Have looked thru the p3 forums but can't seem to find anything
Please see the Database Management & Maintenance Guide under the PokerTracker 3 - Documentation.

When is the HUD going to be released in Beta, or is it not going to be?

That means the hands are in there... Restart PT3, load up your screen name, go to every tab, then attach the PokerTracker.log file to a support ticket on our site. Please describe the problem you are having so we know what we're looking at. Also, screenshots of a few tabs might be useful.

Hopefully a basic HUD will be available in two weeks. The next beta version will have a much improved filtering system, and the beta after that should have the basic HUD.

02-29-2008 , 01:54 PM

http://developer.pgadmin.org/~dpage/...ista-fixes.zip

Are you getting that error during the PT3 install, or when PT3 is installing PostgreSQL for you?
02-29-2008 , 03:35 PM
you could try installing postgres but unchecking the cluster database option during the installation and doing that part manually, worked for me, i was getting the initdb error too
02-29-2008 , 03:46 PM
i get the error right at the end of installing PostgreSQL
02-29-2008 , 03:55 PM
Did you let PT3 installed it for you? If you did, did you run PT3 as Admin? Have you tried installing PostgreSQL prior to this? After the installation aborts, does the C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL directory still exist?

i let pt install it for me a few times and got errors everytime.

installer and pt3 were set as administrator.

i had pt3 a couple weeks ago before i reinstalled windows but since than no.

i thought i just uninstalled and deleted everything, but i guess its still there yes

I've always had problems installing PostgreSQL, here's what I did with the initdb:1 errors:

First uninstall PostgreSQL, and remove the postgres user account by clicking start -> run and copy pasting the following command and clicking ok:

net user postgres /delete

Log in as administrator and follow this guide, except UNCHECK initialise database cluster. Won't give initdb errors now. After that, go to c:\program files\PostgreSQL\8.3\, right click "data" folder and select properties. Go to the security tab, select user "postgres" and check "allow full control". Do the same for "Users" user. Click apply&ok.

Click start -> run, copy paste the following line and click ok:

"c:\program files\postgresql\8.3\bin\initdb.exe" -D "c:\program files\postgresql\8.3\data"

Reboot. Go to start\program files\postgresql 8.3\ and launch pgadmin III, try to connect to the database. If you can't connect, you probably have to edit the config files. Go to start\program files\postgresql 8.3\configuration files and edit postgresql.conf. Search for "listen_addresses" and change the value from 'localhost' to '*'. While you're at it, you might want to edit pg_hba.conf, scroll to the bottom and change METHOD values from "MD5" to "trust". Look in the postgresql\8.3\data folder and delete postmaster.pid file if there is one. Restart the postgresql service, and try connecting again.

You might also have to install postgresql odbc driver, download the latest version from here
After installation you can remove the full control rights to the data folder.

Disclaimer: I don't now anything about PostgreSQL and half the instructions here might be redundant or just plain wrong, but it worked for me. I also don't have Vista so installing on it might be a whole different game.

If this doesn't work, too bad!

The HUD will be able to show you any stat you want, including your custom stats.

Ok i got started, but when i get to service configuration the default account domain gets a pop up saying invalid username specified. if i change that it goes through to next stage. is that where my problem is? or should i just change it? thank you.

I imported like 800K hands....then it clustered...took about 3 hours and it says Clustering complete...yet the little Clustering PT3 Beta DB 1 thingie still shows and when i try and close it it says please allow the databse to finish clustering--am i missing something?

it shows
12:15:22 clustering...
15:43:22: Clustering complete.

its just now 16:00 and the clustering task box is still up and the green swish is still moving back n forth
