all the files. What is the problem and how can I fix it?

Thanks.

Attach a few of these files to a support ticket on our site. I'll see what's wrong with them and get it fixed.
