check your task manager and close the running pokertracker.exe process.

i'm actually having the same problem; it hangs upon starting rather frequently. i'm running pgsql 8.2, and when it's hanging, there seems to be about six postgres.exe instances open at the same time. this is upon booting up windows. possible bug?

I have checked the task manager and it doesn't show any other instances. With that in mind it should be ok to have pokertracker.exe running as I have often run PT and PT3 at the same time.

I'm not exactly sure what you're asking for here. Can you give me more details?

EV calculations haven't made it into PT3 yet, but they will.

Does it matter for the old PT as well? (Since I'll switch to new one when support for the site I need arrives)
No, it should run fine under either.

Can you attach a PokerTracker.log file from one of these times to a support ticket on our site? It will help us figure out what's going on.

no problem. will do.

Hey guys, great job so far on giving us continual updates on the software. I was wondering if there was a performance difference when using postgres 8.3 vs 8.2 when using PT3. Also, if I update, I assume that 8.3 is compatible with PT2? Will it enhance performance there too?

thanks

Yes, there is a performance boost in PostgreSQL 8.3 which should help any program using the database. However, I believe there are some issues with 8.3 and PT2. I would not upgrade until PT3 is ready and you are completely ready to ditch PT2.

Best regards,

Derek

Ok, thank you for the help, but will there be any changes to PT2 to fix compatibility issues with postgresql 8.3?

I think slick123 means something like this.

What exactly is this showing, VP$IP per hand?
02-28-2008 , 08:45 AM
I don't know exactly, but my guess (and what I would want something like this to show).

The hands we have seen villain open from EP. The stronger color, the more frequent. So we have probably seen him open AA/KK/JJ a few times and A5o/43s once or so in the 126 hands he has shown down when raising from EP.

That's the previous hand layout I was referring to for the HUD. IMHO the full layout of hole cards under the filters in PT3 should have this style hand layout instead of the old looking set up carried over from PT2.

If you have PokerStove, open it and click Player 1, then click preflop and you'll see a much better way to pick a range of hands.

Does PT3 work with Windows 2000?
02-28-2008 , 12:43 PM
Yes, it should work fine with Win2k.

Finally! 19 hours converting my 4m hh PT2 database to PT3 database, phew. 60h/s, is this because of the large volume of hands or because of the conversion process? It started out at 150h/s and gradually went down

Now, let's see what this "PT3" you speak of is all about, haha!

Yo PokerAce...little help here????

I uninstalled Beta 5 and reinstalled because of previous problem. Now when I click on the desktop short cut I get the start up dialog that I need to run as administrator yadda yadda yadda. I am using Vista and have set up "Run as Administrator" in the properties. After clicking "Let me continue" nothing happens. When I click on the desktop shortcut again I get the start up dialog box again but when I click let me continue I get the message "Another version of pokertracker is already running"

Do you have a firewall or other security software running that might be interfering with PT3? If so, try disabling it. Did previous versions of PT3 run properly on your computer?

Anyone else having an issue with importing hands with the new version? I just updated it to 5 (installed over Beta 4) and when manually importing some hands I played yesterday, it doesn't show up in my database. Had no problem importing before with Beta 4.

Maybe I'm missing something. Any help?

Does the import status show the hands being imported? Have you tried clearing your filters?

Yep, they've been imported (they are in the PT3--> Processed folder) and I have cleared the filters.

If you try re-importing them, do you get duplicates?

PT3 defaults it to "dbpass" when it installs for you.

Yup, no new hands imported and # duplicates. I've restarted the program, the computer, cleared the settings/filters. Is this abnormal (i.e. problem never encountered before?).

is there a thread or forum post that gives the 411 on how to get your PT2 databases into P3?
Have looked thru the p3 forums but can't seem to find anything
