I can't sort hands but dates. For example, i try to see all the hands from today, so i filter for March 23, 2008, but it still shows all the hands in my database. Is this a known problem or could i be doing something wrong?

It sounds more like you are experiencing problems with a poorly designed interface. It tilted me hard to.

Okay, ya that is poorly designed imo. Thanks fozzy.

I'm sure this has been answered and I apologize if it has but will we have to re-import all of our hands when the final version comes out if we have had no previous problems?

They are redesigning it, to reduce the number of clicks, in case I forgot to mention/quote that part.

by the way, how do i look up how many Hands in the database
it only show the playing hand, does not mention datamine hands
If this is the first cluster you've done on the database, 6 hours isn't unreasonable, depending on your computer specs.

You will probably need to re-import at least once more before the commercial release. After the commercial release, any database changes will be handled automatically behind the scenes.

I have tried to install the program, which works, but then the installation of postgreSQL has been problematic. It finally installed but when I open PT3 and try to create a DB, I get the error message:

"unable to login to database (template1). Reason: could not connect to server. Connection refused (0x0000274D/10061) is the server running on host "localhost" and accepting TCP/IP connections on port 5432?

Anyone know a fix?

Is it possible to export the current hand history files from PT3?

Deadline for the new beta with the hud?

I'm getting this problem and the links given by Lateksi (both the vista fix and whatever installation guide he gives in his long response) are dead.

This has probably been asked but could someone tell me if PT3 works when importing hands from Stars new 50bb min. tables?

The hand histories are in the same format as any other table, so there should be no problem.

Random guess - the links may only work if you are logged in to the PT3 site.

Please post PostgreSQL problems/questions on our forum. Derek handles most of these and he doesn't monitor this thread like I do.

Yes, in the Database Management window.

I'm conflicted about this. Beta 6 expires the end of this week. I was out of town for the holiday weekend and got no development work done and there are still some major bugs that need worked out in the HUD. I have two options:

1. Fix the current bugs and release the functionality as is, which is VERY rough and crude.

2. Re-release beta 6 with an extended expiration date, allowing me more time to make the HUD more user friendly.

If I choose option 1, then for the next two weeks, all I'll read are posts saying "The PT3 HUD sucks", "It doesn't have XYZ feature", etc., etc., etc. A lot of people are quick to forget that we're still in beta and expect a fully featured, bug-free product.

I know having a HUD is extremely important and once it's available, a lot more people will be using PT3. However, first impressions are important, and I'm starting to feel it's more important to have something closer to the final product in this instance than getting something out quicker.

Perception is reality !!

I vote to extend the B6 expiration so initial HUD release is something closer to final product.

I, for one, am sure the wait will be more than worth it !

Continuing congrats on a great job.

I cast a vote for option # 2.

Extend the expiration date TIL APRIL 4th (not later pleeaaasssseeeee) and release the HUD on that day (earlier in the day is better than later). Make this a drop-dead date and endeavor to make it as good as possible for that release date.

While I am chomping at the bit for the HUD to be released (and have been for several weeks), I also understand your concerns about the reaction of others here and abroad. Releasing now will inevitably cause you to spend a great deal of time and effort explaining and consoling those who complain about already "known-to-you" bugs". That time could be better spent in cleaning it up and improving it in the first place.

Save the headache and heartache, just wait a little longer.

i just tried the program and imported 90k hands, it took about 1 hour with is fine. but PT3 didnt get the right limits, theres just space in the "limit" coloumn or its the wrong way round
is this because i exported only some limits from Pt2? whatever, im not convinced and deinstalling right now
03-25-2008 , 12:59 PM
What kind of hands were they? If you could attach a few to a support ticket on our site, we'll take a look at them and get the problem fixed.
03-25-2008 , 01:52 PM
just standard PL hands from FTP. Thanks but i will just wait until your HUD is out, because it makes no sense testing now. Will the old hud get 3bet stats for PT2 as well?
03-25-2008 , 02:00 PM
If you attach the hands now, I can get this fixed for the next release rather than you waiting two releases for the fix.

PA Hud cannot display 3 Betting stats because the PT2 database doesn't have the information required.
03-25-2008 , 02:32 PM
Definitely extend B6, you're just going to have the hud-sux-bitchfest you mentioned and have to spend half your time answering stupid questions.
People can use AHK HUD or PokerObserver HUD until that.
03-25-2008 , 03:23 PM
Def extend the B6 period but MAKE SURE not to put out the HUD until AFTER APRIL 5th. (not earlier pleeeeeeeeeeeeease) This is VERY important!
03-25-2008 , 03:52 PM
PokerAce - how come in my player summary, it only shows the tournaments that I busted out of, not those in which I cashed?
