Damn.

I think I'll delete this database and just import my own hands for the time being when its finished. How do I go about doing this?

Thanks dave.

just stop the cluster. you won't lose performance by not having clustered the last 50 hands

Have you changed the stats that appear in this report? If so, which ones?
No way I can find all the hands, I would have to randomly search through the database. But it seems like almost everyday there are some hands that dont make PT3.

As for the report, no I have not changed anything from the default.

PT3 cannot currently import observed hands from PokerStars.

Not yet. If performance becomes an issue, it will be added.

Will PT3 allow importing of observed hands from pokerstars prior to commercial release?

sorry if it has been asked but if we start using pt3 and load a bunch of hands, when the final program is released, will we have to load the hands all over or will it just be an upgrade?

Bump early tomorrow if possible - I've been meaning to make a script to auto-generate these hand histories for a while now, need to remember to do so tomorrow before I get tired

Re: PokerTracker 3 (Beta 6 Release - 08-Mar-2008)

I was importing a bunch of hands for a directory. It was importing about 140h/sec. Next thing I know, it's importing at 2.8h/sec.

What's the problem and how can I fix it?

Edit: I tried closing down but PT3 said it can't because hands are importing. I got this warning despite clicking on the pause/stop button and it said "Import paused" on the main screen.

Not sure if you've seen how long queries take on 15+ million DB, but caching would prob help things out.

When is iPoker support coming and will it have a HUD like Holdem Manager has?

A HUD which shows more stats than Pahud does right now.

Re: PokerTracker 3 (Beta 6 Release - 08-Mar-2008)

we def need a way to watch all filtered hands in a row without being grouped. for ex, i just filtered for overcards on flop and turn + bet flop +bet turn. on the hands tab, i'm using display final hands, and it shows some of them grouped into "1 pair" and the others into "High Card."

It seems it shoudl be an easy fix to add "All Hands" to the listbox and then we can just replay all the hands being filtered at once.

Would you rather take the performance hit once when you add the alias or every time you retrieve data for an aliased name? With PT3, we chose the the former.

I don't need every hand. Just a few will do. Filter down to a specific date and check specific sessions. It shouldn't take more than a few minutes to find a few hands that are missing. For the report problem, please attach the PokerTracker.log file along with a few of the hand histories.

I'm hoping. Keep in mind that PokerStars is only allowing this with restrictions. You won't be able to datamine in the traditional sense.

The next beta version or two will likely have some database changes, which will require a reimport. Once it goes commercial, the reimport will be done for you, but until then, you'll need to do it manually.

PT3 likely got stuck on a specific file. If you can open the PokerTracker.log file, find that file (it would be one of the last lines in the log), and attach it to a support ticket, we'll get it fixed. Keep in mind that every time you start PT3, the log file is overwritten, so you may need to reproduce the problem.

The database is indexed pretty well, with queries on most players being very quick on a clustered database. If you have players with 50k+ hands, retrieval speed might become an issue.

The first rough version of the HUD should be available in the next beta.

Could you attach some of the One Pair hands to a support ticket? They should be falling under the High Card filter. On the Final Hands detail report, to the bottom right of the report, there's a button that has a Play symbol on it. Click that button to load all the hands listed into the replayer.

ok, just read in another post that datamining on pokerstars (observed hands) is discouraged/forbidden and any programs that allow you to do it is forbidden. I guess that's why PT3 doesn't allow it. Needless to say, I didn't know that and now that I do, i won't be asking for functionality to do it. to get any hand history into PT3, you will have to be "in" the game as opposed to observing it

Just downloaded the most recent patch and have the 'infinite start up' problem with it.

How do I shut it down without restarting the computer?

How do I keep this from happening again?

that's not 100% true either, see this thread:

ctrl+alt+del -> task manager -> processes -> find pokertracker.exe and click end process

No no no

It wasn't a complaint I was just wondering what the reasoning behind this was. Makes sense now. This is definitely the way to go. Thanks.

Re: PokerTracker 3 (Beta 6 Release - 08-Mar-2008)

PT3 is easier to use and I *think* it's a little faster than HM. On the other hand [and I think someone mentioned this before], HM has the list of pots of how many times you win/lost vs a certain opponent categorized by bbs size. I think this feature is critical when analyzing another player.

It would also be great if I can make the hand replayer bigger.

Does PT3 ever load, or does it always lock up? Are you behind a firewall or proxy of some sort? Please reproduce the problem and then attach the PokerTracker.log file to a support ticket on our site.

Remember, PT3 is still in beta. The vs Player tab hasn't been touched since beta 1. More fields will be added to it, and I'm hoping to allow the same kind of customization that the other reports have (the vs Player reports are more complicated than the other reports).

Wouldn't it be faster to import one hand (or one file) per site, then create aliasses, and then import ALL hands?

Also, is this normal (to have Won Without Blind for position 1)? I haven't changed anything on this report.

PietM,

Do you post blinds in the CO often?

That's what I figured it was from when I noticed it . . .

I don't post OOP (I use FTShortCuts and use the Deal Me In mode). Oh, now I see there's $1 difference between amount won and won without blind. So maybe I posted just once... Thanx ;-)

It would be great if the vs player section has the option to exclude the number of times won/lost if the hand doesn't get past pre-flop.

Re: PokerTracker 3 (Beta 6 Release - 08-Mar-2008)

cross posted from pt3 forums:

I think it'd be great to be able to search for specific hands in the HH replayer.

What I'd like to do for my session review is go over just the hand histories I've saved in a notepad file.

For example: say I want to review all of my bad beats, suckouts, coolers, and coin flips to kind of get a feel for how good/bad I ran. I would also save any hand that I thought was interesting or thought I could have played better. I then would take the hand# of each HH and load it into the "search function" and replay each one of them. More specifically, I'd like to be able to load them all up at once and just sit back and view each hand. Thoughts?
